We bought the home on this property during the pandemic in 2020. Shortly after, we started building this guest cabin from scratch. Working through out the summer of 2021, we repurposed wood and materials from everywhere we could find. Reclaimed lumber, donations from friend’s garages- every piece of material that was used to build this little cabin has a story…
The cabin is Off-Grid and within walking distance to downtown restaurants and public swimming area on Long Lake. Sit quietly down by the Bear River which runs right through the property, and spark up a fire to enjoy right at the cabin with the provided firewood. The inside of the cabin is 8x8, with propane heat**and solar lighting. Inside the cabin you’ll find two folding chairs, and a 2 person fold-out cot. Bedding/Sleeping bag is not provided.
*This is a pack in/pack out property, with no running water or toilets. Please make sure you don’t forget your camping potty- do not book this property without one. Please respect that we have children and dogs and do not want to find human waste.

Toad Hall Cabin
Great little spot. Comfy. We had to grab fire-starting materials and keep the propane heater on so there was no cold butt syndrome from the cot, but we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would definitely book again!

Toad Hall Cabin
Quaint & Charming Tiny Cabin
Toad Hall Cabin was a perfect getaway for my boyfriend and I! After an event in Portland we drove about 1 hour to Mike’s place. Knowing we would be arriving a little later, Mike put the light on and left the heater on pilot for us. So kind! There was a tranquil stream behind the cabin that we enjoyed in the morning. The fire pit looked great and is out in front of the cabin but private still. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place more!! The only “negatives” would be that the cabin is close to the street (some street noise) and there is no on site bathroom. Neither of these were issues for us! Mike was an accommodating and kind host! Can’t wait to come back!

Toad Hall Cabin
First Hip Camper Review!
I had no idea we were the first people to stay at Toad Hall Cabin, how exciting! The cabin itself was small, about 8x8 - but was more than enough room for 2 adults and our 2 dogs. It was comfortable and cozy inside the cabin. Mike had a double camping cot set up which worked perfectly with our sleeping mats/sleeping bag set up. We spent the majority of our time outside by the fire pit, where there was plenty of wood stocked (at no additional cost)! The cabin itself was only about 50 feet off the road and there was some car traffic, but it wasn’t too bothersome. Behind the cabin is a beautiful wooded area that leads down to a river that feeds into the nearby lake. Mike was super helpful and available to answer any questions! Definitely worth looking in to if you’re headed that direction!
