Unplug and reconnect with nature at our rustic campsite nestled among the mossy rocks and ferns of Cape Jellison in Stockton Springs. This is a raw, off-grid campsite, so bring your own gear, bedding, lighting, water, and supplies and experience Maine’s wild beauty up close. The campsite is located just off Rocky Point Road, a quiet dead-end dirt road. The platform tent is visible from the road, but traffic is generally limited to neighbors and the occasional vehicle misdirected by GPS toward nearby Sears Island. The site includes a sturdy platform tent with a queen-size bed frame, a private portable camp toilet, and a simple camp shower bag that guests can fill with their own water. Bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, toiletries, and other camping supplies. There is no electricity, torch fuel, running water, trash service, or lighting provided onsite. The toilet uses disposable waste bags. This is a Leave No Trace campsite, and campers must securely tie and pack out all used toilet bags, pet waste, trash, and personal belongings when they leave. There is no waste disposal available onsite. The campsite’s highlight is a wooded trail leading to quiet beach access on Stockton Harbor. The walk takes approximately ten minutes for most adults but may take longer with small children or while carrying supplies. The trail includes uneven ground, roots, rocks, slopes, and a set of stairs leading down to the beach. Fire Lane 3 briefly interrupts the wooded trail, so campers will cross the lane before continuing toward the water. At the bottom of the beach stairs, you’ll find a second fire ring that is perfect for an evening drink or early morning coffee. Search the shoreline for Maine sea glass, watch for eagles and deer, or enjoy views across Stockton Harbor. The nearby Stockton Harbor Yacht Club offers a full-service bar and restaurant on the water, along with kayak and canoe rentals when available. This was our second time back here with our 2 children. This place is magical if you want privacy and time hanging out in the woods and hiking to a stunning beach. Everything is clean and well thought out. We cannot wait to come back!!!

The space is amazing, secluded and relaxing, with a short walk that brings you right to the ocean! The camp had everything we needed and the home made outhouse was a perfect touch!! We will absolutely back, we love the space they have built :)

The beach was private and beautiful!!! A bit of a walk down but we learned the route quick and we were on the beach several times a day. The tent was perfect too- dry and clean and comfortable.

Wonderful, tranquil spot with super comfy mattress and all the amenities stated. The only surprise was no TP and needing to take ALL of my waste with me. I was prepared to take the trash but not the rest. Hard to manage if you have nowhere to dump it so be prepared.

Introvert’s Retreat!

My husband and I had a very peaceful and relaxing stay! The site is well maintained and private. Parking is close enough to the tent to make carrying any items to camp easy. I also appreciated that there’s a mattress with a protective cover on it so you can bring your own sheets/blankets. This was soo much better than a bustling hotel setting. We brought our daughter for a swim the next day and plan to rent it again since there seems to be enough room for our whole family. :) The nature walk to the beach is well marked out and well worth the small effort. Personally, just having access to the private beach alone is worth the camp rental price. We can’t wait to come back!

Overall place is a great concept and a lovely beach near by. We were disappointed as having an eco friendly bag to poop on and then having to take it with you is definitely not compostable. Also, the camp had torches for the light but all canisters were empty. It felt little bit disorganized. Please remove compostable toilet term and utilize an eco friendly bag instead…

The tent was great and the bed was comfy! Much better than our air mattress. The private beach was awesome, as well. The hike to the beach was a bit longer than expected through pretty dense woods and rugged terrain. Also, the camp site was pretty much a giant mud pit... The only areas not muddy were rocky and on a slope. I think it’s a decent camp site for a couple without young children, but unfortunately we had a 1 and 3 year old with us and there were very minimal safe areas for them to walk around camp (especially my 1 year old). Overall a decent place that my dog loved, but just not very little kid friendly.

The site was great! Very clean and private. We could leave our 2 dogs off leash while there. The road (dead end) is not that far, but so private we only saw a car or 2 the whole time, not an issue. And parking was close enough that we could use our car to keep our cooler and food inside (we like to do that because of animals). We’ve been to a bunch of Tentrr’s and Yurts, and this was one of the better ones. The host was responsive to any questions we had. Oh, and there were plenty of walks/hikes very nearby. Definitely recommended!

We had a great time and loved the site! The tent was comfortable and did great in the rain. It got muddy around camp, but that's just part of camping in the spring. The location was incredible, it felt secluded but was close enough to everything we needed. It was a short and scenic drive to Acadia which was perfect. We saw lots of deer and wildlife. Our senior dog loved the place as well!

We really enjoyed staying at this spot. The little hike through the woods was fun, the secluded beach was amazing, and all the amenities we needed were available. Even though there are houses nearby it feels like you are alone in the woods. I would absolutely stay here again.

Okay, this place is amazing! It has always been a dream to have a fire on the beach, and this place made it happen. The tent and campsite were perfect, well-maintained, and provided a gorgeous spot to unwind. My dog loved being able to be off-leash here, and we both enjoyed running on the beach. Don't miss this site!

MAGICAL
Canvas Tent with Queen Bed
This site was wonderful. The beach was one of the best that I have encountered on the mid-coast. We spent hours exploring the beach and were able to walk out to a small island at low tide. The site itself was well-equipped. The tent was cozy and the shithouse was so clean that the kids didn't bitch about it. We were happy to wake up to the sounds of woodland creatures and the sunlight shining through the trees, illuminating the beautiful wilderness around us. Others have noted the proximity to the road and sound from vehicles but that didn't bother us at all. The road itself has only a few residents. It still felt private and secluded and it was a weekend of smiles and laughs. We look forward to camping here again. Sorry about the plant pot!

We stayed here around two weeks ago and we loved it so much we had to come right back!! We stayed longer this time, from Wednesday through Sunday. On Thursday it POURED down rain for seriously 24 hours straight. Not just a drizzle, POURED. I can very confidently say that this tent is very weather proof - no leaks, no wind gusts making it fall apart. It was nice to know we were safe/dry in the tent. It’s also more than big enough to set up our camp chairs inside and do a puzzle and read our books inside all day. Thursday night went to dinner at The Club (5ish min drive away) - AMAZING food and really good with gluten allergy. We saw multiple deer, blue jays, other birds, squirrels and a skunk at the camp site. At the beach we saw crabs, razor clams, more deer, birds, and specifically a giant beautiful heron. Friday we went to Acadia National Park (1 hours 20 min drive) and spent all day in Bar Harbor and the park itself hiking and exploring. Saturday we sat at the beach all day and read :) we got Carriers Mainely lobster - one of those seafood shacks for dinner with steamers and fries (20ish min drive) Perfect campsite, perfect location, perfect beach!!

BEST camp ever

This was the BEST Hipcamp stay we ever had!!!! Everything about it was perfect - we appreciated the tent, bathroom set up, fire pit, picnic table, and outdoor chairs. The setting is perfect, we had two dogs with us and it was private enough that we could let them off leash around the site. We were so cozy and content!! It unexpectedly rained one night from 3am-7am-ish (rain was NOT in the forecast) but we didn’t care because the tent kept us perfectly dry while we were sleeping. The tent even had some cute little extras in it like a little plastic storage bin and hanging cubes for extra organization. Then, the beach!!!! Oh my god, just amazing and perfect. It’s accurately described in the listing, there really is a bit of a hike through the woods to get there, but it wasn’t that long. It is very well marked as well, which we appreciated. We loved it so much we booked to go back in a week and a half!! Lol

The site was clean and in order. The tent and surrounding area was nice for what we needed - a home base. If you are expecting a very private site this will not be the best location, but if you are okay with the occasional car driving by this site will work well for you. Overall a nice experience and within driving distance to a lot of cool places in Maine. The beach access was nice and a very quiet spot in the morning.

Perfect for couples!

My husband and I stayed here just for one night, and we wish we had planned for 2! The camp was exactly as pictured and more. It was close to Stockton springs but still felt very private. The beach was about a 10 minute walk through forest and down some stairs, and we spent most of the afternoon there absolutely alone. The camp itself was clean and spacious, and the bed was pretty comfy. We would definitely stay again!!
