All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
Relax and unwind in real nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of your private Maine Woods experience! This is a unique property where you will have 1,200 feet of shoreline on a 350 acre private access only Pond, a babbling brook covering over a mile and over 230 acres with abundant wildlife and fauna to forage and explore on your own. There is cell service but you are encouraged to detox offline and experience true nature. You have free use of the kayak or just relax at the shore of the Pond or around the 10 X 14 Cabin. The Cabin and shore area each has its own firepit. The Cabin offers just enough creature comfort for a relaxing nights sleep listening to the owls or the loons either from the loft with a queen size mattress pad or one of the two sleeping cots. Bring your own sleeping bags. Only 5 minutes off of Route 1 and even less from Route 3 near Belfast. A truly unique stay awaits you if you are on the way to Acadia National Park or just need a long weekend or extended stay to re-balance. The Woods are an amazing place to de-stress, boost mental health and improve your overall well-being naturally. There is free firewood (collection may be required), fire starters, lighters and a dry tinder box along with hygienic supplies (Camp toilet, Biodegradable personal waste bags, Biodegradable soap, Toilet paper, hand sanitizer and candles) and a privacy tent and pit latrine. The Cabin of the Woods is close to popular Mid-coast towns like Camden, Rockport and Rockland with all of their amenities while enjoying life in this off-grid all-natural relaxing setting. A 15-minute drive to Belfast allows you to find great lobster fresh from a lobster pound or pick up a meal and enjoy it while watching the daily life in Belfast Harbor and waterfront. You may also visit close by spots like Searsport Harbor or Sears Island. You can also take a short trip to Camden, Rockport or Rockland. Although completely off-grid you have close shopping options with Hannaford, B &; M Market, Irving Oil, the Only Donut, the Super Scoop Ice Cream stand and even a YMCA only minutes from the Cabin. Scenic 1 hour plus drive to Acadia National Park.100% of Site Revenue is invested in property costs, maintenance and improvements (road) and costs associated with implementing advanced environmentally friendly land management practices supporting the Duck Trap River watershed and the site´s involvement in the USDA NRCS´s Conservation Stewardship Program! Set up camp in the PRIVATE 230 acres of lush woods of Maine for a few nights or more! Stay in a 10ft by 14ft cabin and sleep up on the loft. Your sleeping bag works great on top of the queen size mattress pad or one of the two cots available or your own sleeping mat. You have free use of the kayak, paddles and pfd´s. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings (take in a midnight barred-owl party) and experience the nature, you can explore 2 man made 1800´s era structures along the brook. For city life, take a 15 minute drive into the nearby town of Belfast or a little further to Camden, Rockport or Rockland. A scenic 1 hour plus drive can take you to Acadia National Park. The property features easy access to 1,200 feet of shoreline on the PRIVATE Tilden Pond for swimming and fishing. Just drive or walk the trail you used to drive in and hike the last yards (keep left) to the shoreline. The USDA National Resource Conservation Service in 2026 approved the site and grounds for support in the Conservation Service Program to maintain and improve existing conservation practices and implement new advanced land management practices in support of the Duck Trap River Watershed (home of one of the last remaining natural Atlantic Salmon runs in the USA).
