Relax and unwind in real nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of your private Maine Woods experience! This is a unique property where you will have 1,200 feet of shoreline on a 350 acre private access only Pond, a babbling brook covering over a mile and over 230 acres with abundant wildlife and fauna to forage and explore on your own. There is cell service but you are encouraged to detox offline and experience true nature. You have free use of the kayak or just relax at the shore of the Pond or around the 10 X 14 Cabin. The Cabin and shore area each has its own firepit. The Cabin offers just enough creature comfort for a relaxing nights sleep listening to the owls or the loons either from the loft with a queen size mattress pad or one of the two sleeping cots. Bring your own sleeping bags. Only 5 minutes off of Route 1 and even less from Route 3 near Belfast. A truly unique stay awaits you if you are on the way to Acadia National Park or just need a long weekend or extended stay to re-balance. The Woods are an amazing place to de-stress, boost mental health and improve your overall well-being naturally. There is free firewood (collection may be required), fire starters, lighters and a dry tinder box along with hygienic supplies (Camp toilet, Biodegradable personal waste bags, Biodegradable soap, Toilet paper, hand sanitizer and candles) and a privacy tent and pit latrine. The Cabin of the Woods is close to popular Mid-coast towns like Camden, Rockport and Rockland with all of their amenities while enjoying life in this off-grid all-natural relaxing setting. A 15-minute drive to Belfast allows you to find great lobster fresh from a lobster pound or pick up a meal and enjoy it while watching the daily life in Belfast Harbor and waterfront. You may also visit close by spots like Searsport Harbor or Sears Island. You can also take a short trip to Camden, Rockport or Rockland. Although completely off-grid you have close shopping options with Hannaford, B &; M Market, Irving Oil, the Only Donut, the Super Scoop Ice Cream stand and even a YMCA only minutes from the Cabin. Cabin is situated next to the landing area from a previous harvest. A significant supply of loose wood available to use-requires minimal collection effort. Pit toilet. Privacy tent, toilet seat/bucket and compostable sanitary bags (provided) and sawdust/wood shavings (provided), next to pit with generous supply of wood chips. Hand sanitizer provided.

The Pond is amazing for bathing and floating-use the kayak to float out past the reeds is best-bring water shoes-rocks are slippery. Pond is shallow.
No playground
The Woods are one giant playground-free use of the kayak, paddles and pfds, find the beaver lodges, explore the Alder Brook or the Tilden pond shoreline and look for tracks and other signs. Birders will enjoy the many kinds of birds. Take in a late night barred owl party! Foragers will love the mushroom diversity and berry options!

This place is magical. It is rare to find a haven that is private, quiet, and simply beautiful nature. The clear lake, the beautiful trees, the view of the hills, a great fire pit and cooking/eating table, a spot for a tent or a cabin in the woods, and a wonderful responsive host who is friendly and helpful. Don’t miss out on this gem. It truly gets away from it all and back to nature. 💚

Beautiful spot on a clean pond! We didn't end up using the cabin at all, we set up a tent at the cleared site next to the pond and it was incredible. We had to walk a little bit to find a flat spot but we found a good one if you follow the left path by the pond for a minute or so. This was an incredibly beautiful and quiet spot and we will absolutely be back!

Our stay at the Cabin in the Woods at Tilden Pond was everything we hoped for and more. If you’re looking to truly disconnect from the stress of everyday life and immerse yourself in the beauty of Maine, this is the place. The cabin was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable rustic stay. The surrounding forest was peaceful, and the walk down to Tilden Pond was absolutely breathtaking. We spent our days paddling, fishing, relaxing by the water, and listening to the loons—exactly the kind of experience we were looking for. The property feels wonderfully secluded while still being just a short drive from Belfast if you need supplies or want to explore the coast. One of the highlights was how dog-friendly the property is. Our dog had the time of their life exploring the trails, swimming in the pond, and enjoying the freedom of the woods. It was incredible to find a place where both we and our pup could truly relax. Robert was an exceptional host from start to finish. His communication was prompt, friendly, and helpful, making the entire experience seamless. This wasn’t just a camping trip—it was a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, and make lasting memories. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about when we can come back. If you’re considering booking this cabin, don’t hesitate. It’s a hidden gem that captures everything special about the Maine woods. Highly recommended!

Robert is a great host. Very clear communication. This is a really special place. I don’t think the description and photos do it justice. It is only 10 minutes from home but it feels like we were deep in the wilderness. We loved paddling around the pond and even saw a beaver swimming by! Sadly, my dog got a little too curious with a porcupine so beware if your dog is also determined to make friends with porcupines. We will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay! Cabin was very clean and was well-stocked with extra supplies (soap, paper towels, sanitizer, napkins). Robert was very responsive and gave us great recommendations. Kayaking on the pond was a highlight. We especially enjoyed hearing and seeing the loons. Birders: bring your cameras and binoculars! You’re bound to hear and see quite a bit.

As others have mentioned, Bob is a great host - very communicative before, during, and after trip. The cabin is stocked with camp chairs, cots, lights, headlamp, paper goods, some small folding tables, and bug spray. You may want to bring a larger table if you plan on cooking on a camp stove. There's a large table down by the pond but that's a 10 min walk from the cabin. One of my dogs is reactive and it was so nice that she could run around off leash and swim without any issues. The cabin feels really remote but Belfast is only 10 minutes away. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful hidden getaway!
Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond
Robert was an exceptional host! The cabin felt secluded and off the grid, while still being close enough to town and amenities when needed. The drive in was a little rough in spots, but taking it slow made it manageable! The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable, and stocked with the essentials—the cots, chairs, and solar lights were especially helpful!! Our pup had so much fun exploring the woods. We also spent some time down by the pond and even managed to catch a huge bass, which was a highlight of the trip! Robert was incredibly communicative, accommodating, and kind throughout our stay. We unexpectedly had to cut our trip short, and he was extremely understanding and generous during the situation. We truly appreciated his hospitality and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Sweet spot with a cool river and pond! The road isn’t too bad w 2wd if it’s dry but if it’s wet you may need to hike 1000ft to the cabin. Would recommend if you’re looking for a more remote feel.

Secluded woods and water

Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond
Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance. Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

I don’t think there’s anything that could have made my stay here any better. It was exactly what I was looking for- pond is beautiful and close, the cabin was clean, the whole stay was very quiet and felt secluded despite being really close to Belfast. There were more supplies than I expected too- I’m used to dispersed camping where I have to bring everything and was pleasantly surprised by how thoughtfully supplied it is. The host was wicked helpful, responsive, and friendly too, plus gave me helpful tips on hiking in the area. Bonus: saw lots of wildlife from the cabin and at the pond :) I’m jealous of how awesome the setup is, I’m going to just have to book it again in the future!

I want to start by saying what a great host Bob is...so very nice and got back to me right away with any questions we had and also reached out with any additional info we may want or need. My husband and I and our two Golden's wanted a well-deserved getaway which was private, secluded and "out in the woods" which we love and also access to water. Bob's place was exactly that. We spent our 4 days at the pond as it was in the 90s. The pond was just wonderful...large shaded area and such a great breeze everyday. We were in the water a lot and used the provided kayak to paddle around and great fishing there as well. Water was low this time of year and rocky bottom but we had our water shoes. Our golden's had the time of their life exploring the woods and trails (if they were not in the water which was a lot!) We did not see another person, extremely private. We look forward to going back again sometime for another little getaway.

We loved staying at Bob's camp! It was so peaceful and had everything you need to enjoy a true rustic experience. We enjoyed fishing at Tilden Pond in our canoe where we caught a few bass! Our dogs got to enjoy exploring and relaxing in the sun. We will plan to return next year, thanks Bob!

The campsite was amazing. My fiancé and I loved the seclusion and privacy of the campsite. So many additional amenities inside the cabin to use and our rescue Lexa had plenty of space to zoom around on. Definitely make sure to have an off roading vehicle though or it may get bumpyyyy. It was wonderful, thank you so much Robert!😊

My family and I had a great weekend on Tilton Pond. The little cabin was great for storing stuff although too small for us to really spend time inside. Would be great for 2 people if they didn’t want to pitch a tent. The pond had a great breeze and my boys enjoyed kayaking. My son caught a small mouth bass! If you’re going to be tenting be cautious there aren’t a lot of options where to set it up when things are overgrown.

Robert was an amazing host! He was very communicative and we got to the property after dark and his directions were very clear. After driving up for days it was nice not to have to set up our tent for a night! We didn’t end up doing a fire or making it to the pond. We wish we would have booked for two nights instead of just one. Robert is very intentional having a lot of things you may need in the cabin, such as tick remover, first aid kit, lights, etc. If we ever are back in the area, we will be back!

Perfect location for "getting away from it all", but yet close to all amenities if needed. Robert is a class act, communication is wonderful and he will go out of his way to make sure you're taken care of. Looking forward to going back in the near future. I had a great time at Robert's cabin. I was very pleased with the necessities that were provided: camp chairs, a grille to set cookware on over the fire, and a tick removal kit were among the highlights. I had fun exploring the property and paddling Tilden Pond. I did get my 2WD car stuck in the mud on the way out, though, so coming in a 4WD vehicle would be best!

Winter camping( yes winter camping)

I have left reviews before but this was my first time winter camping there. First , yes it was cold but if your prepared you should do just fine. I'm truly torn on if it's more beautiful in the summer or the winter! The fresh snow on the trees made for great scenery as we walked down to check out the pond. Although frozen, we choice to not press our luck lol. But I will be back for the beautiful fishing I know awaits. wildlife tracks everywhere! It was truly an experience and I look forward to another return!

Beautiful pond and lots of privacy. Nice that the little cabin had things you might have forgotten to bring camping. Chairs, a lighter, trash bags etc. You have a lot of land and beautiful pond to yourself, unlike a campground. The host was really communicative and helpful with our stay!

The host bob was great to communicate with and has a beautiful camp on Tilden pond. The views of the woods is beautiful and the pond is good for fishing along with canoeing or kayaking. It’s a great place to reset and get off your PHONE! (Yes, there was phone service , lol) Definitely, will be coming back!
