It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Our property is 15 minutes South, from I75, 10 minutes from any restaurant or publix. We are a 2 mile drive down a dirt road, through the state forest. We offer 2-3 acres of a choose your own spot camping area. Located within the Picayune Strand State Forest, full of peace and quiet, and plenty of birds. We have a facility building that runs off a generator for running water. With that, we have a washroom, that consists of a large shower, and 2 bathroom stalls. we have then propane heated hot water for a nice hot shower. The sites are very " free range". Nothing that is too designated, so you have a free choice of where to pitch your tent, or park your camper van, or your RV. Come and stay within the Evergaldes in Naples, of SWFL. A special private place like no other. You may have the place all to yourself, or share with others. It is not populated like other campgrounds. We really enjoyed our trip to Kings Kamp! Our site was large enough for a car and a tent and had clean picnic tables, and electric available. The bathrooms were very nice for a campground and offered ample privacy with two single room toilet, shower, and sink room. The sitting area on the water by the boat ramp was a great place to eat our meals.

Tight fit for if you’re camping in truck/tent but otherwise great spot on the water. Bathrooms/showers nice and clean. Quiet and a convenient location. Would stay again!

I’m still in disbelief in discovering this edenic oasis in the middle of Miami. The grounds were unexpectedly immaculate, spacious and aesthetically pleasing. Our host was gracious and attentive. Our stay could not have been improved except it be longer. We recommend without reservation.

Weekend Trip to J and P Creekside Retreat

My dog Marty and I had an awesome stay at Shell Creek—it’s truly a touch of old Florida! The campground sits right on a beautiful freshwater creek, and the peaceful setting made it easy to relax and enjoy nature. We stayed at Creekside Site B, which had a great view and plenty of shade.The hosts were fantastic—welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was just right. It’s a place that feels genuine, quiet, and full of that classic Florida charm. I’ll definitely be recommending Shell Creek to friends, and Marty and I will be back for sure!

Weekend Trip to Rasayana Cove

Amazing rustic getaway in old Florida! Property is beautiful! I will stay again. Be sure to check out Solomons castle right down the street. We really relaxed & enjoyed our time. So much wildlife. Horse creek is peaceful to walk along. We loved everything about this place! See you again one day!

Very laid back with a campsite surrounded by trees. Was looking for a staycation to take a break and rest received it in spades I'll be back. Really enjoyed Kayaking the creek Upstream.

County Lake is just beyond the campsite. Walking bridges and natural pathway allows a beautiful, serene, and partially shaded walk around the Lake. Catch and Release Fishing is permitted here.

I loved the scenic views and the sounds of wildlife. The property is great for walking, scenic photos, and provides a peaceful retreat from everyday life. The treehouse has a wrap around porch with pretty views on all sides. I loved the campfire area with wide benches a cozy two seater rocker. The host, Dennis, was very kind and knowledgeable.

Weekend Trip to Honeys Place: Urban Camping Oasis

John was an excellent host. He helped Hubs back the trailer in. He gave us tiki lights for our experience. The property is gorgeous with a mini beach and arigated(sp) water. If ever back in the area I would stay again! Was great.
