The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Welcome to Malakai Campgrounds Different by Design. I purchased this land several years ago after experiencing the heartbreaking loss of my daughter, JoLisa Marie Roadcap, whom we lovingly called "Little Jo." Her passing changed my life forever and taught me that faith, family, and enjoying the simple blessings of life are what truly matter.
In her memory, and as part of her legacy, my family and I created Malakai Campgrounds—a place where people can find peace, rest, and connection with God's creation. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or healing from life's hardships, we hope your time here brings comfort and renewal.
One of my favorite times of day is around 5:30 a.m., when the sun begins to rise. Step out onto the deck, listen to the birds singing, and watch a new day unfold. You may see dozens of species of birds, including the majestic Bald Eagle, endangered woodpeckers, blue herons, bluebirds, blue jays, mockingbirds, doves, and many others. We even have a nesting pair of bluebirds that return year after year. Occasionally, a small black bear may wander through the area as well.
We want your stay here to be peaceful, relaxing, and filled with opportunities to experience the natural beauty of Garcon Point. The area is home to several species of wild carnivorous plants, beautiful beaches, and unique ecosystems found nowhere else.
After 6 years of hard work, challenges, and perseverance, we are proud to say that we are officially a park and preserve. Our property features 9 acres of walking trails, with additional trails still being hand-built. Every path is created with care and respect for the land.
I truly believe this place carries a special spiritual strength that speaks to people from all walks of life and all nations.
A Brief History of Our Location
Following the Bernardo de Gálvez victory during the Siege of Pensacola, a land grant on Garcon Point was awarded to Antonio Garzon in recognition of his service as an interpreter to the Pensacola Indians. The property remained in the Garzon family for 35 years before being sold by Maria Garzon to Joseph Bonifay.

There are livestock guardian dogs that protect the farm. They sleep lots during the day and patrol at night so they bark lots at night...
We are a REAL WORKING FARM. You can join in on morning feeding or collet eggs. You can watch or help with morning milking!
If you are real adventurous you can help around the farm!!!
You can pitch you tent in the pine forest or in the open area next to the ponds!

We are conveniently located off of I-10 and hwy 231.

the campground is under an ancient canopy of oaks. so youll always have shade. the center of the property is unique to say the least but the campground is nature at its finest.
there is a 2.6 mile nature trail across from the campground to explore.
also there is a boat ramp for fishing about 1/8 mile away. you are welcome to roam over most of the 80 acres. We have goats, cows and chickens as well. All super friendly.

Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants.
This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers.
From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting.
We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

Wow both my Mother daughter and I feel so blessed that we got the chance to stay at Eric’s spot . Eric and his family are truly fun, kind and so generous - it was a gem to hear tips from someone local born and raised in the area . We felt so blessed to be staying in this peaceful sanctuary far from the hustle and bustle of busy Destin . If you’re looking for a boat trip we highly recommend Erics family boat business- we went with Erics wife a seasoned boat captain on a gorgeous private boat ride where we saw mama and baby dolphins and got to swim in those clear blue waters ! So grateful for this stay and we hope to be back in future ! 10/10!!

There is nothing I can say here that would give this place the review it deserves. It has everything and more! The cherry on top is the owner is a literal saint of a person. I would recommend this place to anyone who even wants to try camping for the first time. This was my first experience camping and I can already tell this is gonna be a frequent spot for me and my friends. Please give it a try if you wish to see a tremendous view of the sunset and sunrise and hang out with all the awesome adorable farm animals! -pro tip bring feed corn so you have something to give them! There is a tractor supply not far from it.

Frank was very accommodating and friendly. The site was quiet. There was a farm/makers market on Saturday morning which was a pleasant surprise. Bathrooms were clean. Bar on site with live music. Plenty to walk around and see. Definitely would stay again.
No shade on site 4, so bring shade coverage.
My only complaint: fireants were abundant and a completely miserable experience. Gonna put bring fire ant killer on my list for future trips.

This was our second time staying at Eric's spot and it was once again wonderful! Incredibly easy to hook up electric, water, and sewer. He's added a nice outdoor sofa on the Hipcamp side of his property as well as a little fire pit, which he provided wood for. We enjoy strolling down to the dock and sitting on the adirondack chair. Downtown Fort Walton Beach has a few cool coffee shops and eateries which you can walk or bike to if you want to avoid the midday traffic.

We enjoyed our weekend stay. We had the site to ourselves and it was very peaceful. The water levels on the pond were very low (by what looks like at least 6 feet) but there was still quite a bit of water. The water lilies were in bloom. I caught a few small bass but surprisingly few panfish (I think they are being out-competed by the bass which are stocked). We saw quite a few birds and there was a pair of geese in the pond with their goslings and a muscovy duck which thought it was part of the family.
The utilities were great and very convenient. The site (#2) was quite flat and on typical Florida sand. Site #1 looked pretty rough though and I'm glad we opted for #2. It rained pretty hard one evening but it drained very well.
One note: the owner has dogs which stay on their side of a line of cones and asks that you do not take your dogs over the line (which is entirely reasonable and easily respected; there is a lot of room). However, you cannot leave the property on a dog walk without crossing the line. We loaded our dogs into the truck and went to a nearby trail head for walking.

I would rather not leave a review because I want this to not become too popular so I can have it more often. Stayed at the hideaway and we had a great time and it was very private and enjoyable. Did get rained out at night but that’s typical Florida this time of year. John is there if you need him but not hovering or anything. Peaceful well kept property with hammocks and docks and sitting areas to enjoy if you wish. Even a bar! Bring your own of course. We will be back and highly recommend it. Just don’t tell anyone!

What an amazing spot! Acres upon acres all to ourselves and our dog. Really friendly donkeys wandered our site, and maybe 25-30 cows were steps away behind a fence to interact with. Tom was a great host, we asked for a guided tour and he was more than willing to take us for a small sightseeing trip around his hundreds of acres.

Enjoyed our time on Taylor’s property! Peaceful and close to beaches we visited Venice Dog Beach with our fur babies wow what a wonderful off leash beach. The farm had 2 beautiful rescued horses, which were a beautiful site to watch as I had my morning coffee. Mike who attends to the horses greeted us was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be camping there again in the near future.

We tested out our new hammocks and it was a success! Moonpie is an incredible working farm… she had us watch the nightly process of milking about 11 goats and 3 cows. We also bottle fed two calves! The goat pen is super cute and the goats are very friendly. There are two very affectionate dogs on the property who kept us safe throughout the night. The farm has delicious treats too, so definitely stop in the store. I love working farm life, especially all of the geese and farm noises. Would absolutely recommend

My family had such a great time camping here! The kids enjoyed riding on the jon boat and pedal boat, jumping off the dock and swinging on the tree swing. A fun added bonus was seeing the cows and horses just over the fence.
