Nestled in the foothills of the Tahoe National Forest, our Retreat Center offers a variety of accommodations to suit your needs, from 10 to 60. (SEE BELOW.) We are six minutes to several locations on the Yuba River and twenty minutes to Bullard’s Bar. Located just 15 short miles from the historic communities of Nevada City and Grass Valley, Willow Springs is a place to escape and re-connect with what is important, creating memories. We also incorporate principles of sustainability at Willow Springs, with an on-site educational herb and permaculture garden for which a self-tour is available (free) and a guided tour upon request. Fresh produce possible depending upon season and availability.
We operate ala carte with our accommodations so we can customize your experience to meet your needs. You can choose one or more of the following:
GROUP CAMPGROUND: This one-acre fenced in area allows for guests (Max 30) to bring their dogs and pitch tents in a protected area with an expansive view. Camp cooking has never been easier, as the community kitchen is well equipped with 2 full-sized refrigerators, gas stove/oven, pots and pans, dishware, silverware, triple sink, and two outdoor barbeques. The cooks will especially appreciate our unique outdoor “dishwashing station” for each individual (even kids!) to efficiently wash their own dishes instead of using throw-away plastic for each meal. Our bathhouse has two private toilets, two private showers with hot water and a double sink. Bring your own towels and toiletries.

YURT: A 20’ yurt (sleeps 4) is equipped with a full bed and queen sofa for members of your camping group that would like greater comfort. Limited electricity is available.

THE AREA
RiverSea East is located on the San Juan Ridge, an area near Nevada City and Grass Valley that extends about 24 miles between the south and middle forks of the Yuba River.
A small Nevada County community far removed from town, modern day North San Juan is part hippie, part isolationist, part new age and part conservative.It's only a 20 minute drive from downtown Nevada City, but since you have to drive up and down the heavily forested, windy river-canyon road, it feels rather remote. When you get there, it consists of less than ten businesses scattered around the mountains, a bushel of dreadlocked hippies, a bunch of pot farms, a vineyard, and LOTS of empty, undeveloped wood, making North San Juan a really beautiful place, surrounded, as it is, by forested mountains and rivers.
North San Juan is a great place to explore. There's all kinds of hidden spots, neat places to go, river access with good swimming holes and little stores and cafes. This area is spotted with little organic farms, beautiful little houses and the occasional run-down looking trailer.Farm, house OR trailer, because North San Juan and the Ridge are so sparsely populated, every residence seems to have acres of property that the people are free to plant, enjoy or neglect at will.

PETS: Your well-behaved dog is welcome with advanced permission and agreement to our pet policy for an additional $10.00 per night. As this is a wilderness area with abundant wildlife, do not let your dog wander outside at night unattended. NEVER leave your dog unattended at the yurt or let them roam unleashed in the woods. We bought this 1 Acre property surrounded by crops in 2013. The original farm house was built in 1952. It was a local hang out for all the kids on this road, of which most still currently reside. Our journey started here with a simple little cute house surrounded by dirt... We have worked non stop to make it our home. We've added a shop, built a master suite and put in trees, gains and pool. We built a poolhouse for guests and have added it to the airbnb community. We later built a pig barn and expanded our chicken coop. We enjoy gardening, growing pumpkins for our grandkids. We have multiple fruit trees in hopes to have lots of fruit to share . We love be outside 99% of the time. BBQ & sports, are always enjoyed, especially if it's football!

We have tiny rooster, Little John, 17 hens and a mini schnauzer. Fresh eggs are always available during your stay. We’re 2.5 miles from city limits. Close enough to stores and restaurants but far enough away for a quiet stay. We have lots of local winery’s within 20 minutes, hot air ballooning and an abundance of lakes within a few hours. So she was very accommodating and helpful to make this a less stressful situation. Weekend Trip to The Yuba Yurt
The Yuba Yurt was everything we wanted! The Yurt itself was great! It was very cozy and inviting, we were able to make ourselves right at home. We did encounter a frog or 2 but they were more than happy to be relocated. We were able to cook ourselves breakfast and dinner with ease thanks to the well stocked kitchen and outdoor grill. While the grill is small and a bit flimsy it definitely does the job! My wife got to enjoy a soak in the outdoor tub and enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with the location. If you follow the directions as provided you shouldn’t have any issue finding the Yurt. 10/10 will be back!

My husband and I just stayed at the yurt for the second time in 7 years. The last time was in the first year of dating, and our first time away together. The yurt was just as magical the second time around, as a married couple. It has everything you need, is private, pet friendly and really close to the Yuba River and incredible swimming. Even though the temperature reached the high 90’s, it stayed fairly cool as it is shaded by trees and has fans to keep the air moving. The outdoor tub was a great feature. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Mirabella
The yurt is in very well kept condition and can be very warm in there with the fireplace warming up the whole house. We personally loved spending time by it and preferred sleeping in the loft that gave us a nice morning sky view through the ceiling window. The yurt is also close to Nevada city, grass valley, south yuba park.
Judith is also very accommodating and very friendly. We would love to stay here again and would like try it in the spring or fall season.

4 nights at The Yuba Yurt
We have been to the Yuba Yurt twice now and have had an excellent experience both times! The yurt feels super secluded and the bathtub outside gets hotter water than at my own house. The nature around the yurt is absolutely gorgeous, especially with all of the manzanita. The full kitchen is super convenient for if you don't leave the yurt but still want home cooked food. We first went for new years of 2022 right after a snowstorm. The fireplace in the yurt kept us warm enough we didn't even notice the few inches of snow outside. Our most recent trip earlier this January had beautiful weather and it was great to be able to explore the nearby hiking trails. Both Nevada city and grass valley both have excellent food as well. Tuscany gardens and brewhause both were great restaurants and treated my partner and I great for her birthday. All in all we've loved coming to the yurt both times and definitely plan to return again.

3 nights at The Yuba Yurt
This is our second stay at the yurt, but our first stay in the winter-- loved it. The wood-burning stove was a hit, and kept the space warm and festive.
