Hickman Family Vineyards – A Wine Country Escape in the Sierra Foothills Our love affair with wine began in the late ’90s, surrounded by the vineyards of Sonoma County. The tasting rooms, the people, the passion—it was contagious. Alyse found herself working for a boutique winery owned by Korbel, gaining an inside look at the magic behind the bottle. Inspired, we began dreaming of our own place—a vineyard built from the ground up with family, heart, and hard work. In 2002, we found that perfect piece of land. Set at 800 feet elevation with rolling hills, majestic oaks, and wide open skies, we planted our first acre of Zinfandel in 2005 and officially opened Hickman Family Vineyards to the public on Mother’s Day 2011. Since then, our family—kids included—has been hands-on with every aspect of the vineyard, winery, and tasting room. Now, we’re excited to share that experience with you. Our campsite offers a peaceful retreat in the Sierra Foothills, just a short drive from three nearby lakes and under star-filled skies free of city lights. Come relax, sip wine, and soak up the quiet beauty of our land. Whether you're pitching a tent under the stars or parking your RV on one of our convenient hookup pads (additional charge for hookups), you’ll enjoy a peaceful stay surrounded by vineyard views and fresh country air. Explore the scenic beauty of the region with nearby hiking, swimming, and boating or simply unwind with a glass of wine in hand or try our Flavor Moonshines from Cobble Ridge Distillery. As the sun dips below the horizon, take in a dazzling stargazing experience under our clear skies—perfect for catching shooting stars. With great weather all year long, you can enjoy our outdoor amenities, including picnic areas, bocce ball courts, cornhole, BBQ grills. Guests have access to 2 winery bathrooms with toilets and sinks. As a working vineyard and winery, you'll also encounter a variety of friendly farm animals depending on the season—Mini horse, donkeys, and horses, and our beloved vineyard dogs who keep watch over the vines. Be sure to visit our Tasting Room, open every weekend, where we offer both wine and spirit tastings crafted right here on-site. Sunset to Sunrise on a Vineyard

This is a very unique setting to camp. Our host Alyse was very hospitable, made us feel at home at our site, and communicated very well. We had such an amazing view of the sunset and sunrise over her vineyards. The site is a large leveled concrete and it was nice not having to set up leveling blocks for our roof top tent. There are very clean spacious bathrooms a short wall from camp. We loved being able to taste her wine and spirits on the weekend, which I have to say were delightfully unique. We had a great time talking to her about wine and travel. One of our favorite outdoor experiences to date. Thank you Alyse!

The wine tasting was so wonderful with a beautiful wine tasting room. This is the best wine I have ever had. Alyse is super nice and her husband is a wonderful. made some homemade pizza and drank right in the vinyard and looked at the nice cool pond stared at millions of stars. Woke up to taking pictures in the vinyard best pictures I've ever taken. ps the moonshine is unimaginable.

Amazing time at the vineyards. The host was so responsive. Clear communication. Bathrooms were clean and accessible all night. The location was dog friendly. Really enjoyed the atmosphere- will be back again! There is even a pig you can feed your scraps to and a pond right next to the site. Easy to find, fun to do a wine or moonshine tasting and just wander back to your tent. Really glad I found this hidden gem. Will be back for sure.

We had a great time camping at the vineyard. Only three groups can camp at a time so there wasn’t much noise from other campers. The vineyard is beautiful, wine is yummy, and bocce was fun!

We arrived at dusk and as things were winding down for the day. We were still greeted by Todd, one of the owners, who was delightful and treated us to a tasting of their delicious wines and bourbons. It was a great spot for us to stay for the night and would definitely recommend!

Alyse was very pleasant and accommodating to our group, who had a different accommodation fall through at the last minute. She was very quick to respond to the request for booking as well. Upon arrival, it was less than ten minutes from the time the winery closed and she still offered us a tasting of wine/spirits, which we enjoyed very much! I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back if we’re in the area again In the future

Unique and beautiful campsite! We had a lovely wine tasting, and Alyse kindly gave us tips on places to cool down in the heatwave. Was nice waking up to sunrise over the vineyard.

We loved staying at Alyse’s Hipcamp! Beautiful location, easy-access spots with shade and a view, and delicious wine and moonshine tasting on top of it all. It was a perfect spot for a quick getaway and we would absolutely return.

Alyse was so helpful and the property was beautiful. We loved making pizzas in the pizza oven (although I recommend bringing a peel if you use the oven, they didn’t have one). We opted to camp by the playground because the main location was pretty sloped. Alyse’s daughter, Kira, and Alyse’s friends did a wine and moonshine tasting for us when we got in and it was amazing. Looking forward to coming back one day!

My group of 14 ladies and I had a fantastic stay at the vineyard. We arrived just in time to do a little tasting and then pretty much had the place to ourselves after the tasting room closed. There was plenty of space for us to spread our tents out. I loved waking up and watching the sunrise over the grapevines from my tent. Having real toilets and running water was a definite perk. All of the ladies were so happy with our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

We picked the site by the pond. It was very peaceful and quiet. All you hear are the different animals. We felt very safe and they also have flushing toilets. Well kept and maintained grounds. It was such a fun experience camping by the vineyards.
