My husband and I (and our dog!) celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Cozy Cabin. Lynda and Rich have created an adorable creekside oasis! From hanging out on the comfortable porch to walking our dog around the creek, in the woods and to the skatepark to our nightly activity of watching the bats swooping over the creek with a warm fire. The cabin has everything you need and the bed is very comfortable. We highly recommend The Cozy Cabin and we'll be back!

We booked this place for a long weekend getaway and the experience was beyond our expectations! Lynda and Rich put their hearts and souls into creating this beautiful paradise! Truly the best campsite ever! To be so close to the ocean was unbelievable. Small site but totally worked for us. So happy the landowners share their wonderful property with all of us. We will definitely be back!! Only disappointment was the portable toilet. It was dirty and needed to be emptied.

The river access at Joelle's place was excellent with private beach spaces and swimming holes. The campsite was spacious and had lovely big trees as well as a large open grassy spot. Floating on the river was tranquil and perfect.

Beautiful spot. We tent camped in the meadow, really enjoyed the redwood grove for our tent location. Great proximity to Bodega Bay. The owners are very accommodating, we enjoyed fresh duck eggs, and ground beef from the mercantile, and and we really enjoyed the walk on the property in the trees. Will definitely come back!

Absolutely loved this campsite!! We had site 9, which is one of the more private ones. There is a spot across the road and down below that site where another group could be and see our area, but no one was there so it was definitely quiet. But even so, the other site across from it is far enough away. The description said there is a possibility of the rare passing of vehicles because it is a working cattle ranch, but we didn’t see a single car pass in the three days. Such a beautiful densely forested area and soooo many birdsongs in the morning. Very clean, the provided outhouses near certain sites have outdoor sinks next to them and are very well maintained. I will be back here to camp again FOR SURE. Thank you Daniel for a gem of a camping spot!

Great for tent camping! There’s a couple miles of single lane roads that might b difficult for larger rvs. Site 1-3 good for rvs or larger family groups. Other sites nicely dispersed. Beach and hiking nearby. Enjoyed our stay!

Our family of four + dog stayed in site #4 and really enjoyed it. We camped Sunday-Tuesday so it was really low key. This site was really private; we barely saw anyone else. Bathrooms were port-a-potties but were clean and had a handwashing pump station outside. Easy to get self-service wood for $15/bundle. The campground is tucked away a bit so it feels pretty remote if that's what you're looking for. We drove the 15-20 minutes or so to Doran Beach and hung out for the afternoon one day. We also took the kids fishing at nearby Hagemann Ranch. I could see us coming back and bringing another family. There were a few cool sites that were close to each other that I thought would make fun group sites where you could have two campsites and an entire field to yourself. Altogether we had a good time.

We had an amazing time staying at John & Lesley’s ranch. The area was beautiful and peaceful, and the sites were very well maintained. The drive down to the sites was so fun! Also highly recommend buying some of their beef, we had the flank steak and it was delicious! So good, we had to bring some home. Our pup thoroughly enjoyed the trails and trees, and we are already planning when we can come back!

Weekend Trip to Creek View Tree House

Sue was a very accommodating host- we booked last minute & she made us feel welcome. The deck was a dream with a gorgeous view of the trees & creek & TWO hammocks! We slept peacefully in the comfy bed to the lull of cute frog sounds. Great proximity to coffee, food, swimming spots & beaches. A nice crash pad when you want to dip in the river & try one of the many good restaurants. We weren’t sure about the outhouse on the listing but it was immaculate. This little cabin might not have all the facilities & appliances, but for a short trip who cares? For a spontaneous overnight we didn’t need to cook or shower- just wanted to get out of the city, take in some nature, read in a hammock- mission accomplished! Only issue was chainsaw noise coming from the next property, which sort of broke the otherwise chill vibe. Sue assured us it was out of the ordinary & did her best to make it up to us by kindly offering a discount on our next stay. Looking forward to a do-over, which I’m sure will result in 100% relaxation. Adding Sue’s spot to our list of Russian River haunts!

We stayed on the bluff overlooking the river and it was so beautiful. Definitely loved the hammock that was provided. The river access to the island was a bit treacherous with the current, so make sure to bring water shoes!

Finley Camp

Finley Camp is nestled along Finley Creek in West Sonoma County. Campsites are located in open flats surrounded by Coast Doug Fir, Alder, and California Bay forests. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate, and access to a porta potty and hand washing station. The campsites are located past the end of the county road allowing for a quiet peaceful experience. Enjoy a quiet stroll on site, the surrounding communities of Bodega, Bodega Bay, Valley Ford, and Tomales, or just enjoy a quiet day in camp. Our sites are located approximately 20 minutes from Bodega Bay. The campsites are 2.5 miles from the coast and the weather can be unpredictable. As a general rule, it is very similar to that of San Francisco. All camp sites are situated in a valley that offers protection from the coastal winds. The have both morning and evening shade. Sites #2, #6, #7, and #11 have the most space, while sites #4, #7, #8, #9 and #11 offer the most privacy. Sites 1-3, any combination of 5-7, and 12-13 are well suited for groups. Other site groupings work well depending on the number of sites being reserved. Site #8 is unique in that it has a wood deck/platform for tents. There are also NO wood fires allowed at site #8 as it is under the tree canopy. A propane firepit is provided for your use. You can bring a 5 gallon propane tank from home, or a full one is available for rent on site. We have beef available for purchase from calves raised exclusively on our ranch. This beef is 100% grass fed and finished and never given grain of any kind. We have various cuts available such as steaks, ground, roasts, ribs, or other various specialty cuts. All beef is cut and wrapped by a USDA certified butcher. It is raised in an organic manner from cows that freely roam on the pastures of the coastal hills we call home. For further information or for a price sheet, please inquire with the camp host. Well behaved dogs are welcome at Finley Camp. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times while on the property. There are no exceptions to this. Finley Camp is located on an active cattle ranch and directly adjacent to a neighboring ranch with cattle. Also be sure to check out our orchard tours. The apples ripen from Late July thru late November. We'll take you to our family orchard where you can pick apples, pears, or blueberries in season and taste yummy treats out of our family garden.

Timber Cove Campground

Located right off coastal US highway 1, Timber Cove campground sits right at the edge of breathtaking, oceanside cliffs. We are situated on roughly two acres of land, with multiple campsites for tent/car camping or RV’s. Each bluff campsite has a picnic table, fire pit and water. Electricity is available to use for an extra fee. The beach and waterfall campsites do not have picnic tables so you might want to bring one if you’ve booked there. We have separate men’s and women’s flush bathrooms, with coin-operated hot showers. We have firewood with kindling for sale on site, payable with cash or Venmo. Please take note of local fire bans, when in effect. Dog friendly, though be advised a leash is recommended as we are close to the road, but they can run leash-free down at the beach. We are located 30 minutes north of the town of Jenner, with Gualala 30 minutes to the north. Gualala has grocery stores, a post office, and some shops. Fort Ross Store is located one mile down the road, just before Timber Cove, and sells basic food necessities, drinks, sandwiches, ice and gas. Internet cell service can be spotty in our area, depending on your provider, so bring your own Starlink services if you have them. We also have access to the beach below, and offer beach camping as well. Take note that the road down to the beach is steep with uneven terrain. The weather can vary quickly here, so be sure to bring multiple layers of clothing and camp gear for various types of weather, and headlamps are useful for getting around the property at night! We hope you’ll come visit our little slice of heaven on the ocean cliffs, gaze at the stars, marvel at the sunsets, watch the harbor seals dozing on their rocks and the many bird species that inhabit our property. Salmon Creek Ranch

Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. A limited number of private, widely spaced camp spots are available for visitors. The Eagles' Nest Treehouse (mentioned above) is very isolated and you may or may not even be aware that there are other people within miles of you. For those who value nature, seclusion, quiet and the artistry of old growth redwood, this is the place for you.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this. PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. About the Property: Above the Clouds campsite is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and overlooks the Valley of the Moon with a stunning mountain view. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Think: toilet paper, cookware, bathing suits if you like, etc. - We do not have wifi available on site and cell reception is spotty, especially for certain carriers. We are about 7 minutes South of Middletown proper. We do have neighbors so noise is acceptable until 9pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends.
