With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. This picturesque pasture borders Wilkinson Creek and is conveniently located just 13 minutes from the entrance gate of Harbin Hot Springs and 26 minutes from downtown Calistoga. Surrounded by a 140-acre privately owned nature preserve on two sides, you'll relish in abundant wildlife sightings and the serenity of nature, away from the crowds. You'll have access to filtered drinking water from a hose and spigot, along with breathtaking mountain views and almost complete privacy, as vehicle traffic is minimal, limited to ours and our neighbors', which is set back from the pasture but partially visible. This is the perfect spot to host a private group camp where you can enjoy nature while being close to town. This is NOT the place to throw your alcohol fueled party or bring any sort of guns. We are about 7 minutes South of Middletown proper. We do have neighbors so noise is acceptable until 9pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends. We provide compost, recycling, and trash options, and it's ESSENTIAL to use the correct receptacle. Please note that our portion of the property is home to horses, dogs, and chickens, which you will briefly pass through before entering your fully fenced pasture. We loved our two-night stay in November. Colleen and her dog Mimi were so delightful and welcoming to my family and two large woofers. The space fitted our 27 foot Airstream easily and the views were spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset when the tule fog happened to be in the valley and we floated above.

1 night at Stemple Creek Ranch

After a week in the bustle of Carmel and Carmel Valley we needed a quiet place to stay going north. A three plus hour drive to the ranch was enough. Having a perfect place to camp by ourselves and not having to deal with anyone was ideal. A few cows came up the fence and checked us out. The night was dark and very quiet and being treated as a capable adults and taking care of ourselves was ideal. Will definitely stay there again.

Awesome. Secluded, and pretty. No cell service but thats whats amazing about it. . They left the wood i bought at my site for me when I arrived. Awesome. Thanks. I didn't see a single person. Just me my dog and some food whiskey and fire. It was really great. . Thanks for letting me stay

Weekend Trip to Salmon Creek Ranch

I had a great time camping at Creekside Camp #1. We had a tent and a rooftop tent set-up. The site is right next to the entrance / gate and next to the round, which made it easily accessible and non-4WD or AWD friendly. The road is relatively quiet with minimal cars driving through. The site is next to site #2, but appreciate that there were trees separating the two sites. You do have to walk through campsite #2 to go get to the toilet. The creek had minimal water and there was a designated crossing area that was marked with signs. We enjoyed walking through all the trails in the property with our dog. The mercantile had a lot selection and the meat quality is very good.

Clean, quiet campground. Very friendly, communicative staff. We stayed in the Creekside spots. Sites were flat. Easy access to the creek, but you can only see the creek from Creekside #3. I also recommend the duck eggs and goat sausage from the mercantile!

Our group of five had such a wonderful experience at campsite 3! The big clearing that hosts sites 1-3 has plenty of space between each site so that you do not feel crowded. You’re nestled in a valley with protection from wind. The campfire amenities were wonderful, really appreciated having a shovel and water for the fire. We felt so secluded and had no problem fitting our cars and tents with space to spare.
