RV camping near Clovis

92% (2608 reviews)

Part of the San Joaquin Valley in Central California, the city of Clovis has a rather flat landscape. But a short drive to the east reveals the full expanse of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. From this "Gateway to the Sierras," RVers have access to mountain vistas that dramatically change in topography, fauna, and flora. Check out Yosemite National Park for river rafting and waterfalls, or visit Sierra National Forest for 1.3 million acres of wilderness. Forest RV campsites only have basic amenities, so campers with larger travel trailers may want to consider private RV campsites with full hookups and space for big rigs. Many RV campsites also have modern conveniences like wifi. Temperatures in the San Joaquin Valley can soar into the 100s in summer, and the area has faced severe droughts for several years, making water hookups at Clovis RV parks a valued commodity. At mountain elevations, weather changes dramatically, with possible snowfall in winter.

Our families heritage in the San Joaquin Valley is over 100 years, we are California grown! The land was purchased from the railroad in 1919 by Grandpa Coen when he immigrated to the USA after his service to the British Empire during WW1. Grandpa established and maintained the vineyards during his life in California's Central Valley which he left to his daughter, Irene. She kept the farming tradition going with her husband, Al, and they expanded by purchasing surrounding land and planting more vines. Today their daughter, Cheryl, and son-in-law Randy, continues the family farming tradition for the next century. Please note! Caruthers Fair is September 24-27th.
