Skunks, jackrabbits, deer, foxes and very rarely a mountain lion or bear can be found on our 5 acres of forested land. There is a fishpond with water lilies, mini golf course and pétanque court (both with equipment in a useful shed close by), a horse shoe ring and beautiful, natural secluded spots in the redwoods perfect for meditation and vision questing. Huckleberry bushes and ferns grow abundantly. The place lends itself to self-reflection and introspection. There is space for 1 RV with a patio table and chairs and some sun loungers. There are also 2 tent sites available on the property, located in one large area, further away from the RV sites. Barely 7 minutes away is downtown Gualala, with amenities such as 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, bakery, restaurants and more. There is a beautiful holistic gift store, The Sea Trader, Four Eyed Frog Bookstore, and some lovely art galleries in town. Kayaking is available at the Gualala River. Hiking at Gualala Regional Park, the Bluff Trail, The Sea Ranch public access beaches, Stump Beach, Salt Point Park with a petrified forest, Bowling Ball Beach with its amazing natural formations (can only be seen fully at low tide of more than -0.2m), Manchester State Beach, Elk Beach, and more. Swimming at the Navarro River, and various bays. It is a place of incredible scenic beauty all along CA 1. Watch whales spouting during whale season. (Gray whales and orcas is December to May. For humpbacks, visit May through November, and for blue whales, the largest animal on Earth, plan your stay between July and October). Bower Park, just 0.5 miles away with a lovely lake, tennis courts, a baseball field, a basketball court, and two separate playgrounds. Play disc golf or hike along the nature trail/fitness course. Anchor Bay is 5 miles up CA 1, with a supermarket, a few cafes, restaurants (including a great Thai place!) laundromat, hair salon, and more. The quaint town of Point Arena is 12 miles north, with a supermarket, Frannie's Cup And Saucer, The Bird Cafe, a beautiful historic lighthouse, a theater, a pier, a mini-safari park (B Bryan Preserve with zebras, giraffes and more. Tours need to be booked in advance). Also visit Roots, a natural pharmacy for herbs, teas and supplements.
There are also spots like Occidental, Bodega Bay, Jenner (with the Russian River to kayak and swim) and Timber Cove, all on the way to Gualala from the south. Bodega Bay has lovely spots to eat, with clam chowder, fish and chips. Enjoy wind and water sports, and walk on the pier.

Lulu’s Landing and Captain Wack’s Cove is a pirate-themed Creekside hangout, where you can enjoy a fire, except during banned season. Also a great place to capture a glimpse of the numerous critters that cruise our creek. Foxes, Deer, Squirrels, Otters, Ducks and Herons as well as numerous songbirds that feed from our bird feeder.
Lulu’s Lanai is a Flamingo-themed outdoor living room and dining area with fun vintage furniture and décor.
The Take- A -Liki- Tiki Shower Shack is a great place to cool off and clean up after a day on the river or exploring tidepools at the coast. There is even a puppy bath station behind it for your furry friends!
The Wack Shack is our outdoor bar and grill, full of fun, colorful lights and signs. There’s plenty of equipment to cook there: appliances, a BBQ, sink, fridge and walk-up bar.
We also have several apple trees, a pear tree, and tons of blackberries when in season to share with our guest. Our Veggie Garden will be available next season to enjoy also. We are constantly improving our property so please stay in the finished designated guest areas only until we open up the coming attractions.
There are plenty of sites and destinations within minutes from our home too! We have Tennis, Pickle Ball, and Basketball Courts around the corner. The Russian River/ Monte Rio public beach is a short walk past the Parks and Recreation Center, and they rent Kayaks and Canoes during the summer months. The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike
Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere!
During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past.
We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. There are several restaurants along the river as well as a small grocery store, movie theater, and a Homemade Ice Cream Parlor that are all close enough to walk to or drive. Guerneville is a quick 4 mile drive and has a Safeway and many restaurants and quaint shops too.

Even though Deep Creek has never had any known cases of amoeba outbreaks, be advised that the warm waters around hot springs can carry a sometimes fatal amoeba.
*Although children are permitted at most sites on the property (children are not permitted at the cabin or spring pool sites), we do not recommend bringing them due to occasional nudity that may be seen in the area and the degree of difficulty for the hike. Our 160-acre property is surrounded by about a million acres of National Forest. Our neighborhood is all made of trees, huckleberry bushes and animals. We love it here. It is very remote, peaceful, and functionally sustainable in its focus. The closest neighbor is a Buddhist Hermitage about a mile up the forestry road. Also, supposedly, Sasquatch live here! (it is the epicenter for documented sightings).
Most visitors to the area are interested in spending time in the redwoods – we are about 30-45 minutes from the nearest entrance to Jedediah Smith Park, home of Stout Grove and other beautiful redwood hikes. Driving into Crescent City, about 45-60 minutes, winds you right through the "gentle giants" on your way to or from Redwood National Park.
We are self-sufficient, and sustainable in a relatively primitive set-up, especially after the fire this year. It's mountainous and remote, and we have a community agreement about no smoking (of any kind) on our land.

Situated an easy 4 miles from the nearby charming seaside town of Trinidad, and 1.5 miles away from popular Moonstone Beach, this space offers privacy, access to Nature, and a wee respite from the busy outside world. While you're here, enjoy a walk through the private loop trail or jaunt down to the beach, less than 2 miles away. Enjoy a bespoke picnic underneath the apple trees, or lay a round of disc golf on our 18-hole course onsite.
At night, roast some s'mores or sip some local wine or beer by the outdoor firepit. Or take a dip in the shared hot tub with with some world class stargazing time. Easy access to world-famous hikes through the redwoods, and several miles of pristine coastal access.
Guests will stay in the renovated barn, with two queen beds, a cozy outdoor sunroom, and lots of books and records on hand to enhance your stay. Inside is everything you will need for a thoroughly pampered "camping" experience: full-size fridge, electric range, microwave, coffee maker, tv and turntable, and wi-fi, plus a wood-burning stove to keep you warm while you're here.

We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house, and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here, are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. Please note the Cabin is set on a seasonal CANNABIS garden. All three sites are vacation spots with AC and WIFI, not just simple accommodations, but experiences. This will be your memorable stay for the year!
The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River which has a nice hiking trail alongside it or drive 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax where you will find gas, groceries, and restaurants. 10 minutes to Intersate 80 in Colfax. Feels far away, yet close to services and the interstate.
We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors, so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy! You can hoot and holler and have a great time!
In summer there is a 3-night minimum for the cabin and dome. Occasionally a two day midweek will pop up on the schedule last minute. To see correct pricing, enter your dates and number of adventurers, as they can fluctuate with holidays, weekends. Prices are decreased midweek.
We have 3 accommodations on the property

We had an awesome stay! The hosts were friendly, the farm animals were so cute, and there was an adorable cat as well. The shed was clean and comfortable and we slept well, and the facilities were really nice. We would definitely recommend!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! The drive up to the location is beautiful and secluded. You are at the top of a hill, so the panoramic view is stunning. We stayed in a cabana, and it was small but did the job. Your view is breathtaking as you're tucked in the woods without other guests in sight.
I will say it felt odd to be exposed at night, with large windows without curtains, but that is the magic of the place. The cabana does get hot since it's largely made of big windows, so if you're not a fan of heat, a callout.
The hosts were welcoming and gave us a tour of the grounds.

Weekend Trip to Wackalulu's Wonderland
I don’t even want to share how amazing this place is because I want to be able to book it again. However, Wakalulu is all about openness and connection. The hosts are amazing and show you everything you need or might want then flutter off into what I can only imagine is a castle in the woods for they are too magical to live like mere mortals. This place is curated and the pictures do not begin to do it justice. My only regret is we only stayed 2 nights. You need at least three to soak up the magic. We will be back.

This site has a restorative rustic romance to it that was perfect for myself and my young child. We had everything we needed and deeply enjoyed the whimsy and beauty of this well maintained and cared for site.
BBF was a perfect landing place for us with a lot of magic for children including sheep, chickens, and enclosed safe areas that kept a wild feeling but were close enough to camp that I was not fearful of him getting hurt or lost - so it allowed me to rest more as a parent.
The farm is beautiful and obviously cared for with a lot of delicate love and respect for the land.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sky View Cabana for a 3 night girl’s trip. The land is beautiful, with unbelievable views and a peaceful atmosphere. Both Vanessa and Ludo were warm, gracious hosts who were very responsive whenever we had a question. Both Santa Cruz and Monterey are easy day trips from this location, and it’s also incredibly grounding and relaxing so you may not want to leave! The king sized loft bed was very comfortable. Perhaps the only feedback is maybe to add a screen on the small window above the bed because that is the only airflow into the space and is nice to leave open overnight.

We loved this cute little spot! Our daughter wanted a quick ocean getaway for her 17th birthday and The Barn was such a cozy little place! The land is gorgeous. The hot tub was great after a day at the beach (Moonstone is right up the road!)...and some of the best seafood around is only a few miles away. This was our dog's first big trip and he couldn't have been more excited to play with Juniper. She's such a sweet pup. The wood stove made it so nice and cozy all night and my kids loved playing the music on the record player and piano. 10/10 would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Joyful Heart
It’s easy to understand why Malaina has all the high ratings she does.
The cabin was beautiful, comfortable, gave a great deal of privacy & the patio lights gave a great ambiance during the evening time. It’s also in a great location only 15 minutes away from historical towns of Colombia & Sonoroa.
The cabin was thoughtfully laid out with a mirror, board games, a headlamp for night time bathroom visits and easy access from the room to the large bathtub. The bed was so comfy and was great to sleep on after a long hike in Yosemite.
The kitchen setup was simple yet had just about everything we needed. It was also covered in shade due to the large oak tree and tarp keeping it cooler during the morning. Utensils, cutting board, pots/pans, large plates+small bowls, & a dual burner stove with a propane tank+a hand torch to light it. She even provided a cooler with ice & checked in to ask if we needed more and when she could drop it off to not invade our privacy.
The bathtub & outdoor shower were fantastic during our stay (mid July with highs into the 90s). The tub could be filled with hot or cold water to be used as a hot tub or as a pool (which is what we did). The shower was only hot water but it was a nice way to heat up after the cool pool. The handle for the shower is on the higher side so I did have to stretch a bit to reach it, but I am only 5’4.
We did have cellular connection so it was very easy to reach Malaina if there was anything we needed. 10/10 would stay again.

What a special place! The cabin is in an amazing private forest so it was perfect to get some peace and quiet far away from the city. The barn itself is huge for 2 people with a clean full kitchen. Ending the day with a dip in the jacuzzi, stargazing, and then warming up by the fire was so restful. It’s very close to the state and national parks but staying in was just as fun with all the movies, records, and games. Highly recommend!

While we didn’t have time to enjoy all of their wonderful amenities (including a community hot tub, store and personal fire pits) we really appreciated the ocean view from our room and the comfortable bed after a long day of travel and activities. The cabin was also stocked with essential items to elevate our glamping experience. We will absolutely be back

We stayed in the Quail "Rustic Camp Shed". The setup is definitely rustic, but cute and comfortable. The mattress is firm, so bring a foam pad if you prefer soft. Don't forget to bring your own pillows as well. There was only one on the bed (We had our own, so maybe there are more if you ask). The cooking, showers, and bathrooms are covered but outside so bring plenty of warm clothes as it will be colder than you think on the coast. The camp host was very friendly and the location is fantastic. Close to hiking, rock climbing, and beautiful beaches.

If you are looking for a relaxing aand rejuvenating respite from life, look no further. This home oceanview is has beautiful views of the Pacific Oceans. Darling interior with everything comfort you can think of to refresh your mind, body and soul. Gorgeous outside with seating areas for reading and eating. The hot tub was amazing. The outside shower was an extra treat. I can't wait until I can go back again.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Stargazer Cabin. It was quiet and very relaxing. The cabin had great amenities for the price including a jet tub, hot tub, fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, shower. The only thing was that there were no curtains/ blinds on any of the windows and although there is a perimeter fence around the property blocking it from view from neighbors it still made me feel a bit vulnerable, especially in the bathroom. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Weekend Trip to Thanktuary Retreat

The site is above the wind and fog line, lots of sunshine, Great Thai restaurants in Anchor bay and beach is dog friendly. Farmers market was fun ion Saturday. Hot tub and showers are a pleasant bonus, Treehouse is peaceful and clean , Deck is great for star watching.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Owl Land
Cute little cabin with friendly hosts and great views. Everything was very clean. We used the grill that was provided for us which made cooking really easy. We also had a chance to check out the yoga studio which was gorgeous and calming. We also enjoyed the hot tub which was well kept and had great calming views.
Be aware that the property has poison ivy - we had to be careful and I would recommend bringing boots and high socks. At the time of our visit, the shower water heater wasn't working which the hosts were informed about. It wasn't a big deal for us and hopefully will be fixed for future guests.

My partner, pup, and I loved our stay in the Cozy Cabin! Lynda, Rich, and Bogey have put together a beautiful space with a lot of charm and personality, from the common spaces (for lounging by the creek and in a new space under the trees for the warmer midday), to the repurposed door to the cabin. The creature comforts (heated water and heating pads for the bed) were much appreciated and our pup felt right at home and had so much fun exploring the property. The property is very conveniently located, with a local cafe (Lightwave) pretty much in the backyard of the property, and a convenience store and a tasty pizzeria (Wonderland) a short 15 minute walk away in Monte Rio. The Monte Rio Redwoods Trailhead (2.3 mile loop) and beach access to the Russian River were also within a 15 minute walk. We also enjoyed dinner a 15 minute drive away in the very dog-friendly Guerneville, and enjoyed activities on the Russian River half an hour away (and the drives are beautiful, with many wineries on the way!). My one tip for future hip campers is to make sure you download maps for the area beforehand - my service was very spotty, and the wifi connection in the Cabin came and went, though it is stronger in the common spaces!
