A three minute walk will get you to the Pioneer Trail which is a 25 mile non-motorized trail meandering through Tahoe National Forest, Bear Valley, and mountain lakes at its terminus. Open to hikers, bicyclists, equestrians and all lovers of the outdoors, the adventures are endless! Although there is cell service, there is no electricity or running water. There is an outdoor fire ring, a pit toilet on site and a portable heater and small camp stove for you to use... Just bring your own small propane canisters. At the "Platform of Pleasure" you will enjoy 100,000+ acre views of protected land looking North to the High Sierra, minutes away from downtown Nevada City and 8-10 miles from Yuba River Trailheads. Firewood bundles are $15 per bundle (2+ hours of campfire when campfires 🔥 are allowed). There is a $5.00 dog fee per dog/per stay. On our property like anywhere in the woods there are mosquitos, so you should bring bug spray. We offer a tent platform, as well as a canvas tent listing. We are continuously reducing the amount of waste we generate and actively promote recycling of aluminum, plastic, glass, and cardboard. We pack our own recycling and haul it to the nearest recycling facility which is an hour away. We co-opt the drive with other activities to reduce waste. We don’t use individually packaged toiletries or one-use products. We use plant and planet friendly detergent. We're based in a desert. We share our precious water with the entire planet. With only 326 million cubic miles of water on the earth, the decreasing amounts of access to quality fresh water is alarming to us. We monitor how we use water in our day-to-day activities and are constantly working on ways to reduce our consumption of fresh water resources. We hope you can help us maintain this greener camping! Its earth-filled dam was constructed in 1923 by the Walker River Irrigation District, along the East Walker River. The campground and marina was built I-don't-know-how-long ago, but it sure is nice! About Us: Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Join us for the classic camping and fishing experience with unique views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the Toiyabe National Forest, Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground is conveniently located near two distinct hot spring areas. A true angler's paradise, the Reservoir has excellent trout fishing from spring through fall and is close by to multiple rivers for incredible fly fishing. A short 30-minute drive to Tioga pass will bring you straight into the heart of Yosemite National Park. Off-road enthusiasts will have a heyday will the plethora of 4x4 trails in the area as well as the famous trail that brings you right to the Bodie Ghost Town. Climate & Ecosystem: At 6,400 feet (1,950 meters), this high desert climate has little to moderate tree coverage and gets hot during the days and cool at night. The conditions are much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. During your visit, you will notice many flying insects that resemble mosquitos. These Chironomidae are harmless and do not bite. On the contrary, the mosquito presence is very minimal. Lake Levels: Due to this devastating drought across California and the Western United States, reservoir levels are low. As of August 1st, 2022, Bridgeport Reservoir is approximately 25 feet below normal. Swimming is not advisable at this time, but fishing and boating activities are still up and running.

Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 hot water shower and plugs for charging phones, laundry shed with sink and hot water, one shared BBQ grill by the fence up above the creek, and an outdoor amphitheater. 25 minutes to Silicon Valley - 25 minutes to Santa Cruz Boardwalk we're centrally located in the south bay. Dogs and kids are welcome - dogs must be picked up after and kept on a leash if other campers are present. Please note: This is camping - there may be bugs, critters, dirt, unpredictable weather (pack for the cold, just in case - we get surprise fog often!), early sunrise, no cell data, etc etc. It's not the Hilton - but it is gorgeous. ;) Shopping such as Safeway, Costco and the big box stores are 20 minutes away in Soquel; however, we have a charming little market (Summit Center) 3.5 miles away that has a great selection of groceries, drinks and hot foods, etc. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we'll help however we can!

Lakeshore Villa RV Park

Located in Lakehead, California, Lakeshore Villa RV Park spans over 6.7 acres and features two outdoor restrooms with free hot showers, picnic tables and trails. We cater to large and small RVs and trailers ranging from 16 feet long to over 40 feet long plus sufficient space for a towing vehicle. Most of our spaces are approximately 16-24 wide and some are even wider, accommodating everyone's needs. Our sites feature 30 amp and 50 amp hookup service with full hookup to water with each space providing a sewer drain. As a convenience to our guests, propane is sold on site. The park backs up to a creek where swimming and fishing are popular. Fishing requires a state license which can be purchased online. Outdoor BBQ is allowed but, currently, no charcoal or wood burning is permitted due to the recent fires. Propane tank or electric BBQs are acceptable. Please note that trains do run near our park and throughout the City of Lakehead. Also, the lake water level is dependent upon the season and the amount of rainfall With such in mind, whether your prefer a short and or a long term stay, we hope to see you soon!

Morning Star Ranch

Learn more about this land: $27.50 per person per night, which works out to $55 for a couple (two people who are together). Kids 11 and under stay free. Morning Star Ranch is a working Thoroughbred horse farm nestled in the shadow of the majestic 7,000 foot Snow Mountain, located within the Mendocino National Forest boundary. Catch a small glimpse into ranch life. Reconnect with nature while relaxing by ponds and appreciating the rugged beauty which surrounds you. In clear weather, the star gazing is amazing! Take a guided tour of the horse barn and small petting zoo (goat and chickens) for the kids, if interested ask to make arrangements. . Your well behaved dogs are welcome here, although they must stay on a leash at all times. Camp fire wood is available for sale at the ranch when fires are allowed. A friendly note to light sleepers, since this is a working horse farm, there may be horses whinnying to each other occasionally during the night, and often the bullfrogs around the pond can't resist singing a few songs after dark. We also need to make mention that, like most of California, this is rattlesnake country so paying attention to where you put your hands and feet are important. Looking forward to meeting you soon! Area attractions: The Stonyford OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) for motorcycles, buggies, etc. is just under 2 miles west of the ranch on Forest Road M10. Take a hike or practice your rock hounding in the Mendocino National Forest, which yields some beautiful jasper rocks. Consult the Mendocino National Forest website for trails and details. Close proximity (about 4 miles) to the historic Eastpark Reservoir (closed in Winter) for all your water sports, fishing and swimming.
