You've been given the key. Come experience 60-acres of private mountain land off the Blue Ridge Parkway with big mountain views, lush Appalachian forest, & our very own waterfall! Inspired by the tale of a young gnome who discovers the power of gratitude in the forest. We bring Hoot Owl Ridge to you with in the same spirit. We are within 15 min of three magnificent waterfalls (Crabtree, Grassy Creek, & Tom's Creek), and only 25 mins from Linville Gorge! Though we are very secluded in the mountains, Walmart is only 5 mins down the road. Spruce Pine is 10-15 mins and has food, grocery, gas, hospital, and a brewery. Marion is a bigger town with mostly anything you could be looking for and is about 20mins away down the mountain. If you want some city buzz, head to vibrant Asheville under an hour away, where you'll find endless art, restaurants, breweries, live music, and more. Live closer to the earth, the mountains, the curious creatures, and return home with some gratitude!

The Gnome's Yome and Waterfall Walk
Amazing stay!
Hubby and I brought the dog for a weekend getaway. We had an amazing time and even looked at booking our next stay while we were there. The views are amazing, the dome is comfy and clean. We enjoyed visiting the local waterfalls and the small waterfall on site. The outhouse is a really close walk, which was very convenient. Even though there were two other sites around us, they were far enough so we didn’t hear anything and still enjoyed all the lovely sounds of nature. The deck around the hut was the best part since we were able to have meals out there while watching the sunrise / sunset. The hosts thought of everything small you might need and included their story and a gratitude journal. We will definitely be back!

The Gnome's Yome and Waterfall Walk
Over all a unique experience. A train going down the mountain sounded really close. Cars and semi trucks were fun to watch switch backing down the mountain after dark.

The Gnome's Yome and Waterfall Walk
Loved the Gnome Yome
Loved our Gnome Yome stay! The decoration was sophisticated yet neutral with a few personal touches, like the story of why the hosts started this business (with a hot dog metaphor), and a guest book that asks you to focus on gratitude. (I would've loved to have the Gnome gratitude story since it was such an inspiration.) Everything you needed was supplied for an easy off grid camping experience. View is amazing and sitting/cooking/dining on the porch was lovely. I loved being able to have my furry best friend with me and wish we had more time to explore the property. The trail to the waterfall was beautiful and such a nice feature to have on the property- it felt very special. Other guests were on the property but everything felt private and I didn't hear them. The trucks and cars going down the highway were a bit distracting as I live out in the quiet country, but I imagine it wouldn't bother guests from bigger cities and it didn't ruin the other amazing features the Gnome Yome had to offer. I hope to see more trail development and maintenance in the future, as it seems a lovely space to preserve.

April’s Treetop Dome Blue Ridge Exp
First Trip Together with Hipcamp
We loved our trip here. It was our first trip together (me and my boyfriend). It was extremely cold which was no fault of the owner. Wish the bathroom was a little closer but other than that we had a blast and even enjoyed listening to the rain on the dome. It was absolutely gorgeous
