My two friends and I enjoyed two nights on this lovely property. We also brought my doggy. There was ample room to explore and feel a sense of space, even with other guests. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The view was gorgeous to watch sunset and sunrise. A quiet little getaway space. Thanks!

Great little get away. We came for a few days. Was great. Nice and quiet. Dogs had a great time. If you dont have a go at pottery while there, you're missing out.

We had the most incredible stay. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to rolling hills and golden light was something special. The hosts were incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
We brought our dog along and it was perfect for him. There was plenty of space to explore and a very pet-friendly atmosphere. Their dog Archie was super friendly and got along so well with ours, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
We also took part in the pottery lessons during our stay, which were a real highlight. They were fun, relaxing, and a great way to connect with the property.
We were able to find level ground near the campfire, which made for some lovely evenings under the stars. There are toilets on site which were comparable to most campsites, and while the shower is cold, we had our own in the van so it wasn’t an issue.
The site is well set up for campervans, caravans and tents. We stayed in our campervan and honestly couldn’t fault a thing. Everything was exactly as per the listing.
Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back again. This place is something special!

Relaxing Stay with a creative touch

Coal Creek Pottery camping and RV
We spent 2 nights with our 13ft van, our two Frenchies, and friends in their 21ft van. A standout was the pottery class with Deb—a fun, hands-on experience that added something unique to our stay. We also chose breakfast and to our surprise it was cooked for us which was a really nice touch.
The hosts were great at communicating and quick to respond, which made everything easy from the get-go. The property is in a handy location, close to Esk and both Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams.
We were offered the front paddock to fit both vans, which had stunning views but it’s quite sloped. It’s worth noting that although the listing advertises the sites as flat, most areas are not level, except for one small flat spot beside the pottery shed – ideal for solo travellers or smaller rigs. We had the gear to level, but others might find it tricky. The other sites are close together, so spacing could be an issue for some.
Despite being near a road, we barely noticed traffic—peaceful by day and silent at night. We saw plenty of wildlife, and the property is dog- Alfie is friendly with off-lead allowed for well-behaved pups, which ours loved.
Overall, a welcoming and creative escape with great views, thoughtful extras, and friendly hosts. Would recommend especially if you’re after something a bit different and don’t mind a little slope.

This was a great spot to set up for a few days and relax. The top campsite is closest to the chemical toilet and water if you need it. The bottom three sites are a small
Walk down the hill and more private if that’s what you want.
We stayed up the top as it was the flattest of the sites for our tent. We loved watching the stars when the rain finally stopped! The top site you can see and hear the road but it totally stops at around 6pm and even before that it is pretty quiet.
Deb and Dave are great. Nice and friendly. The grass was well mown.
We didn’t see any deer, but will be back again to try our luck!

Beautiful spot with amazing views and some wildlife. Easy commute from Brisbane and a great pub lunch in Esk.
Hosts were great to chat to and very good boy (dog) to throw the ball with.

A very welcoming place. Beautiful views to the West for afternoon sunsets. Funky cool fire pits, and beautiful stars at night. Such a handy spot for visiting the Somerset area.

Great little hidden gem tucked away near Esk with some great scenery and an enjoyable pottery studio. Deb and Tim are wonderful hosts with plenty of stories and experience in teaching pottery. The coffee and Alfy the collie cross was a bonus too.

Loved this place! It was a genuinely lovely place to stay. Hosts were really friendly and warm, views were great, Alfie the dog was a real treat. I love that there are only 4 sites. Any more and it wouldn’t feel as spacious. We shall be back!

We had a fantastic four nights at Coal Creek Pottery. Tim & Deborah were amazing hosts and really made us and our Labrador, Horace, feel welcome,
We camped in our Jpod on the hill and the views were stunning. We loved watching wild deer and the glorious sunsets.
We did the pottery lesson and had so much fun and enjoyed a wickedly good cooked breakfast and coffee.
We were fully self contained so didn’t need to use amenities.
Can’t review without a mention of resident doggo, Alfie! He’s just living his best doggo life and was so much fun!
The only disappointment was having to leave. We will be back for sure!

Great spot! Fantastic that Deborah and Tim limit campers to four. I couldn’t even see the other campers from my site! Had a 7.1 metre VW campervan and was unsure of the uneven access but had no problems getting in and out.
Pottery lesson with Deborah was a wonderful experience. I’ll be back again!

We had an amazing stay at Coal Creek Pottery and Camping! The campsite is beautifully maintained, offering just four well-spaced sites that provide a sense of privacy while still feeling connected to nature. The views are stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it the perfect place to unwind.
The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. A special mention goes to Alfie, the resident pup, who added so much charm to the experience!
One of the highlights of our visit was the on-site pottery class. It was such a unique and enjoyable activity—whether you're a beginner or have some experience, it's a fantastic way to get creative while immersing yourself in the tranquil surroundings.
And we can’t forget the delicious breakfast prepared by the hosts—an absolute standout! Fresh, homemade, and the perfect way to start the day.

We really enjoyed that there are only 4 sites on the property. The owners are really down to earth and their doggo is delightful. We camped on the top site, on the hill, closest to the pottery shed. Plenty of space for the caravan and they provided a fire ring.
The toilet is a camp toilet in a hut and the shower is rainwater (cold). Perfectly fine for seasoned campers or you could bring your own set up to be self sufficient. If you're camping down the hill, you'll have to walk up for the loo.
Absolutely loved spending time on the wheel with my Pottery class and we enjoyed chatting with the owners and sharing a drink.

Absolutely loved the serenity here, we wish we could have stayed longer! It’s like dropping into see your grandparents, Deborah and David are so lovely and friendly.
We did the additional pottery lessons and it was worth every bit, Deborah is a fantastic teacher and you will produce something to be proud of!

Overall it is a beautiful location to stay and the hosts are friendly and offered some great options to do. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The hosts went above and beyond to return a lost pair of sunglasses to us and we are very grateful.

The view was stunning with all theses plains and hills with some cows and we even saw a deer ! David and Deborah are super kind and helpfull. They gave us some advices and even lent us some torchs for the night. That was absolutely perfect. Thank you !

The wife and I had the absolute pleasure to set up camp here for the night! You couldn’t get any more peaceful! Beautiful breakfast and the wife loved the pottery lesson. We definitely will NOT be strangers!

A perfect spot for a getaway from Brisbane. Tim and Deborah were the perfect hosts with stories to tell and Alfie .. what a great doggy life he has. The property affords views galore, peace and tranquility, Animal and bird life to spot, sunsets and stars to gaze at. A wonderful stay and we will be back again

Excellent spot for a relaxed break. Superb views at sunrise and sunset. Stars galore. Managed to get a couple of nights staying at the top of the hill with no other campers, very peaceful. Pottery class was fun and the hosts were good fun too. Breakfast was delicious, even for the vegetarian we forgot to give notice for. 10/10, we'll be back.

Great views, surrounded by nature, and you can hear a pin drop. The dogs also loved running around and playing witht he resident dog, Alfy. My wife is very proud of the pottery she did.

Lovely quiet camping spot only 4 sites well space, beautiful elevated outlook over the countryside. David and his wife were friendly hosts not intrusive, but there for a chat if you want. Close to town of Esk and the Dams for a day trip. Great for campers who are self sufficient with shower and camping toilet. Toilet on site is compost toilet some people may not feel comfortable using ..very rustic. There is pottery classes on site didn't have time to do this but looked like fun.
