We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW. Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away. Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We are a short drive to dine at Wiseman Ferry, and only 11 minutes from the local Woolworths. Or enjoy a beautiful walk at Fagan Park in Galston. Your camping/van area is supplied with red/bins. 2 Portaloos available at the front and back section. Dogs allowed but please let me know first. They will need to be on leash all the time and well behaved. Please pick up after them ANYWHERE they go toilet and also they must be vaccinated. No cats allowed. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. ALL Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. * There are 5 allocated camp sites. Two are easy(2WD & Vans/trailers) access and have the direct view through the valley. Three require high wheel clearance vehicles (just small hill to drive up with some rocks), these are more private sites(cannot see the other campers) still with lovely views. Welcome to Our Cane & Cattle Farm on the Clarence River Step onto our four‑generation working cane and cattle farm, where the smell of fresh‑cut cane, the hum of farm life, and the shimmer of the Clarence River set the tone for your stay. Your adventure begins at the entrance, marked by “Rusty,” our old sugarcane harvester — a true piece of local history and a favourite photo stop. The winding driveway leads you through the paddocks, past different cane varieties and grazing horses and cattle. The front horse paddock will soon become our upgraded camp kitchen and guest area, and we’re excited to keep improving the space while staying true to the farm’s heritage. Life on the Farm Days here follow the rhythm of the land and the river. Wander through the cane, taste sweet juice straight from the stalk, and see how sugarcane is grown and harvested. Enjoy bike riding, walking trails, quiet fishing spots, and kayaking or canoeing straight from the property. The Ashby Creek swimming hole offers a calm, sheltered place for a refreshing dip. Life on the River This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life. The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. What an incredible experience this was. A short one night only trip, but will absolutely be back. The cleanest drop toilets I have ever seen, free kayaks to explore the clean and clear river, and a farm tour to feed the animals. Our kids had such a fun time feeding all the animals including horse, donkey, goats, rabbits, sheep. The onsite caretakers were really nice and very helpful. Thank you for sharing your property with us, can't wait for our next trip.

This Hip camp was amazing ! my daughter had the best time with the bikes and kayaks and all the beautiful little turtles everywhere . the animal feeding was a hit for both my self and my little girl the baby rabbits baby lamb and the cheeky donkey . definitely do your self a favor and get some eggs . i would give it a 10/10 THANK YOU !!

We had such a lovely time at Bundilla river camp! Beautiful large shaded sites on soft ground, right next to the river. My son loved his farm tour given by the caretaker Wayne, and he and his wife were wonderful hosts while Cheryl and Rick were away. Yes there are compostin(drop) toilets, but they were cleaner than most public toilets! We will be back for sure, could have easily stayed a week.

This is our 3rd trip to Bundilla and we love it and will be back! Beautiful spot - perfect for kids and dogs. Great to have bikes and kayaks on hand. The farm tour is awesome for kids, they love getting hands on with all the friendly animals. Swimming in the river was so refreshing. Cheryl and Rick are always attentive and responsive, such great hosts.

We love the camp at Bonville. Very roomy and tidy. Great fire pits on a small gravel patch. Forest on one side and open fields on the other. Very good long drop toilets with lights, sawdust and a sink with soap dispenser and even a mirror. Industrial bin for your rubbish and even dogs are allowed. The only down side was you can hear the freeway, but that makes it very handy for a stopover on a long journey. Highly recommend.

Clear directions. Campsites were not cramped. Each site had firepits with firewood available to purchase. Clean toilets. Plenty of room for our caravan & to be able to stay hitched.. The hosts were very welcoming & on board with checking daily arrivals every evening. We will definitely let family & friends know how safe it is there, as we really enjoyed our stay.

Well what a fabulous camp! We booked quite literally at the last minute arriving just on sunset. Richard the caretaker was there to greet us and was so lovely and welcoming. Fire pits and toilets provided, very well kept grounds with clearly marked spacious sites. Right on the riverbank, top spot, so peaceful and beautiful. We intended to just have a quick overnighter but it was such a fabulous spot and Richard made us feel so welcome we stayed a bit longer to do some boating and the kids had a blast helping Richard with the cows. The only negative is the traffic noise from the close highway but honestly, that negative pales in comparison to our wonderful experience here. Our little doggy even loved it.
