Situated at 7,000 feet, campers are surrounded by the snow covered LaSal Mountains overlooking the deep Canyonlands NP of the Colorado River escarpment, and only 30 minutes from Moab, Utah. Summer temps are much cooler here than in the surrounding canyons and valleys of the Moab area, a very pleasant retreat from the heat! Virtually ALL outdoor sporting adventures are found around here in nearly limitless abundance, including winter sports, snowmobiling, off-roading, dirt-biking, 4-wheeling, and more. Campground has outdoor-potty, free firewood with pits.

Site 3 - High Sage Hogans

Wonderful!

Staying at Danny's hipcamp listing was a great way to escape from the crowds while enjoying stunning views of La Sal mountains. Danny was helpful, accommodating, and responsive. Moreover, he shared local recommendations that most tourist will are unaware of in Canyonlands NP and Moab.

Amazing, beautiful experience

Loved Danny's hospitality! Very accommodating. Loved meeting his dog, Ringo, his alpaca and sheep. Beautiful location with a fantastic view of the La Sal mountains. Stars were incredible at night, sunrises were glorious!

Unusual camping experience.

Very interesting and unusual spot to camp. Beautiful views and the fire pit was fun. Tight spots for bigger rigs.

Camping in the teepee

Beautiful views all around, the sunsets are gorgeous! A little muddy in the winter (when i stayed but nothing a good boot can’t help!). I stayed in the teepee, well kept and cute inside.
