We had such a lovely stay at this camp! We are from Australia and this was our first stop on our USA road trip and what an awesome spot to start!

I had high hopes for this place! Although there's no glass allowed on the beach there's thousands of small broken pieces of glass scattered in the sand. There's also hundreds of cow poop patties everywhere. This is in no way anyones fault, but even with a breeze you'll be eating sand. The bungalow has siding falling off the outside. The portapottys were a long walk from my bungalow and up a hill, not an issue until it's middle of the night. I never saw showers? Loud banging in the middle of the night-no idea what was causing it. Solar power was available but each outlet was mis-aligned so I couldn't physically plug anything in. Luckily I brought my headlamp. The interior of the cabin was much chillier than outside-theyve provided a big propane tank and heater in the middle of the bungalow to use but I wasn't interested in teaching myself how to operate that so I just used extra blankets. Of note, they do have a carbon monoxide monitor available. The sliding glass door and sliding screen door do not work well (lots of jiggling to get it to open/close). I paid almost $200 for this hipcamp. The next night I stayed in a comparatively luxurious accommodation for less and in a much more desirable location. Overall it's a clever idea but the juice isn't worth the squeeze. The bed was comfortable and clean!!

We loved camping at Sandy Beach. We camped Sunday-Monday and we had the site to ourselves. Cows were by the beach and amazing views. We rented a kayak and Parker had it ready for us. We definitely recommend this camp site and will be back again.

We loved our time at Parker's beach site! We camped at Beach Site 1 and had a great time. Would recommend bringing bug spray, as we started to fight some mosquitoes after the sun went down, but beyond that, the night was great. Parker was a great host and was very responsive - We bought firewood from him and had a nice big fire in one of the big firepit bowls. The bathroom house was awesome, just a bit of a walk from the beach. Our sleep was excellent, and we had a great drive into SLC the next day. Would absolutely recommend camping here!

I had a really great time at Sandy beaches I was prepared for camping, pod nine was beautiful. I was ready to care for my trash, I knew I needed to keep my food cold. They figured out how to cool it down, slept well. I was glad to have a beautiful fire on the beach. Super cool. There were a lot of flies. I wasn’t ready for that. I look forward to going again.

I stayed here in the middle of the week and had the whole beach to myself!! I can see why some guests mention the wind, but regardless, the views are beautiful and I loved my time here. The host was also super communicative and let me stay on a different night than I originally booked.

Directions were good site is very unique beautiful surroundings wide open space.
It gets pretty windy and at at dusk, we were dealing with a bunch of bugs. They didn’t sting, but there were lots of them.
There’s a bathroom and a shower. It’s fairly basic no hot water but of course you are very remote there.
Host was very responsive and informative.
Would definitely stay there again as it is so very unique to wake up and be on a beach!

The property was more run down on the outside then the photos but we all know we post pictures at our best, lots of over grown prickly bushes which is a Yuba thing but the listing just doesn't reflect that so fyi. It was hot as Hades in that box when I arrived and there is a portable swamp cooler but it mostly just made it humid and smell funny so I turned it back off and just opened windows and the sliding door. I was happy to have a bed and not tent it, that was my goal and this fit that perfectly, but it's still "camping" so be realistic in expectations. Bathroom was a smidge further than I imagined, it's a walk back down the road and up a hill. There were outlets by the bed and bar top but I couldn't get anything to plug in, just would not insert, luckily the ones by the bed had a USB port and the charger I had worked for that. The view in the morning was amazing overlooking the lake and since I was there in August it cools down a lot at night with windows open. Overall it was pleasant. The listing also said wifi available but when I searched for a network none were found, not even password protected ones. Closest gas station is back towards nephi just FYI so no quick stop for snacks, do it on the way or plan for the outting.

Sandy Beach had incredible views, and the water was gorgeous! Easy to find, and very communicative hosts. They were accommodating and easy to talk to. The space is private and clean. I have suggested this to friends. I’m excited to come back!

The information provided in the listing was vague and when I asked questions to the host, the answers were incomplete and some questions were not answered. The pictures showed a clean well equipped tiny house, when in fact it was just a row behind trailer with siding to make it look like a home. The price was extremely high for not having hot water (only a cold shower)…why even have a shower. No one enjoys cold showers. Put a propane tank on the premises and provide hot showers. The cleanliness was subpar, with maxi pad wrappers under the sink and in the drawers in the bathroom, and a lot of debris and dead bugs in the creases of the couch. There was a hodgepodge of cooking supplies that looked old and dirty, thrown into random cupboards. The water pump had a pressure issue and was clunk on every 15 seconds briefly to keep up the pressure making it difficult to sleep so we ended up having to go on a hunt in the dark in the middle of the night to find the pump which was outside and unplugged it. We’ve been RV owners for 15 years, and have rented rvs in the past as well so we have expectations of what this experience should be like, and this was far from the amenities and cleanliness that should be provided. The price was not appropriate for the time of year (since the water levels were extremely low and there was an algae advisory) and lack of amenities and cleanliness).

We tent camping for 2 nights. Great place. Very big and spacious. Water fun and 4 wheelers camp type area. Sand everywhere. Stars at night are amazing. No shade, suggest bringing your own shade. (Canopy or open tent you can tie down) Careful of windy days. First day and night was very windy. My kids didn't care, they love being outside. Best thing to bring to counter the wind is a mosquito net head cover. Worked wonderfully to protext the eyes during the day and night. Paddle board rental available. Wood is available for a great deal for the size of wood you can choose.

They didn’t inform us of a dangerous algae bloom until after we checked in. That means dogs and kids shouldn’t swim in the lake and that was the whole point of us booking this place.

Better guest monitoring would be lovely.
While I had an amazing time, not everyone in our group felt the same. Our neighboring guests demonstrated poor behavior and a blatant disregard for the expressed rules with zero intervention. Guests had music blasting at high volumes, singing and screaming loudly until at least 2am. They also had a raging fire during a strict no fire period. When we plan to go somewhere private that gives us specific guidelines, it can frustrating when it’s a free for all.
I would recommend this place though. Beautiful, large site. Never know who your neighbors will be

I had the most relaxing stay at Sandy Beach. This was such a hidden gem!! I was traveling on my own as a 28 year old girl and felt very safe. I met so many kind people, and Parker was an amazing host. I ended up extending my stay and hope to be back as soon as possible!

It is a great set up. You can have a campfire, it’s beautiful, soft sand, lake isn’t too cold, etc.
I would check the weather to make sure it’s not windy though or the fine sand will pelt you the whole time. It’s also a long walk to the bathroom.
Lake has a clay bottom it feels and you have to walk out awhile for it to get deep.

Great little spot. A little cramped and busy because people just pack in but I felt like we will had sufficient beach space. The sand is nice, area is clean and bathrooms are the cleanest you will ever find in a camp ground.

There are a few improvements that could be made to the sites but honestly, we had an amazing time! Booked this for a family getaway and we hosted Basecamp at our wall tent because it has the most private setting for a group nestled in the dunes.
We had them move the 4 cots out and brought our own queen size cot. It's freaking huge! The floor is severely buckled and in pretty bad repair though, which provided its own challenge. The latch on the door wouldn't work from the inside, so if you're outside you can close it, but not if you are inside trying to sleep. We created a shim and made it work. Great fire ring w chairs!
One group tent camped down by the beach, which is awesome right on the water but the first night was insanely windy and their tent blew over a few times. I'd say these sites are better for RVs and make sure your vehicle has all-wheel or 4-wheel , we got stuck in the sand and had to get pulled out.
Two groups were in the airstreams, which were super cute but basically do not have AC and it got scary hot during the day. Literally you could die if you hung out in there midday it's so hot. I think these would be better to book in cooler weather.
The bathrooms were mixed, there are some camp toilets nearer the the sites that got pretty gross bc some people didn't know how to use them or they got full. But up the hill are flush toilets and camp showers, which was honestly amazing for a long weekend on the lake. Kayak rental and swimming were amazing!

Great place! I stayed in pod 9 which felt more secluded than some of the other pods. The beach was clean and quiet. Only thing to be aware of is that it does get quite stuffy/hot in the pods. It was bearable with the fan on but at times it felt cooler outside than inside. This is to be expected though as it’s Utah in the Summer!
