Kolob Campground is located adjacent to the Kolob Reservoir boat ramp and dock, including four acres of private shoreline. Just a few feet from the paved road, nestled in tall aspen, oak,
and pine trees.
Access to potable water is available adjacent to camp, and public restrooms (vault toilets) are only a short walk from camp.
WiFi access is available nearby at Kolob Adventure Rentals/Adventure Beach (3 minute walk). WiFi location and password provided by host upon request. This is an exclusive benefit available to our guests, and the only WiFi available to campers in the area.

We are locally owned by a family of 8 and love calling Moab our home. We understand the corporate overtaking that Moab has had in the last 5 years and plan to keep our campground affordably priced and locally owned. We have upgraded the old site plan from 7 RV sites to 55 Full Service RV sites this year. Most sites are pull through but we will have some back-ins. Our new bathhouse has a laundry, women's bathrooms and showers, men's bathrooms and showers, and an ADA compliant family style bathroom.
In addition to the new bathhouse, we have a new office and retail store where we sell souvenirs, RV supplies, snacks, drinks, ice, firewood, and other necessities for guests. We do not currently have propane fill on site.
We know that there are many options to choose from when it comes to staying in Moab. We urge people to support locally owned businesses that help Moab grow and solve problems that exist in our community. Moab is a recreation mecca with something for everyone and our little campground on the south end of the valley puts you within minutes of town, the mountains, and the red deserts around Moab.

Welcome to Capitol Reef Country! Road to the Sun Ranch is located in beautiful Grover, Utah (elev 7,200') along Scenic Highway 12, one of the most scenic drives in the United States. We are a pet friendly RV only campsite. The property is a short 6 mile drive from the quaint town of Torrey, host of the annual Fort Desolation Festival and 15 miles by car from Capitol Reef National Park. Our location provides RV travelers with an ideal base camp for exploring the natural wonders of this region of Southern Utah and the majestic Boulder Mountain. The property consists of mostly pasture land, desert sage, pinyon pine trees and panoramic mountain views. The ranch is surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery anywhere and endless outdoor opportunities! We have a single (self check-in) RV/trailer/van parking area complete with water, power, sewer, WiFi and picnic table. All guests MUST have their own bathroom, clean up after pets and pack out any trash. We are unable to accommodate tent or car camping anywhere on the property unless you are with a group that has a trailer or RV equipped with a bathroom available for use during your stay and no open wood burning fires are permitted at this time. Max trailer length is 28'. Max RV length is 35'. Class A motor homes are not recommended. Livestock enjoy the adjacent pastures during Summer and Fall months typically (June-September). There are 26 campgrounds, and you can usually find something even on the busiest of weekends (but, if you can swing it, it’s always best to arrive early). We are a great spot to stay and have onsite a zip line into Lake Elevate, water slide into the pond, adventure island, zipline, kayaking, paddle boarding,
catch and release fishing, and close to all fun in the San Rafael Swell.
20 min or so from three reservoirs for additional fishing,
swimming and motor boating, 30 minutes from the Little Grand Canyon for breathtaking views, hiking and mountain biking, petroglyphs and the San Rafael Swell river to float on, 60 minutes from Goblin Valley, within 60 minutes to multiple slot canyons: Little Wild Horse Canyon, Muddy Creek, The Chute (similar to Zion National Park), Baptist Draw, to name a few.
Mountain fun for rock climbing just up the road in Joe's Valley, hiking, biking, fishing, etc. We would love to have you stay on our little farm while you enjoy the fun of the San Rafael Swell adventures.

One hour to skiing at Snow Basin (home of 2002 Olympic downhill), Powder Mountain to the south and Beaver Mountain to the north. World's largest game bird refuge and museum 10 minutes west down the canyon. Utah State University 30 minutes to the north and Weber State University 30 minutes to the south. Box Elder Creek is a 5 minute walk into Box Elder Campground, the poppy hill (2 weeks in June), and wonderful hiking opportunities. Lake can be accessed with state park fee at the marina entrance and the north shore -OR- on the south side via five minute ride or 1.25 mi walk. Note: this is a shared private beach for the properties on this side of the lake. It is included with your booking and limited to that time. It has many amenities including: large gazebos on artificial turf, fire pits, playground, flush toilets, water, and docks. (See Add-Ons if you need a boat slip for the day or overnight).

* Wildlife - In late summer, cattle graze nearby. In spring, you may see sheep and baby lambs on the way to the south beach access.
There are rattle snakes, bunnies, and we’ve seen a scorpion or two.
*Weather - Summer days can be quite hot with cooler nights. There is no shade on the property. Wind gusts carrying dust can occur. It’s a good idea to check weather app for conditions.
*Landscape/Views - Utah natural landscape changes markedly with the seasons. Some photos may reflect green grasses, when these dry out mid summer, they can produce fine stickers to be aware of with long hair pets, kids, and ankles in general.
Views can change depending on developing neighboring properties.
Sunsets either at the lake or the property are unobstructed and often dramatic. Night sky viewing is also pretty awesome as there is very little light pollution.

Our location provides RV travelers with an ideal base camp for exploring the natural wonders of this region of Southern Utah and the majestic Boulder Mountain. The property consists of mostly pasture land, desert sage, pinyon pine trees and panoramic mountain views. The ranch is surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery anywhere and endless outdoor opportunities! We have a single (self check-in) RV/trailer/van parking area complete with water, power, sewer, WiFi and picnic table. All guests MUST have their own bathroom, clean up after pets and pack out any trash. We are unable to accommodate tent or car camping anywhere on the property unless you are with a group that has a trailer or RV equipped with a bathroom available for use during your stay and no open wood burning fires are permitted at this time. Max trailer length is 28'. Max RV length is 35'. Class A motor homes are not recommended. Livestock enjoy the adjacent pastures during Summer and Fall months typically (June-September). The RV site is available seasonally from April - October.

The Moab Field Office, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), takes up 1.8 million acres of gorgeous canyon-riddled lands. Spend your days hunting for natural arches and bridges, exploring mesas, and contemplating how the heck rocks can look so crazy. BLM lands are also fantastic base camps for forays into nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. There are 26 campgrounds, and you can usually find something even on the busiest of weekends (but, if you can swing it, it’s always best to arrive early). River recreation on the Colorado and Green Rivers is another major draw. However you spend your time in Moab, you’ll fall in love with the impressive red rock formations, the deep canyons, and surprising amount of plant life.

swimming and motor boating, 30 minutes from the Little Grand Canyon for breathtaking views, hiking and mountain biking, petroglyphs and the San Rafael Swell river to float on, 60 minutes from Goblin Valley, within 60 minutes to multiple slot canyons: Little Wild Horse Canyon, Muddy Creek, The Chute (similar to Zion National Park), Baptist Draw, to name a few.

World's largest game bird refuge and museum 10 minutes west down the canyon. Utah State University 30 minutes to the north and Weber State University 30 minutes to the south. Box Elder Creek is a 5 minute walk into Box Elder Campground, the poppy hill (2 weeks in June), and wonderful hiking opportunities. * Wildlife - In late summer, cattle graze nearby. In spring, you may see sheep and baby lambs on the way to the south beach access.
There are rattle snakes, bunnies, and we’ve seen a scorpion or two.
*Weather - Summer days can be quite hot with cooler nights. There is no shade on the property. Wind gusts carrying dust can occur. It’s a good idea to check weather app for conditions.
*Landscape/Views - Utah natural landscape changes markedly with the seasons. Some photos may reflect green grasses, when these dry out mid summer, they can produce fine stickers to be aware of with long hair pets, kids, and ankles in general.
Views can change depending on developing neighboring properties.
Sunsets either at the lake or the property are unobstructed and often dramatic. Night sky viewing is also pretty awesome as there is very little light pollution.

Kolob is always beautiful! It was also my friends’ first time visiting, and they absolutely loved it. A few things though ; we weren’t informed ahead of time that the General Store was closed, so we had to drive back to town (about 45 minutes each way) to grab some last-minute essentials. Unfortunately, we had to go home a day early because there was construction right in front of our campsite, which really ruined the whole camping experience.
On the bright side, I have AT&T and surprisingly had signal, so I was able to call and update my family.
