Red Desert RV Park has expanded to 55 full hookup RV sites along with 14 cabins. We are geared towards outdoor adventurists and sightseers wanting a cost-effective stay while taking advantage of everything Moab has to offer! We are locally owned by a family of 8 and love calling Moab our home. We understand the corporate overtaking that Moab has had in the last 5 years and plan to keep our campground affordably priced and locally owned. We have upgraded the old site plan from 7 RV sites to 55 Full Service RV sites this year. Most sites are pull through but we will have some back-ins. Our new bathhouse has a laundry, women's bathrooms and showers, men's bathrooms and showers, and an ADA compliant family style bathroom. In addition to the new bathhouse, we have a new office and retail store where we sell souvenirs, RV supplies, snacks, drinks, ice, firewood, and other necessities for guests. We do not currently have propane fill on site. We know that there are many options to choose from when it comes to staying in Moab. We urge people to support locally owned businesses that help Moab grow and solve problems that exist in our community. Moab is a recreation mecca with something for everyone and our little campground on the south end of the valley puts you within minutes of town, the mountains, and the red deserts around Moab.

There’s a pretty solid chance that you’ve heard about Moab, one of Utah’s most happening recreation spots. This gorgeous place gets packed, so do your homework beforehand so you know where to go! The Moab Field Office, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), takes up 1.8 million acres of gorgeous canyon-riddled lands. Spend your days hunting for natural arches and bridges, exploring mesas, and contemplating how the heck rocks can look so crazy. BLM lands are also fantastic base camps for forays into nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. There are 26 campgrounds, and you can usually find something even on the busiest of weekends (but, if you can swing it, it’s always best to arrive early). River recreation on the Colorado and Green Rivers is another major draw. However you spend your time in Moab, you’ll fall in love with the impressive red rock formations, the deep canyons, and surprising amount of plant life.

Park your van, trailer or RV a skip away from Yuba Lake on private 3 acre land. Unimproved parking space surrounded by beautiful views. Plenty of space to set up tents, pets welcome. Just minutes away from the marina and Yuba Lake State Park amenities including zip line, potable water and dump with state park entrance fee. Enjoy the lake during the day and the stars at night. Property has two sites. Both have optional electrical hookup, boat slip , and firewood. Site 1 - “El Conejo Camp Spot” away from the main road featuring 4x20 step off deck, picnic table, and camp chairs, as well (2) 30amp RV hookups. This is a pull thru or pull around site. Site 2 - “Roadside Summit” with picnic table, fire ring, and 50amp electrical hookup. This is a pull through site with grade. Lake can be accessed with state park fee at the marina entrance and the north shore -OR- on the south side via five minute ride or 1.25 mi walk. Note: this is a shared private beach for the properties on this side of the lake. It is included with your booking and limited to that time. It has many amenities including: large gazebos on artificial turf, fire pits, playground, flush toilets, water, and docks. (See Add-Ons if you need a boat slip for the day or overnight). Road in is dirt with minor grade up to property. Notes: ——— * Wildlife - In late summer, cattle graze nearby. In spring, you may see sheep and baby lambs on the way to the south beach access. There are rattle snakes, bunnies, and we’ve seen a scorpion or two. *Weather - Summer days can be quite hot with cooler nights. There is no shade on the property. Wind gusts carrying dust can occur. It’s a good idea to check weather app for conditions. *Landscape/Views - Utah natural landscape changes markedly with the seasons. Some photos may reflect green grasses, when these dry out mid summer, they can produce fine stickers to be aware of with long hair pets, kids, and ankles in general. Views can change depending on developing neighboring properties. Sunsets either at the lake or the property are unobstructed and often dramatic. Night sky viewing is also pretty awesome as there is very little light pollution.

After parking your trailer or pitching your tent, walk down to the lake with your fishing poles and kayaks or take a bike ride down Kolob Terrace road. It is the perfect home base for the all the adventures to be had at Kolob and the surrounding areas around Zion National Park. Camp Joy is the highest point around Kolob Reservoir so you will be afforded the best sunset views in all four directions. You will never experience another “golden hour” like the one you experience while at Camp Joy. Our mission is to share the “Joy” of making unforgettable memories in the mountains with friends and family. Happy Travels! Camp Joy at Kolob FAMOUS HIKES AND TRAILHEADS LOCATED BY CAMP JOY: The "Kolob Terrace" is a lesser-traveled section of Zion, accessible via the Kolob Terrace Road that heads north from the town of Virgin. The drive through the Terrace up to Lava Point offers a good sampling of wondrous views, from golden valleys to the majestic North and South Guardian Angels high in distance. The Kolob Terrace is home to one of the most popular canyons in Zion: the Left Fork of North Creek, aka. "the Subway." WEST RIM TRAIL NORTHGATE PEAKS TRAIL THE SUBWAY WILDCAT CANYON TRAILHEAD HOP VALLEY TRAILHEAD THE CONNECTOR TRAIL HOODOO CITY GRAPEVINE TRAIL LANGSTON CANYON AND LANGSTON MOUNTAIN Brief history of Camp Joy: Camp Joy is a small parcel of land given to my grandmother and her sisters by my paternal great grandfather. It was part of a larger, 2,500 acre parcel that has been used for grazing sheep the last 100 or so years. As was common in those days, the male heir inherited the larger portion to continue the family business of sheep, and the three females inherited 1 acre each. My paternal grandmother fondly recalls spending her summers exploring the flora and fauna and staying overnight in a small cabin that they called “Camp Joy.” My father, also used to visit this area during his youth and has many fond memories of when the family would “Hie to Kolob.” My grandmother, being too old to enjoy the place herself, wanted to sell her portion to someone who would be able to enjoy it in this life. She didn’t believe in restricting access to the wonderful and uniquely awe inducing land surrounding Zion National park. She knew humans are just mere stewards , temporarily living off the land that Mother Nature has so generously provided for. My father and mother also shared this vision so (with his sisters/cousins permission) he purchased her share and the two adjoining lots that were owned by his aunts and combined them so we could have a place to park our trailers in the summertime. The advent of the internet and the resurgence of people wanting to go somewhere with their families to experience the peace and tranquility one can only find in the wilds, led us to feel that sharing this slice of heaven was not only economical but the right thing to do. So much of Kolob and the surrounding areas are marked off by private property, owners who aren’t even there to enjoy it 99% of the time. So we felt divinely called to offer our humble slice of heaven to likeminded individuals, seeking tranquility and peace but for some cosmic reason didn’t stand to inherit private property in the middle of one of the most beautiful places on earth. So welcome friend. We only ask, as you leave this place, to please bring with you this spirit of abundance and joy to wherever you call home.

Torrey, UT · 1 site
Learn more about this land: Welcome to Road to the Sun Ranch, our quiet RV retreat in Grover, Utah, near Capitol Reef National Park. We created this site for travelers who want a peaceful place to land at the end of the day — somewhere with wide-open views, quiet evenings, and the feeling of being away from it all, without giving up the ease of full hookups. The ranch sits along Scenic Highway 12 near the base of Boulder Mountain, about 6 miles from Torrey and approximately 15 miles from Capitol Reef National Park. The property is a mix of open pasture, desert sage, pinyon pine, mountain views, and big Southern Utah sky. It is a beautiful place to slow down, watch the light move across the landscape, and enjoy the quiet side of Capitol Reef Country. We offer just one private RV/trailer/van site, so you will not be tucked into a crowded campground or sharing the space with a row of other campers. The site includes water, power, sewer, WiFi, and a picnic table, making it a comfortable basecamp for exploring Capitol Reef, Boulder Mountain, Torrey, Scenic Highway 12, Fishlake National Forest, the Burr Trail, and the surrounding red-rock country. This site is best for self-contained RVs, trailers, and camper vans. Guests need to have their own bathroom available, so we are not able to accommodate tent-only camping or car camping. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and the private setting is one of the things dog owners tend to love most. We just ask that you clean up after pets, pack out your trash, and help us keep the ranch peaceful and clean for the next guests. For safety, open wood-burning fires are not permitted. Maximum trailer length is 28 feet, and maximum RV length is 35 feet. Class A motorhomes are not recommended. Livestock may be present in adjacent pastures during the summer and fall months, typically June through September. The site is open seasonally from April through October. We hope Road to the Sun Ranch gives you a quiet, comfortable place to rest, explore, and enjoy this beautiful part of Southern Utah.
