This is the sweetest little spot with the sweetest host! Super close to lots of restaurants and little shops, and Gypsy was so kind to offer her own bathroom/shower and backyard area to hang out in the shade. Even the outhouse composting toilet was great and well kept up! Would highly recommend staying here if your in the area. 11/10 stars

Loved staying at Lynnellen’s Hipcamp so much that we extended our stay by two more nights mid-trip. She personally greets you, walks you through everything, and has created an incredibly thoughtful setup for travelers. In the evenings, she puts out sandwich fixings and keeps a fridge stocked with water bottles you can grab for your tent. Inside, there’s iced tea, ice, hot cocoa, and other small touches that make a big difference. Each camping space feels private while still being comfortable and well-equipped with real beds, clean sheets, power, and lighting. She even set out a telescope so guests can take in the night sky. Mornings shift into a bed-and-breakfast experience. Everyone gathers at a long table, talking and connecting, while Lynnellen cooks whatever you’re craving. There are around 20 hot cocoa flavors to choose from, which my daughter loved. She is an excellent cook and genuinely kind. There’s also a huge garden where you can pick fresh vegetables for a snack. What started as a simple place to sleep turned into one of the most memorable parts of our trip. It felt less like a campsite and more like a community. One camper even asked to take a photo with her, which says a lot. She also gave me great advice, and my daughter absolutely adored her.

I car camped on Gypsy’s property for two nights. Had a great time! She was a very friendly and accommodating host who provided an outhouse in the backyard and a bathroom inside for showering. Love camping on this property the tent was lovely and set up for everything and more. The host stayed up very late to let us come stay with a last minute notice from our road trip. We stayed on the way to our destination and on the way back. We had to leave early each time so we didn’t have time to stay for the homemade breakfast but there was food set out the first stay in the morning, for early risers which we appreciated. Loved seeing the animals around and walking around the property. Thank you!

Gypsy and Brian were so welcoming and fun. We happened to be staying in our camper van on their property when they had some personal friends over and they welcomed us in with open arms and shared s’mores around the campfire. Their newly opened composting outhouse was really convenient and clean too. We also had access to an indoor bathroom with a shower but we were only there for one night and didn’t need to use it. We would definitely stay here again! We had a great time.

About

If you’ve spent any amount of time in the West, you probably know that finding a good lake isn’t quite as easy as it is in other parts of the country. Utah Lake State Park is here to soothe your woes, though, because its boundaries are home to one of the largest freshwater lakes in the region (and the area only receives an average of 15 inches of rainfall per year—isn’t nature amazing?!). Early settlers were amazed by this place, too. In fall of 1776, one member of the Dominguez-Escalante party arrived here and exclaimed, "This place is the most pleasant, beautiful, and fertile in all New Spain." Preach on, Bernardo Y. Pacheco! So, come on out and see what all the fuss is about. Bring some friends, too, because you’ll want to share this special place with your outdoor-loving crew. Spend your days playing on the water, and your nights relaxing at one of the many camping areas. Life doesn’t get much better.
