Welcome to Hansen Hallow Basecamp, our family farm in Fountain Green, Utah. We’re just 10 miles (15 minutes) from Maple Canyon, a world-class climbing destination, making this a peaceful alternative to the crowded campground. Our property offers wide-open views of the Sanpete Valley, incredible sunsets, and some of the darkest skies in Utah for stargazing. Wildlife like elk and wild turkeys often wander nearby, adding to the natural charm. This is primitive camping: Flat areas for tents, vans, or small RVs (no hookups yet). Fire pits and a portable toilet will be available. A shared water tank will be on-site until our well is completed. 🌸 Road Note (and a family saying): The access road is currently rough and best suited for high-clearance vehicles (SUVs, vans, or trucks). Our family saying is, “When the fun stops, the adventure begins,” and we think the drive in is just the start of your adventure here. We are also planting lavender fields that will grow into a signature feature for guests in the coming seasons. For now, enjoy the serenity, starry skies, and your own basecamp near Maple Canyon. ✨ What Guests Love Just 15 minutes from Maple Canyon climbing. Big open skies → stargazing paradise. Peaceful farm setting away from the crowds. A family motto that makes your trip part of the adventure. 💵 Pricing (Introductory Year 1) Tent/Van Sites: $20–$25/night (per group up to 4). Primitive RV Sites (no hookups): $25–$30/night. Extra Guests: +$5 per person. (Rates will increase once the road is improved and lavender fields are blooming — book now to enjoy our first-season adventure rates!)Situated on a working family farm in Fountain Green, Utah at nearly 6,000 feet elevation, Hansen Farm sits just 15 minutes from Maple Canyon — one of the world's premier sport climbing destinations with over 550 routes ranging from beginner 5.4 to elite 5.14. When the Maple Canyon campground fills up — and it does, fast — this is your base camp. The farm itself is worth the stay on its own terms. Elk herds move through at dusk, wild turkeys patrol the brush line at dawn, and the Milky Way spreads wall to wall overhead. The Sanpete Valley stretches out below with the Wasatch Plateau rising behind the property. This is honest high desert Utah at its finest — sagebrush, scrub oak, native grasses, and genuinely dark skies. Whether you're here to climb, hike, or simply disconnect from everything, Hansen Farm gives you the space and the silence to do it properly. Nearby: Maple Canyon — 15 min (550+ sport climbing routes, beginner through 5.14, world-class conglomerate rock, natural arch, Box Canyon) Maple Canyon Arch Trail — 15 min (1.5 mile moderate hike, stunning conglomerate arch) Fountain Green town center — 10 min (fuel, basic groceries) Sanpete Valley Hospital, Gunnison — 20 min (emergencies) Manti Utah Temple — 25 min Nephi — 30 min (full services, restaurants) This is a primitive bring-your-own-everything campsite. Come prepared. Disconnect completely. Sleep well after a hard day on the wall. ⚠️ Agricultural Fire Hazard: The Hansen farm periodically grows drought-resistant grass seed crops. Dry grass seed is highly flammable — significantly more so than typical pasture. Combined with Utah's current active wildfire conditions, guests must exercise extreme caution with any ignition source on the property. This is a working farm and fire safety is a shared responsibility between us and every guest.
