Our homestead is home to our family, chickens, and a livestock guardian dog. We also have a small orchard and a garden. Most of our 12+ acres are wooded and our property backs up to thousands of acres of public forest land owned by Clemson University. A trail connects our backyard to the main network of hiking/mountain biking trails in Clemson Forest. For those familiar with the forest, our property is in the vicinity of Wildcat Technical, Wounded Road, and Chainbreaker trails. As private and wooded as our property is, we are only 10-15 minutes from downtown Clemson and less than 10 minutes from the small towns of Central and Six Mile. Lakes Hartwell and Keowee are also short drives. We currently offer a single campsite, which can accommodate several tents or a camper van. Our campsite features a composting toilet outhouse, and water is available from spigots at our house. Though fairly close to our house, the campsite has a very private feel due to being completely surrounded by a hardwood forest.Pitch your tent or park your camper van at our secluded campsite with direct access to the Clemson Experimental Forest trail system. This campsite, accessed by a short, unpaved road, sits within hardwoods overlooking steep forested hillsides and a small woodland pond. Several tent spots are available including a large, level tent pad. There is a pull-in spot for a camper van. The site includes a large stone fire pit, a picnic table, a charcoal grill, and a composting toilet. You may gather fallen wood for fires or split firewood is available for purchase if needed. City water is available from a spigot at our house, or you may filter water from the spring-fed pond below the campsite. This site gives you direct, private access to 40 miles of biking, hiking, and equestrian trails in the Clemson Experimental Forest. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your hosts (avid mountain bikers and trail runners themselves) if you want tips on the best trails for your adventure. Don’t miss the opportunity to see Wildcat Falls, only a 1.5-mile hike away. You may also make yourself at home and explore our own 12+ acre homestead, including wooded trails, bamboo grove, creek, small orchard, garden, and chickens. Homestead products available for purchase include firewood, eggs, and produce seasonally. Please note that this campsite is on a small family homestead that includes chickens and a large, gentle livestock guardian dog. Ursa guards our free-range flock and our free-range kids from predators of all kinds. She loves our campers and will likely hang out with you at the campsite, particularly if you have young kids, whom she adores. She is inside to sleep from about 9:30 pm-7 am to provide for a quieter night, but otherwise, she has free range of the property. The town of Clemson and Clemson University are a 10-minute drive, giving easy access to shopping, restaurants, and sporting events (Go Tigers!). The small towns of Central and Six Mile are also both less than 10 minutes away. If lakes are your thing, access points to Lakes Hartwell and Keowee are minutes away. For a quieter experience, drive a bit further to Lake Jocassee.

Very easy to get to. You are somewhat close to the family household, but by no means did I find it too close for comfort. There's a great little walking path past summer pond on the property and a connecting trail to the Clemson Experimental Forest. We felt very comfortable and relaxed there.

Very cool, secluded camp spot in the forest. Communication and instructions from the host were great, would highly recommend. Even had a short visit from the big, fluffy white dog, was friendly, sniffed around for five minutes then mosied back to the house. If you’re in a 4Runner, truck or campervan make sure you have a way to level out your rig. Thanks!

Great little secluded camp spot. Went solo for a night because of some construction near my apartment that made it inaccessible; and just one night was great. They have a really cute outside dog named Ursa who loves some head rubs if she visits you :)

Great site! My boyfriend and I wanted to test out our new tent, and this site was lovely. Directions were clear and easy to follow to reach the site. Picnic table was perfect for making our meals. The firepit was great, and the wood we purchased from them was already at the campsite waiting for us. Hosts checked in shortly after we got there to let us know we could reach out if we needed anything. Ursa stopped by a few times as well, super sweet dog! The trails nearby are lovely as well, and we had a great time checking them out. There seems to be a ton of options whether you're looking for something shorter or longer - we were only there for one night so couldn't check out too much, but there seemed to be plenty if you're there for a longer stay. Definitely a nice getaway!

Extraordinary experience we could not have replicated at any traditional camp grounds. The owner was kind enough to sell us great firewood at fair price, give us a handful of ideas of areas to take the kids to explore in the area and on the property, and have total patience for our kids curiosity with the chickens and super friendly farm dog. I also love having a private camp site versus some of the other typical ones with no room between your site and others, great setup for our group!

My family (husband, myself, and two little girls 2 and 4) had a great trip to Endless Forest last weekend! It was an easy ride from Athens, GA (about 1 hr 45 mins) and the site was great -- a nice big flat spot for a tent (which fit our 10x18 perfectly), a picnic table, a firepit with logs to sit on, a charcoal grill, a super nice/clean outhouse, AND a cool obstacle course that kept our girls busy on a rainy morning. Hudson and Heather were incredibly nice and accommodating, and their boys coming to visit and play with our girls was so nice and definitely my girls' favorite part. Ursa, the Great Pyrenees' appearances were also so welcomed -- a true gentle giant who immediately kissed both of my girls and came around a few times during our stay for pets. The site backs directly up to the forest where you can pick up a couple short trails or a couple longer ones depending on what you are looking for. The spot is very peaceful... a few roosters and a few dogs in the distance were about all we heard aside from the crickets. The only thing that would have made the site slightly more perfect for us would be a second flattened spot for the picnic table or a camp table. It was a little tricky to find a flat surface to set our camp stove on or to set a glass to pour juice, etc. With that said, our tent is HUGE... if you have a smaller tent, the tent pad could easily fit your tent and camp table, etc. We will definitely be back for the great spot and great hosts!

Sunset in the Endless Forest

What a wonderful stay! We stayed in our rooftop tent and got to watch the sunset from within the trees. The host came and introduced themselves to us and made sure we had everything we needed. Their livestock dog was so lovely and sweet and we enjoyed seeing the chickens as we left in the morning! If we weren't so sore from our hike the previous day, we would have followed the trail options they gave us. All around it was a great stay, and we hope to come back another time.

Camping on Hudson’s land was an unforgettable experience. If you’re a nature lover, it doesn’t get much better than this! There is endless forest, walking trails, bike trails, an obstacle course, a pond, a beautiful view of sunsets. Hudson was a wonderful host, who went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful break from the norm.

We loved the fact that we were the only campers and had plenty of space to spread out all to ourselves. Ursa the Great Pyrenees made daily trips to visit us which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Firewood was at our campsite upon arrival as requested and there was plenty of downed wood to use in the area otherwise. The composting bathroom was well maintained and a nice convenience. We ended up brining 7 gallons of fresh water which lasted our group the entire trip with even some to spare - so we did not have to trek up to the house for fresh water (not a long walk if we needed it).

Definitely one of the best Hipcamps we’ve been too. The outhouse was very clean. We enjoyed hiking the experimental forest which connects by trail to the camp. With just a short drive to Lake Issaqueena, we were able to swim and paddle board.

Exactly what you're looking for!

This place was great! Its exactly what you'd picture when you're looking for a tent camping spot. It's a 15 minute drive from Clemson university and Ma's Grocery just down the road has almost anything you'd need at a great price! Back to the site: there is a level mulch tent pad central to the camping area. The campfire pit was just the right size and was accompanied by about 5 chopped trunks for seating. The picnic table was handy, and the trees made a perfect spot for some camping hammocks (I'd recommend bringing some paracord for your hammocks, as the trees are spaced further than what most hammock kits can reach). Their dog Ursa is super sweet! She loves to stop by and say hi! I can't guarantee that she'll leave any food left out alone, however if she can get to it, then you aren't storing it right to begin with. My only qualm with the site is the spider webs. Not necessarily the number of spiders, as any ones I saw around the site were tiny. However, the webs can be bothersome at times. As for the trails, they aren't as marked as you might prefer, but there are a couple. As for privacy: the site is a small ways downhill from Hudson's home, but it's just far enough that you're out of earshot and most eyesight. So no concerns there. tl;dr: Definitely recommended! It has its quirks, but the site is beautiful and has everything you could expect out of a waterless, electric-free tent site! Close enough to everything important, and a great place to stay.
