Camp Moondog is a 36-acre forested property hosting 3 campsites in beautiful Greenville, South Carolina. This property is located right across the river, or a short 5-minute drive to Dolly Cooper State Park that draws in disc-golf enthusiasts and park explorers alike.
Camp moondog is only a 10-minute drive from the world-renowned Downtown Greenville, a destination known for its excellent restaurants, festivals, shopping, and social scene. This is a unique opportunity to get “off the grid” without having to make those ‘off the grid’ sacrifices.

We will be happy to use our ATV's to assist with getting your supplies to any of the campsites--just shoot us a message on the app if you need help!
Because there is always ample deadfall all over the property for firewood collection, pre-packaged firewood bundles are not supplied or available for sale. Please take this into consideration if there has been recent rainfall.

Where to begin?! We decided last minute to get away for a quiet, sunny afternoon by the water, and Michael’s Hipcamp was the answer! You will find yourself driving down roads that gradually become less residential and more secluded. Shortly before your destination is Michael’s home, cute dog and chickens and a lovely barn. Michael warmly greeted us and shared the story of how he found such an awesome property. We were given directions to The Bend and had the entire site to ourselves. We parked on site and set up camp, and then brought some chairs down to a dock by the Saluda River where we sunbathed and watched wildlife and enjoyed a picnic lunch. At sundown, solar-powered lights softly lit the campsite and we built a fire as the stars came out. The Bend is a great spot for stargazing! We slept peacefully and loved every minute of our get-away! Many thanks to Michael for being a super host and allowing us to enjoy a little piece of heaven by the river!

A great place to camp. Right along the river. Very quiet place and enjoyed staying here. Directions were easy to follow. Would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in staying close to downtown Greenville or just looking for a nice place to unwind and get away!

My son and I loved camping here. The Mike was super nice. I actually made a mistake and booked for the wrong weekend but showed up when I meant to book it for and he allowed us to stay. He had a handful of trails for us to hike and being right on the river was nice. Will definitely come back again and probably bring the rest of the family back.
