She's been well cared for over the past 50+ years, and only the things that really matter have been updated - bathroom, larger instant water heater, new AC, microwave, fridge, Keurig coffeemaker, memory foam mattresses with latex toppers, dedicated WiFi, surge-protected USB outlets – but as far as everything else, from the '70s vintage cookware, utensils, linens, books, games, puzzles, and many '70s music CDs to discover, you'll really dig her vibe. GUEST ACCESS Guests have a gated private double entrance/exit driveway. The entire guest area is fenced/gated, guests have access to the lower property where the ponies are, seating on the bridge for a. m. coffee or p. m. libation. Beware though - the ponies may come begging for a sip. If you do enter the lower property to hang out with the ponies or check out our mini farm, PLEASE REMEMBER TO 1) close the gate behind you, 2) make sure the kids and pets are always under your direct supervision. HOST INTERACTION WITH GUESTS We live in the house on the property, but unless you need us for something you won’t see us at all, and we won't disrupt your stay. You may see us coming and going, feeding the ponies, doing yard work, etc., but we like our space and quiet living, so we won't invade your portion of the property during your stay. It is impossible to state how lovely this location and hosts are! Every accommodation and possible need was sumptiuously met. The room had a plush sense of comfort and a thoughtful design for utility. It is a perfect location for endless hiking and historical adventures, and the town of Pickens is adorable yet also full of every necessary type of shop or eatery. The property is impeccable and peaceful. The hosts clearly love their home, town and nature. They were deeply kind and were a wealth of information about area hikes and destinations!

Weekend Trip to Forest & Farm Camping Retreat

The cozy cabin on wheels was the perfect spot for a Thanksgiving weekend camping trip with my son and dog. The cabinet itself was adorable and you could tell a lot of thought was put into the amenities. Even though it froze while we were there, we were snug as a bug in our little cabin. I loved that my dog could be off leash and play with the host’s dog and cat as well. Although the house was not far, we felt we had all the privacy we needed. Our host was just a message away from answering any questions we may have had and gave lots of local recommendations. We will definitely be back!

4 nights at Creekside Cabin at Lake Hartwell

I have to say, this was hands-down the best organized, cleanest, easiest, most amenity-laden cabin I’ve ever rented. So many details, from the embroidered robes to the bound book of instructions and recommendations. From the kitchen appointments to the coffee. There are really too many amazing little things to list here, but you could really tell the owners absolutely care about the experience their property provides. And we went panning for gold in the creek below the back deck and even found a little! It was incredibly comfortable and lots of fun. Just make sure you’re ok with stairs and aren’t too large to fit the spiral to the loft. I honestly cannot think of a single improvement to make. Didn’t even matter that it rained so much, because there was plenty left to do inside.

Weekend Trip to Field Trip Glamping Travelers Rest

Absolutely FABULOUS getaway. The facilities are beautiful- clean, warm, and welcoming. Leaves you feeling like a home away from home. We were only there for one night- but we didn’t want to leave. We had our own campfire right outside the tent. If you forgot anything - no worries! The camp store had everything you could possibly need. We will most definitely be back.

This was a delightful glamping experience. The tents are clean and the beds while firm were comfortable. Everything is well maintained. We spent some time in the sauna, w much was nice. There is a little shop adjacent to the common area which has additional supplies and foodstuffs if needed. Great getaway for a weekend or a trip to the woods.

We had a great time enjoying the glamp set up and all the wonderful amenities. It was very nice being in the woods but still close to the water. The boys loved the corn hole and walking the trail/property. That outdoor kitchen was the perfect set up for all our cooking needs. Thank you Steve for being great host. We look forward to visiting again.

The cabin had pretty much everything you needed to have a good time, and the covered gazebo was nice to eat at and play cards. The road noise can be a little loud at times but it’s peaceful at night with the little creek by the camp. It’s very close to some good hiking!

A perfect middle balance of tent and cabin for a fun outdoor experience. Everything from the location not far from the water but tucked into the woods, the activities he has available to his guest, and the host 100% hospitality was just perfect. This is most definitely going to be a return trip for future travels.

Absolutely amazing experience. We stayed at the creek house and it was the cutest little place right over the creek. Damon was super friendly and met us and showed us around. Will def try to visit again.
