In 2013 I decided to live life differently and start from the ground up building with natural materials and found materials. At that time I was fortunate enough to have the land passed to me and I started building a home for myself and to be close to my mothers home nearby. I have to say, this was hands-down the best organized, cleanest, easiest, most amenity-laden cabin I’ve ever rented. So many details, from the embroidered robes to the bound book of instructions and recommendations. From the kitchen appointments to the coffee. There are really too many amazing little things to list here, but you could really tell the owners absolutely care about the experience their property provides. And we went panning for gold in the creek below the back deck and even found a little! It was incredibly comfortable and lots of fun. Just make sure you’re ok with stairs and aren’t too large to fit the spiral to the loft. I honestly cannot think of a single improvement to make. Didn’t even matter that it rained so much, because there was plenty left to do inside.

This was such a delightful place to stay, and we're already making plans to come back. The Creekhouse is the perfect blend of roughing it with access to basic amenities. My kids enjoyed playing in the creek and exploring the property, and I appreciated the quiet freedom to let them roam. Damon is a wonderful host, friendly and very responsive. When the temperature dropped suddenly, he made sure we had heaters and warm blankets for sleeping, and we stayed cozy. My favorite part was falling asleep to the sound of the creek directly below us.
