The trail is 76.2 miles of waterfalls, rivers, and mountains stretching from Oconee State Park to Table Rock State Park. As soon as the oldest child moved out of his room above the garage, we started hosting thru-hikers hostel-style. Fair warning: it’s an “open concept” bathroom, true studio style. It’s right after you go through the guard gate. The guard can give you directions. It is in the section called the sports complex. They only area off-limits to guests is my locked owners closet. The rest of the house has complete access. Other things to note Questions I get occasionally from guests: one bedroom is on the main level. Once you get in the house it requires no additional stairs. 3 bedrooms have queen beds, the master has a king and except the lift has a daybed with a pop up trundle., usually it is set as twin beds. We enjoyed the remoteness of the location and only 20 mins away from the exit and general shopping/food. Everything was clean and worked well even in the cold during new years. It was a great relaxing time away from everything.

This cozy cabin on the mountain was absolutely perfect for our family. Everything log. Beautiful. Little hikes through the backyard, coffee and book with a blanket on the porch, games and movies by the fireplace. Owners are awesome. We're already planning our return!

It is impossible to state how lovely this location and hosts are! Every accommodation and possible need was sumptiuously met. The room had a plush sense of comfort and a thoughtful design for utility. It is a perfect location for endless hiking and historical adventures, and the town of Pickens is adorable yet also full of every necessary type of shop or eatery. The property is impeccable and peaceful. The hosts clearly love their home, town and nature. They were deeply kind and were a wealth of information about area hikes and destinations!

Weekend Trip to Tumble Down Shack

Richie was a great host and the shack was cute. The land is just uphill of the host's main house. You don't have to worry about the shared property because he respects your privacy. He said hello to us when we arrived and then we saw him again just before we checked out. It rained each night we stayed here and the shack kept us warm and dry.

I have to say, this was hands-down the best organized, cleanest, easiest, most amenity-laden cabin I’ve ever rented. So many details, from the embroidered robes to the bound book of instructions and recommendations. From the kitchen appointments to the coffee. There are really too many amazing little things to list here, but you could really tell the owners absolutely care about the experience their property provides. And we went panning for gold in the creek below the back deck and even found a little! It was incredibly comfortable and lots of fun. Just make sure you’re ok with stairs and aren’t too large to fit the spiral to the loft. I honestly cannot think of a single improvement to make. Didn’t even matter that it rained so much, because there was plenty left to do inside.

The Nest was the perfect getaway for me and my dog. It's comfy, cozy, and clean. It's a great location if you want to explore all the natural beauty WNC has to offer. It's small, but has everything you might need and the hot shower was a big plus after spending the day outside.

Cabin was absolutely gorgeous, Susan and her cleaning lady was very accommodating, especially considering we made last minute reservations. The cabin and location were pretty good, my only complaints would be that the gas fireplace didn't seem to work, and the hot tub was an inflatable tub instead of a full size hot tub, and we couldn't seem to find the remote for the downstairs television. These slight issues aside, the cabin itself was still quite lovely and we enjoyed our time there.

I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing way to celebrate my birthday than staying at the Creekside Cabin. Most of our time was spent on the peaceful back deck, soaking in the quiet seclusion and calming sounds of nature. The well-stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare and enjoy several delicious meals. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Clean cabin, more than enough space and beds for everyone. Kitchen is stocked with all the utensils and cooking equipment you would need. Having a washer and dryer was a plus due to all the outdoor activities we did up there. Easy access to a lot of outdoor attractions and towns. Host was spot on with directions. Definitely will save this place for another time up here in north Georgia.
