As soon as the oldest child moved out of his room above the garage, we started hosting thru-hikers hostel-style. Fair warning: it’s an “open concept” bathroom, true studio style. This unique farmhouse style home is a great choice for travelers and an excellent venue for gatherings by local residents. It has easy access but the property has abundant trees and is secluded from nearby roads and homes for privacy. The interior, baths, and kitchen are updated but maintain a pleasant farmhouse feel. The host had it perfectly clean and well stocked. It has a bonfire pit and a smaller fire pit for outside gatherings and the hot tub was immaculately clean, heated, and ready for use when we arrived. Kids can enjoy swings and slides. We used it for a small gathering where about a dozen guests gathered during the day and six spent the night. Could not have been happier with property or hosts.
Fireworks are legal and permitted within reasonable hours. Horses are welcome.

Jen and Joe moved to the South Carolina Upstate in 2023 and discovered they were within minutes of the Foothills Trail. The trail is 76.2 miles of waterfalls, rivers, and mountains stretching from Oconee State Park to Table Rock State Park. As soon as the oldest child moved out of his room above the garage, we started hosting thru-hikers hostel-style. Fair warning: it’s an “open concept” bathroom, true studio style. Great for one person but could be awkward for two.

This unique farmhouse style home is a great choice for travelers and an excellent venue for gatherings by local residents. It has easy access but the property has abundant trees and is secluded from nearby roads and homes for privacy. The interior, baths, and kitchen are updated but maintain a pleasant farmhouse feel. The host had it perfectly clean and well stocked. It has a bonfire pit and a smaller fire pit for outside gatherings and the hot tub was immaculately clean, heated, and ready for use when we arrived. Kids can enjoy swings and slides. We used it for a small gathering where about a dozen guests gathered during the day and six spent the night. Could not have been happier with property or hosts.
Fireworks are legal and permitted within reasonable hours. Horses are welcome.

This was a spur of the moment stay and turned out good. It is a little difficult without running water to the cabin with kids (there is a bath house with restrooms within walking distance). The cabin itself was beautiful, we stayed in number 1. There are 4 of them very close by, so if you are seeking privacy it won't be here. Across the cabin is a fenced in area for the farm animals. We did not check that out due to timing of other plans, but is probably cool for the kids. We were able to have a campfire which was really nice to have. All in all, if you are just needing a spot to sleep id recommend it, not so much for hanging out, especially with younger kids. I have a 10 and 4 year old.
The drive way is paved most of the way, lots of twists and turns. We arrived after sundown so it was a little challenging finding but nothing crazy.

We loved this cozy spot! As soon as we got to the cabin, their sweet dog greeted us with love! :) Great hospitality from Christy (attentive to any needs) and her husband got us set up immediately with the fire pit, plus they had a little bit of heat going inside the cabin. They made sure we were comfy, as we stayed on a very cold couple of nights (we brought a little heater and nice warm sleeping bags+blankets.) Cabin came with some heaters, but make sure to do some extra preparing for cold nights. (We brought a blow up mattress and some heavy duty warm sleeping bags and put a couple extra blankets in the sleeping bags to do the trick.)
Fire pit was great (came w chairs), firewood provided, and all of our basic needs at a great price. Outhouse available on the property. This is good for an escape and a good camping experience. Would love to come back.
***Bonus: We saw some shooting stars - view is amazing at night. And some turkeys came through the trails on our last day! Oh, and their dog came and told us bye when we were leaving and we started to tear up a little! 💛

It is impossible to state how lovely this location and hosts are! Every accommodation and possible need was sumptiuously met. The room had a plush sense of comfort and a thoughtful design for utility. It is a perfect location for endless hiking and historical adventures, and the town of Pickens is adorable yet also full of every necessary type of shop or eatery. The property is impeccable and peaceful. The hosts clearly love their home, town and nature. They were deeply kind and were a wealth of information about area hikes and destinations!

The cozy cabin on wheels was the perfect spot for a Thanksgiving weekend camping trip with my son and dog. The cabinet itself was adorable and you could tell a lot of thought was put into the amenities. Even though it froze while we were there, we were snug as a bug in our little cabin. I loved that my dog could be off leash and play with the host’s dog and cat as well. Although the house was not far, we felt we had all the privacy we needed. Our host was just a message away from answering any questions we may have had and gave lots of local recommendations. We will definitely be back!

I was looking for a place to disconnect and do a little writing and couple of days at Bill's Cabin did the trick. If you don't mind limited electricity and cell service as well as fetching your water from a spring, this rustic cabin is the perfect place to escape and enjoy some downtime. Hartwell was extremely accommodating and with a good sleeping bag, it was plenty warm in late November. Highly recommend!

The hosts were wonderful—greeted me with smiles and immediately lit up the fire 🔥, making me feel right at home. And let’s talk about their two dogs! 🐶💕 The big one (I wish I remembered her name!) was SO sweet and snuggly, even hopped up on the rocking chair for some cuddles.
Everything here is a breeze—super easy to find and use, including the outdoor toilet 🚽 (which is a plus when camping!). Make sure you wake up early to catch the sunrise 🌅 over the mountains… it’s seriously stunning.
All in all, I had a fantastic stay! I’m already planning my next visit and will definitely be spreading the word about this gem. 10/10, would glamp again! ⭐️🏞️🥰

Two things I wanna mention though, if the temperature is dipping below 40°F make sure you have a warm enough sleeping bag or quilt because the little heater they have in there didn’t do much at that temperature, and secondly, I just had a 2 wheel drive truck and the driveway is very steep getting in and out and I was barely able to make it so just keep that in mind. But otherwise, it’s a beautiful place on a beautiful property and I would have loved to stay another night. Only took me about 15 minutes to get to Brevard for some dinner.

Weekend Trip to Singletrack Shack
It was nice and private. You really feel safe on the property and the host are great. They provide a lot of things that you may need as well, such as cooking utensils. The trails on the property are a nice touch too.

Awesome spot near both Pisgah and DuPont trails. Everything was as advertised. Host was very easy to work with, and she had two lovely dogs! I was only stopping through, so I didn't get to test out the single track on the property. However, next time through I'm definitely going to stay here again!

My little family and I loved Christy’s lil Cabin in the mountains so cozy and warm even in late October, we enjoyed the fire pit and loved the proximity of the outhouse. This lil cabin was home away from home. Christy and Rick were awesome hosts and even set up a bonfire for us. We loved it and made many memories here!

My toddler was begging to go camping, and this was a perfect option for our first kid-friendly go at it. The ability to cook some warm meals on the stove was helpful, and not have to deal with a tent was very convenient. Mattresses on the bunks were comfy. We loved being tucked up on the hill in the Corn Crib.

2 nights at Cold Spring Basecamp
It’s a lovely, cozy little camp. My wife and I enjoyed staying here a couple of nights and certainly would again!
