Little Slice of Heaven!
June’s land was so beautiful. It was a clear, peaceful, quiet night. We explored her property along the tranquil running creek, admired all the summer flowers and herbs growing, and spent some time with June and her sweet pups. June is an incredible woman, a thoughtful host, and we absolutely hope to return to her sweet little campsite soon.

Travel trailer camping with 2 dogs
This is a tucked away and private site with two different hikes on June's property. You can't see June's house from the site. June is an incredibly gracious host and her land is gorgeous with wonderful lush gardens. The site has a fire pit, picnic table, and electric hook-up. The sewer dump is located not too far away. June has put together an incredibly informative binder and her local knowledge about local hikes is expert. Her two dogs, Mollie and Peaches are lovely and got along with our two pups. June mentioned if her dogs bothered us that she would secure them, but they were no bother. They do their job and signal when strangers come up the driveway.

Quiet but concern over dogs
Overall an ok experience. June was very kind and provided a guidebook to local hikes which was helpful. Electric and power were easily accessible. It was a little less private for camper hookup than expected based on the listing description - very close to the main house. Still doable.
That being said, I have a single, major concern regarding the host’s dogs. The younger of the dogs was very defensive and aggressive while I was there with my dog. My dog is a sweet, submissive animal, and even when by the camper (in the private camping spot), was attacked by the younger dog. I was told the dog would be tethered during the rest of the stay - unfortunately this did not occur. Both of the host’s dogs came to the camping spot early EVERY morning and barked for several minutes outside the camper. The younger dog was confrontational several times with my dog, while we were at the private camping spot. Several of these incidents were witnessed by June. Despite this, the dogs were not tethered, as had been promised. I had to ask again, after yet another attack on my dog within the campsite, that she please tether her dog out of concern for safety of mine.
Again, June is a very nice woman, however I would recommend requesting the dogs be kept away from the campsite for anyone wanting to stay.

June's property was great. They had water and power, and plenty of space to roam. All positive things to say about this wonderful hipcamp.

First time camping
June’s camp sight was wonderful.
We arrived later than expected (9pm). Traveling with a 6.5 year old requires frequent stops, plus a car sickness event about an hour out (windy mountain roads). Needless to say, after that we were ready for bed!
We were greeted first by June’s lovely pups and then June. She pointed us in the right direction and met us at the sight. She showed us the where the water and electric hook ups were and chatted for a few minutes. We were tent camping (first time with the kid, second time for us). It was probably a laughable sight watching my husband and I try to get camp set up as quick as possible before the rain was due to start.
We saw fireflies, which was exciting for us Floridians.
We didn’t get to fully take advantage of the land unfortunately, we were basically there to sleep and then be on our way.
We did explore the cow pasture in the morning when we woke, before breaking down the camp sight. One of the pups joined us on our short adventure.
My 6.5 year loved the creek and even got to pet a curious cow.
It was mostly quiet. There is a road right across the way of the camp sight, so other than a few loud cars a couple times and the sound of distant dogs barking, it was just the sounds of crickets and thunder.
We didn’t have a signal or WiFi until a ways down the road, so if you rely on your phone for GPS download your route when you have a signal prior to getting the sight for you leave and don’t know which way to go.

Cozy, private, quiet awesomeness!!
We absolutely loved our stay with Miss June!! The property is beautiful, and our host is one of the most lovely humans we’ve ever met! We will definitely be returning when we are in the area. We had a nook tucked away on her property with just enough privacy but close enough to walk to the carport for Wi-Fi. Water and power were easy peasy. She even has a creek running through her property which makes it even more lovely. We would recommend her place for anyone looking for a nice, quiet, and private spot to camp with a super friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable host!

Hikes through the property were fun and dogs kept us company on the walks, almost seeming to ensure we did not get lost!
We will plan on returning and enjoying the area from this site!

Firefly magic at Harmony Glen!
Serene, calm, restorative--- these are but a few adjectives that could describe our stay at Harmony Glen. Our welcoming host, June, and her canine companions, Peaches and Mollie, made us feel right at home upon our arrival. June gave us a tour of her property, and highlighted all the accessible facilities and amenities (fire-ring, outdoor toilet, water source, camping area, hiking path, swing, etc.) that would be available to my husband and I during our stay. June was even so kind as to share some of her delicious peas and lettuce from her thriving garden. Thank you, June!
During our stay at Harmony Glen, My husband and I pitched our tent on the ample campground. Harmony Glen is reserved for just a single person/group so you get the whole space to yourself. The camping plot was very well maintained and private. A picnic table is provided for your convenience. We also had a fire ring, and wood was available for a nominal fee.
The entire property is in the ballpark of 40 acres. There is a large, open pasture just a short walk from the campsite. Hiking up to the perimeter of that pasture, you are offered lovely, pastoral and mountain views. If you prefer a more strenuous hike, there are numerous parks/ trails in the surrounding area.
Our evening at Harmony Glen was the highlight of our stay. The flickering light display of the synchronous fireflies was ethereally mesmerizing. The campsite was aglow with bioluminescent magic! It was unexpected and perfect.

Great Hipcamp experience
June is a great camp host and the property is wonderful. We parked our 25 ft bumper hitch with no problem on her beautiful pice of North Carolina. Easy to get to Sylvia for food and shopping as well as the many trails and waterfalls in the area. Sorry we had to leave and will stay again when we’re in the area. Just a short, but narrow drive from the parkway.

June was such a wonderful host. We were delighted to spend our first RV camping night at such a beautiful, warm and welcoming space! We got to watch the full moon rise over the rolling hillside and had a campfire in the easy to park in RV site. June, we thank you for your kindness!

Camping with animals and toddler!
We loved staying at Harmony Glen. 100% recommend. There was a surprise cold front that came through on the weekend of our visit, so we had about two inches of snow. So, most of our time was spent inside our camper. However, we did walk some of the property and saw the cows, stream, and one waterfall. We look forward to coming back when it’s warmer. Thankfully, we had a 100’ extra extension cord and were able to run a second heater and were nice and toasty! We also brought a heated hose for our water, but it was just a tad short to reach the water hookup. So, we had to connect to her hose that was there and it unfortunately wasn’t heated and froze. We were able to boiled water that we brought to unfreeze it, though. Camping is all about being prepared for the unexpected! Ha! We had our two dogs with us, also, and they had great fun running the hills. The campsite is a little bit closer to the house than it appears in the pictures, but we weren’t bothered by this.
