Amazing, the host was so sweet. Very accommodating had a lot of different things like cooking tools, canoes, other camping items that you would need and possibly forgot.

I stayed for two nights and three days at Pine in the Sky in Southgate, Ontario, at the Cozy Forest site, and it was exactly what I needed to recharge. Surrounded by tall, whispering pines, the campsite felt private and peaceful, with just the right balance of seclusion and easy access to explore the property.
My goal was to step away from the noise of daily life — to read, reflect, and enjoy nature — and this place delivered. Mornings brought golden sunlight streaming through the trees, afternoons were spent exploring the property or nearby trails (like in Flesherton) and relaxing in the fresh air, and evenings closed with the calming sounds of the forest and campfire. It was a perfect rhythm for slowing down and reconnecting with myself. I was also able to do some stargazing and catch some of the Perseids meteor shower!
A huge part of what made the experience so memorable was Joan, the property owner, and her two dogs Sid and Onyx. She’s warm, welcoming, and clearly cares about creating a space where guests can truly unwind. That personal touch made all the difference and gave the stay a sense of home, even out in the woods.
If you’re looking for a quiet escape to reflect, read, or simply breathe deeply under the trees, I can’t recommend Pine in the Sky enough. The beauty of the landscape, the thoughtful layout of the campsites, and the kindness of the host all combine to make it a true gem. I left feeling rested, inspired, and eager to return.

We loved our weekend away at Joan’s place. There were seven of us, so some stayed in the Hideway in the Pines and some in the Strawberry Fields Bunkie. We enjoyed having access to a great kitchen and full bathroom in the hideaway. The forest area in front of the bunkie was perfect for playing with the kids and having a campfire. We would return again!

Joan was fabulous at timely communication and figuring out which site was best for me and my Class B Campervan. I Was looking for shade because of our scorching temperatures and some flexibility because of poor air quality. I got both. I was there in a quieter day so not much in un and out traffic beside the site. Picnic table and fire pit were good. I could recommend that the site be cleaned up of the many large sticks on it. Wouldn’t take long. Also Joan has potable water but no food grade hose so I filled at home instead. Joan had great recommendations for the area.

The land is beautiful and there is something for everyone!! This is not my first trip to Joan's! It will also not be my last! Joan is amazing and has become a more than a host to me shes a friend!!
I highly recommend any of the spots on Joan's Land!!

The meadow site was nice and open and far away from other sites and the road. The kids could play around and not interrupt other sites. They loved kayaking, swimming, looking for frogs, playing catch and having campfires. The fur kid (dog) also loved it. Other dogs were friendly with our dog. Great time! Next time we might go earlier in the summer so we don’t get as many bug bites! Haha.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Joan’s place! From the moment we arrived, Joan was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Her kindness and hospitality truly made us feel at home.
The space was clean, cozy, and had everything we could possibly ask for. Joan’s thoughtful touches and attention to detail made our stay even more special. She was always just a message away and so polite and patient throughout.

The spot we stayed at was absolutely beautiful, Sunrise and sunset on either side of our site... stunning. Close walk to the river for a little fishing spot.
If you get the chance take a boat and explore the river.

We had such a lovely little escape at Pine the Sky! The bunkie is absolutely adorable — clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and reading in the shade,
The property itself is beautiful — peaceful and full of charm, with a gentle river flowing through. We enjoyed a refreshing dip, canoes are available for a paddle too. There’s an outdoor shower and the outhouse was clean and well-maintained.
Joan is a wonderful host — warm, welcoming, and super quick to respond to messages. She made us feel completely at home.
If you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled retreat to recharge, this spot is a gem. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

We had a great stay! It’s perfect for disconnecting from everyday hustle and simply unwinding. I enjoyed the smell of the pine trees while having our morning coffee! Joan is a great host, very welcoming and thoughtful. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay! It was well located for the things we wanted to do. In spite of being next to the road it was surprisingly peaceful and private. Joan is a great host and offers amenities like a hot shower, drinking water and garbage disposal that many others don't.

A great, cozy getaway with sunsets and campfires and a rather nice outhouse and outdoor shower. Joan is so welcoming and helpful to any and every need; responds quickly, is close by, but also leaves you to enjoy your stay. Would definitely stay here again!

The host was extremely welcoming. We arrived late and reserved late but everything was setup and she explained everything to us at our arrival. The camping ground was very isolated and pretty.

We loved the experience with Pine the Sky. Joan is such a wonderful host, she's very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The Bunkie is very private but still close to the amenities. The cabin is cozy with a futon downstairs and a bed upstairs. We brought our own pillows but there are a couple there. The outside of the cabin is really nice, there are pine trees surrounding the bunkie and and a wild strawberry field about 20 feet away. There are a couple trails, one of which leads to the river. There are a lot of fish in there, they're pretty small but it's fun for catch and release. I highly recommend staying here!

Joan was an exceptional host. From texting to see how we were settling in, to lending us a screwdriver and dog bug spray - Joan was friendly, responsive, and always helpful. She also was very attentive to my dog’s sensitivity to other dogs - working with us so we could get some extra privacy for a relaxing stay. Looking forward to our next visit!

This place is spectacular. Joan is super cool. I stayed here on a bikepacking trip. Hot showers, cold water to drink and a cozy cabin with a comfortable bed. I couldn't ask for more.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Strawberry Fields Bunkie. Joan's land is well maintained, and the paths are well marked.
We felt the Bunkie site was very private but close to the amenities. There was plenty of dry wood available. You really felt like you were in the backwoods,
Joan was lovely. She checked in on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. She recommended a local place to take the kids fishing and swimming just 10 minutes away, and it was perfect. We really appreciated the recommendation.
Its a heavily wooded area which has many benefits, but it also comes with a lot of bugs, so definitely being some repellent with you.
The Bunkie fit myself, my husband and my two young sons very comfortably. Everything is clean and quaint.
Highly recommend Joan's property if you're looking for a quiet getaway to reconnect to nature.

Joan’s hospitality was top tier! My partner and I stayed at the hideaway in the pines and we had an amazing time. We enjoyed the campfire and all the trails on her property. We even went fishing. We would definitely be going back

A beautiful piece of property! The forested area is stunning and more private than the road side camp sites. We were spoilt with the bird life, so many new birds to learn and we didn’t see or hear a single Redwing Black bird! The bbq/fire-pit and seating area were like new. And best of all were the hundreds of fireflies that sparkled in the country darkness!
