This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. You will have access to clean water to swim in (no soaps or detergents in the pond please, we also swim in the pond regularly so we might see you in there, the pond is about 40 meters from our house, no fishing in the pond), clean water to drink + wash dishes in, lots of safe flat parking for cars and camper vans, lots of safe flat grass for tents, a giant forest, views of a few beautiful horses doing their own thing on our pastures (do not feed them or go within the fenced off horse areas), loads of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and more! This is quite an honour, only 8 Newcomer Awards were given to the over 500,000 Hipcamp sites. Our 14 acre property is a quiet oasis on several biking trails (G2G, Cottonwood Road, Trans Canada Trail) and a very short drive to famous Elora (7 min) and St. Jacobs (20 min), access to several Grand River launch sites, many nearby hiking trails, and countless Mennonite farmers markets with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and preserves. There is really something for everyone around here. We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night. We have fire pits, picnic tables, Muskoka chairs and plenty of firewood. There is plenty of space for tents, and/or RVs. Check out the individual listings for more details about each site. We strive to give you a tranquil experience in a beautiful space where you can enjoy relaxing days close to nature, have space to play games, have a paddle around the pond, or seek out the many surrounding activities. A couple notes about the property: You may encounter property owners (that's us!) and our kids enjoying a walk with their friendly dogs unleashed, picking berries, playing a game or doing yard work near your site and around the property. Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin
The forest cabin was everything I’d hope for and more. I wanted a place to get away and reconnect with nature and that’s exactly what I got out of my stay. I went for hikes through the property, got to play with the sheep and the dogs! And like others have said in their reviews, by far the best outhouse I’ve ever soon! I would 100% recommend staying here! I’ll be back to check it out in the spring or summer!

She from her own told us its ok if you don't come over even on the day of the booking. This shows that she has some values. We will try and go over to her location anytime soon. It truly is a " Hidden Oasis " . I really appreciated the quick response back from Laura to my inquiries and too the suggestions she gave for things we could do in the area during our stay. The setting could not have been nicer with large mature trees, a pond you could walk around and large clearing to gaze the stars at night fall. Comments already made about the large fire pit & welcoming large compositing outhouse and paddle boat (s) by the pond edge. Our boating Cat was absolutely fascinated with the pond and racing around the large cedars. Lots of reviews nothing not one negative thing could be said!! Melanie & Ryan were fantastic hosts! They were kind, helpful, and incredibly responsive. The place is beautiful, and the lights make it magical and easy to navigate around at night. The yurt was gorgeous. My friend and I visited at the end of October, so it got very cold at night. However, the mattress heating pad worked wonders, and Melanie was incredibly kind to offer us additional bedding. Thank you for a great glamping experience!

Everdale is a special place! The straw cabin is simple, comfortable and so quiet! I felt safe as a person going there solo and walked their well loved and cared for land extensively. It was an education as well in that they have a regenerative farm. Being a long time gardener myself, it was interesting to read the sign posts on my walk explaining different aspects of regenerative farming and the lands ecology. I'll definitely come back and in the colder months, be sure you're comfortable keeping the woodstove going, you may need to split wood, etc. Also, being solar powered, if it's a cloudy day, the lights may go off early. I was glad I brought a battery operated lamp. Great place, great feeling there.!

This is a very private little slice of heaven that I've been pleased to steward for over 25 years. If you love the sound of frogs singing, and bullfrogs plucking their banjo strings, red-winged blackbirds trilling, you will love it here. The property is literally right across the road from the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park which boasts amazing trails, views and features the Niagara Escarpment. The 4-acre pond/wetland is designated 'Provincially Significant' by the Ministry of Natural Resources and is an important part of the Nottawasaga Watershed. This area is renowned for its terrain - the fields are rolling and the views are quite special. You will enjoy a private firepit and private overlook at the pond with hammock. The site isn't visible from the road. Our house is visible from the site but far enough away as to not disturb one another. We have a newly added outhouse with lighting that will make your stay comfortable.

We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.
