This property provides great access to a secluded level campsite surrounded by mature hardwoods and white pine, overlooking Fagan Lake. There is an outhouse and firepit on-site, with firewood included (please don't bring your own firewood). Supplied Adirondack and other lawn chairs will really make your campfires special! Pets on leash are welcome. Tents, camper trailers and RVs up to 20 feet are welcome. This is a level pull-in site.
There is a covered post-and-beam picnic shelter on site for rainy days. A supplied BBQ, a large kitchen prep table, and a small round dining table complete the "glamping" feel. There's always a full 18 litre jug of drinking water on site, although we recommend that you also bring your own water.
Access to a secluded lake which is about 2.5 km x 0.5 km in size, and connected to Bennett Lake by the Fall River. The lake is rugged and remote - only 8 cottages on the whole lake. Swimming off the dock, or paddle over to the jumping rocks across the lake. Bring your canoe or kayak and explore the lake and wetlands. Or bring your mountain bikes and enjoy the backroads. This property is in the heart of Lanark County, with all amenities within a 20-minute drive. Lots of hiking trails nearby, and a nice sand beach at Silver Lake Provincial park 10 minutes away. We're not far from Murphy's Point and Sharbot Lake PP as well.
If you like dark skies and quiet woods and going to bed listening to frogs and barred owls, or waking up with the woodland birds, this is the place. No artificial lights here, and you can see the Milky Way clearly on a dark night.

The trail "Easy Street" is definitely an easier descent and climb.

Situated just off the main road, The Ridge Retreat offers you the privacy and beauty of 6 unspoiled acres. Follow the gravel walkway/road down (5 min walk) to your amazing private dock situated on Howes Lake, Verona Ontario. Deep, clean water for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc. There are 2 firepits should you decide to have a campfire - one at the road site (RV and trailer) and one at the waters edge.
This property provides privacy and solitude for nature lovers. The designated RV parking spot is up near the main road along with a very nice outhouse but if you decide to tent camp, there are a few choices that would bring you closer to the water's edge. An additional outhouse is located at the top of the incline to the lake.
The gravel/asphalt trail down by the lake is the steeper of the 2 trails. Choose the "Easy Street" trail off to your right after you pass the stop sign indicating that no vehicles should drive beyond. This trail is a bit longer but a much more gradual incline.
Grocery shopping, nature trails, etc are just a few minutes away. The scenic town of Westport is a 30 min drive away with amazing shops and a local winery.

Situated in Myers Cave, Ontario famous for its stargazing opportunities. Your tent site overlooks two lakes, where you can see and hear rapids while enjoying the peaceful sounds of loons and nature by the fire pit.
There is a cabin on site however it is not for use, other than for sitting on the wraparound porch for a better view or to get shelter from the sun/rain.
Included in the price:
- access to the site (2 flat areas for smaller sized tents)
- firewood (please keep the fire controlled)
- canoe/paddles and two lifejackets for you to use
- ability to use the wraparound patio at the cabin to sit and get out of the sun/rain
A path down to the water makes it easier for you to get to the canoe (please leave the canoe and paddles as you found it, flipped over). Fishing and swimming are great closer to both sets of rapids. 2 lifejackets are kept in the outhouse if you don't bring your own.
Firewood is included so please do not cut trees! There is a pit toilet on-site for your convenience. There is also a small grill that is left by the fire pit for cooking with the fire.
Please note it is recommended that you have a 4X4 vehicle in order to access the site (maintain 20-30km/h going up the steep driveway). Take the driveway up two steep inclines and park at the dead end.

Literally the best experience. We camped in -30 temps and Jacob made sure we didn’t die 😁 all jokes aside, it was a very warm and welcoming environment. Lisa is a wonderful host — calm, friendly, and with great communication throughout our stay. Her hospitality and attention to comfort were amazing. She kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.
It was a bit cold during our visit since there’s no electricity in the caravan, but Lisa made sure we had enough warmers to stay cozy. The propane stove worked perfectly, and the kitchen was well-equipped for making coffee and tea.
We probably chose the wrong season — early fall or summer would be ideal — but the cold was still manageable for us. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful location, it’s as quiet as the description makes it out to be. The campsite area that was provided was well kept and tidy. Some of the amenities were not available due to the lateness of the season and were disclosed prior to arrival. It’s a pull-in site that I feel limits the overall length of vehicle and trailer to get brother location so I’d recommend you check with the host about that if you’ve got a larger rig and may need to coordinate things. I’m relatively new to backing in trailers and I got it parked without any damage (and no spotter). I didn’t have an opportunity to explore the land as much as I wanted, there’s so much to explore. Eric was very welcoming, and provided ample firewood.

We really enjoyed the campsite and the overall park was great. From the trails to the dog park, fishing dock, beach area, and clean amenities, the park was well maintained and easy to get around. The host, Monica is fabulous! She is incredibly welcoming and very guest focused - we loved our trip so much that we are likely getting a seasonal site to enjoy the park all season long! The park is very dog friendly, which was a bonus for us and our furry family member. Highly recommend the park for its super homey atmosphere and hidden gems when you're out for an adventure!

Monica is fantastic host. The campsite is clean. The yellow chalet is cute. Each cottage houses have there own personalities. They have the stuff you need for cooking and fire pit. Access to the water is good. Good for swimming boating and fishing. The hiking trails are marked.
Highlly recommended if you like nature away from city noises.

First of all, id like to thank Brian and Jen for welcoming us on to their land. This was a fantasfic experience. Brain ended up meeting us and welcoming us to his area. He then took all of our stuff to site with his side by side.
This spot was beautiful, set up extremly well and maintained and very quiet. We had a canoe to use, and although the water is shallow and weedy, a canoe here was a great time. We paddled and explored various islands.
Night time the stars we great although the moon was too bright for them to truly shine, we were able to see saturn and its rings using our telescope.
On our 4th and final day, brian and i had agreed on a time and he met us, using his side by side once again to cart our stuff back. He even helped us scour the site to make sure we didnt leave anything behind.
Overall, it was an acceptional stay and the hospitality and kindness of Brian made it a trip to remember.

The washrooms and showers were well taken care of and clean.
We spent some time on the lake Aswell. All and all it was a great place to camp at. We will be going back next year.

Excellent weekend getaway! Elisabeth's property is quiet and private. She's always available if you need anything extra, even suggesting nearby places or plans.
There are also plenty of deer, very beautiful. We'll be back again.

🌲 I had a really great time at this lakeside campground. The spots for tents are spacious and nicely kept — you bring your own tent, which I actually prefer. There are fire pits and BBQ areas that make evenings by the fire feel cozy and memorable. Monika, the host, is super kind and always ready to help with anything, which made the stay even better. It’s a peaceful, welcoming place where you can truly relax and enjoy nature.

We had a great time at The Ridge Retreat! The campsite is beautiful, well-maintained, and the views are amazing. The fire pits were perfect, and we really appreciated how easy it was to set up camp near the road at the top of the hill. That spot is very convenient for loading and unloading gear, though being close to the road does mean you’ll occasionally hear passing cars and nearby dogs. Next time, we’d probably choose a spot closer to the water for more privacy and atmosphere.
The trail leading down to the water and lower campsites is long with steep inclines, so be prepared for a bit of a trek. We brought a wagon, which made transporting our things manageable—without it, carrying everything would’ve been tough. The dock and water setup are absolutely gorgeous. We spent most of our days down there soaking in the views, and our dog had the best time playing by the water. We didn’t swim ourselves, and while we didn’t catch any fish, just being by the water was incredibly relaxing.
The host was wonderful—very friendly, accommodating of our late arrival, and made sure we had plenty of firewood. Overall, we’d definitely recommend The Ridge Retreat to anyone looking for a scenic, peaceful camping experience with a balance of convenience and adventure.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely experience camping on Elizabeth’s land. She was lovely and provided us with everything we could need, a couple possible tent sites and had stunning views of the fall colours. What an amazing property! The site was exactly as described. We needed for nothing. Victor brought by brand new camp chairs for us and sweetly asked, "Can I come in?" when he arrived at the site with them. We loved the trails. We spotted a porcupine, a deer, an owl, heard raccoons, beavers and countless frogs and birds. We will be returning!

About
Campers choose this compact park in Eastern Ontario for its quiet waterfront setting along nine-kilometre-long Silver Lake, set between Toronto and Ottawa, 85 kilometres north of Kingston. The park has a boat launch, a playground, and two sandy beaches along the lake, which is also a good spot for canoeing or kayaking. While the park is too small for much hiking, you can fish for yellow perch, smallmouth bass, lake trout, and northern pike. Silver Lake’s three campgrounds have a total of 100 campsites, accommodating tents and RVs, plus a comfort station with flush toilets and showers.

- Best for barrier-free camping: Dawson Campground
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Reservations for campsites at Silver Lake Provincial Park are available up to five months in advance. Book online through the Ontario Parks reservation service.
- The waterfront sites in the Algonquin and Dawson campgrounds book first, so be ready to reserve these sites as soon as they become available.
When to go
Silver Lake Provincial Park is open only from mid-May through mid-September. July and August are the busiest months, although the park stays active into September as the trees begin to take on their fall colors. Come on weekdays to avoid the weekend crowds.
Know before you go
- You can buy firewood and ice in the Silver Lake park store and pick up basic supplies in the village of Sharbot Lake outside the park. Otherwise, the town of Perth, 30 kilometres east of the park, is your best bet for shopping.
- The park rents canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards for paddling along Silver Lake.
- Silver Lake is located in one of Ontario’s main maple syrup-producing regions. While the March-April sugaring season, when the trees are “tapped” for their sap, takes place outside of the best camping months, you can find local syrup year-round—perfect for pancakes around the campfire.
