Bobs Lake is a lake in Frontenac County and Lanark County in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is in the St. Lawrence River drainage basin and is the source of the Tay River. Learn more about this land: Relax under the peaceful lush canopy and let your worries melt away as you look over beautiful Bob's Lake. The frogs are especially active in the evenings at dusk. Site features include: picnic table, firepit, food prep table, cooking grate, tent pad, outhouse, small dock.  We do have some firewood available (3 bundles) on site for sale on the honor system.  60 minutes from Kingston,  2 hours from Ottawa,  3 hours from Toronto Need groceries? There is a grocery store @20 minutes North in Sharbot Lake as well as further South in Verona. In addition to gigantic Bob’s Lake, we are also close to Crow Lake, Long Lake, Eagle Lake and Sharbot Lake. Wonderful private camping spot and great hosts. Had 3 beautiful deer come for a visit on our 2 day camping trip,a very clean and peaceful spot, highly recommend to visit here.

I loved this land. It was a paradise in so many ways. Right along the water, private space in a beautiful community of cottage countryside. We were impressed by the caring touches of our host like wood delivery on site when we arrived, great communication when needing advice and directions, and useful equipment like Muskoka chairs, butchers block and cylinder table. Lots of shade was essential for us, and we got exactly what we wanted and needed! Such a peaceful, serene atmosphere. Thanks Jen!!! We will be back for sure.

We came looking for a peaceful and private campsite and that’s what we got. Beautiful plot overlooking the lake. The way down to the water is quite steep as others have mentioned but there are ropes and other stuff to help you down. Very scenic, would come back for sure.

Shady Grove!
This is a lovely spot overlooking the water (very steep water access not for the faint of heart; mostly lily pads, no open water). We enjoyed two quiet nights and a very relaxing day. It’s a nice getaway with a fire ring and some wood furniture and picnic table. There was room for our tiny teardrop trailer, but no space to turn around.

We really enjoyed our stay, there were other cottages/sites nearby but it was really private and quiet! We loved having water access to go out on our paddle boards. The site has two chairs and a bench around the fire and a picnic table so we didn’t need to pack extra things. I would stay here again.

The spot was amazing ! The little view on the lake is very cute and there’s everything that we needed for camp ! The owner was super helpful whenever we needed him. Very fast to respond and very supportive on any questions you may have. I recommend it ! We really had a nice time there.

An adventurous time at Shady Grove!

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Shadygrove and enjoyed some fall camping. The hosts were super friendly and communicated details of our arrival efficiently. The site was clean, spacious and had everything we needed including firewood for purchase which was great! The view of the water was pretty and we spent some time sitting on the dock in the afternoon sun. The area was fun to explore on our bikes as well. A coyote did visit the campsite when it smelled our dinner cooking and was slightly aggressive circling the site but we managed to scare it off by banging on a pot with a spoon. He did not return the next night. We hope to come back and enjoy another stay at Shady Grove!

What a great little spot! Such an excellent location for a weekend camping trip. Communication with the owners was great and easy. Highly recommend this spot!

Secluded but close!

Loved the site, it was beautiful and there was lots of wildlife! We were investigated by some deer and a racoon that bunks close by. (You can see him sleeping on top of a nearby tree). The site was easy to find and a short drive to both Perth and Westport if you want to spend some time in a cute town. Would certainly stay again!

Hosts were wonderful to deal with and the property was great as well! Easily accessible by car and not too far from nearby towns but still felt very private. The only thing I would warn someone about is how steep a slope it is to get to the water. My boyfriend and I are both in our 20's and quite physically active but even still, we found it very challenging to get to and from the water - especially if you have something that you're carrying in your hands, it becomes very hard to scramble up the slope. If you're in good shape and up for a bit of a challenge, then it shouldn't be a huge issue.

Perfect mix of sun and shade - site was perfect for our weekend get-away. Option to buy firewood on site was great as we burned through what we brought on the first night. We also enjoyed being able to use the canoe for a beautiful trip up Bob's Lake!

Nice Peaceful Campsite
Shady Grove!
Site was level with good privacy and easy access. Host was really nice providing good instructions. Was using a rooftop tent with lots of space around to setup. Toilet (thunderbox setup) was clean with a simple structure to shelter from rain. Lots of pleasant sounds from nature like birds, frogs, insects, etc. Although a canoe was available on a dock, descent down to the dock was steep and perhaps due to the season, water level was too low to launch the canoe without getting stuck (difficult to get water from the lake for any filtering/washing as well due to water level).

Shady Grove!
I had a really peaceful and relaxing weekend here. Got to see lots of wildlife and enjoyed the seclusion. At night all you can hear are frogs and the occasional sound of coyotes in the distance. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this site for anyone looking for some tranquility.

Shady Grove!
Even though the site is somewhat near the road, you cannot be seen!! I mean, apart from the birds, squirrels and raccoons (which were kind enough to pay us a visit!). Oh! And the deer that was so at ease, she defecated in front of us. I found the (quiet) road nearby to be a bonus; if anything happens, at least we'd be able to get help pretty quickly. The site is overlooking what seemed like a bay, which was great but not fit for swimming as it's very weedy. The hosts were friendly and great to communicate with! We had an awesome weekend.
