This simple, clean, dry, and neat bunkie is comfortable and has a history of providing fantastic sleeping conditions with guests saying they had their best sleep in it. There are windows at the front and back providing a cross-breeze, assisted by a fan. The bunkie has electricity and lighting and can be used as a workspace.
This location is ideal for paddlers, swimmers, hikers, artists, writers, and those interested in the additional comforts of a cabin rather than tent camping.

PLEASE NOTE:
There are no outhouses/washrooms on the property, you must be self contained.
Site 1 is in our opinion the best site but not the easiest to get in with a larger rig but have had a 43 ft unit in there.
Site 2 is fairly level and grass area. Back in only.
Site 3 is fairly level and grass area. Back in only.
Site 4 is also fairly level and grass. It is pull through and offers a view of the lake.
There is plenty of room to park tow or pull vehicle.
Should one need there are leveling blocks available to use located to the right of site 2.
The sites now have numbers either on the power posts or the panel box for ease of locating your spot.
NOTE for 2025 water is not available at the sites as new lines are being installed. Water to fill your tank is available at our house. At present three of the sites have water feed from our home with potable water via garden hose. You may need to connect your hose to the supply line to reach your unit. When weather permits, early spring and late fall may not be available.

Several lakes and parks are nearby, including Mikisew Provincial Park on Eagle Lake, about 20 km south, where you can go boating, paddling, or swimming and Algonquin Provincial Park is close as well with many lakes and hiking trails. Some restaurants and stores can be found in the South River, about 20 km away.

There is a private swimmable beach and a spacious dock with one available boat slip. The property includes 500 feet of waterfront and is about 2 acres in total. There is plenty of room for parking. The driveway is steep and curved and just requires being cautious.
If you prefer power boats and seadoos these can be rented at a nearby marina.
This simple, clean, dry, and neat bunkie is comfortable and has a history of providing fantastic sleeping conditions with guests saying they had their best sleep in it. There are windows at the front and back providing a cross-breeze, assisted by a fan. The bunkie has electricity and lighting and can be used as a workspace.
This location is ideal for paddlers, swimmers, hikers, artists, writers, and those interested in the additional comforts of a cabin rather than tent camping.
There is a large deck, bbq, fire pit, Muskoka chairs, and outdoor eating area that can be shared with the host. Confirm details with host.

PLEASE NOTE:
There are no outhouses/washrooms on the property, you must be self contained.
Site 1 is in our opinion the best site but not the easiest to get in with a larger rig but have had a 43 ft unit in there.
Site 2 is fairly level and grass area. Back in only.

Site 4 is also fairly level and grass. It is pull through and offers a view of the lake.
There is plenty of room to park tow or pull vehicle.
Should one need there are leveling blocks available to use located to the right of site 2.

NOTE for 2025 water is not available at the sites as new lines are being installed. Water to fill your tank is available at our house. At present three of the sites have water feed from our home with potable water via garden hose. You may need to connect your hose to the supply line to reach your unit. When weather permits, early spring and late fall may not be available.

Our remote off grid property in the forest east of Eagle Lake is a great place to disconnect and decompress. The roadside Bunkie sleeps 2 comfortably and can accommodate a RV trailer or tent as well. Pets are welcome.
The property has a pit toilet, and campfires are allowed in the designated pit. There is also potable water in the bin with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area. In the winter water would have to be stored inside. Linen not provided.
You’ll wake up surrounded by trees and can explore the great hiking, nature viewing, atv trails and boating in the summer months. In the winter enjoy glaming in the propane heated bunkie, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow machine trails at the door. Wildlife is all around. Several lakes and parks are nearby, including Mikisew Provincial Park on Eagle Lake, about 20 km south, where you can go boating, paddling, or swimming and Algonquin Provincial Park is close as well with many lakes and hiking trails. Some restaurants and stores can be found in the South River, about 20 km away.

What a beautiful land- truly grateful for the opportunity to stay at Big Rock Eco Resort. Thank you to Jason and Susie for being wonderful hosts. The Cabin itself was beautiful and has more than enough amenities to enjoy a stay comfortably. Directions were clear and easily understood. The experience was very peaceful and enjoyable, literally so quiet out there. Lots of trails to explore and we were able to skate on the lake and the hot tub was a big bonus. A big thank you to Rocky and Jason, who helped my guarded dog socialize so he could enjoy some play with a pup friend! We all had an amazing time, will be returning in the near future!

We stayed at the Hemlock Grove site with 7 people, 3 cars and had plenty of room! We had 2 hammocks and 3 tents, this site is great for hammocking. Brent was very accommodating and provided all the information we needed. Unfortunately we got hit with some bad weather, but I would recommend Tryfan Forest to anyone looking to enjoy a quiet weekend on a beautiful piece of land.

I’m truly glad I discovered this place. My friends and I found so much more than we expected. The Mitziville team was incredibly welcoming and accommodating — thanks to them, I was able to organize a surprise birthday celebration for my husband and bring together our big group of friends.
We were absolutely thrilled with our spot: a spacious area with several fire pits, a provided toilet, and picnic tables. It felt private and peaceful since the nearby sites were set far apart. It’s one of those rare moments when you stumble upon a hidden gem. The nature was stunning, and the grounds were beautifully maintained.
We’ll definitely be back — our group has been looking for a place like this for a long time

Compared to most campground sites this is a nice private spot. The quiet river makes a beautiful view and I appreciated the free kayak available with the site. Check in was easy and friendly. There is a public area beside the site which meant there are occasionally people near by but it wasn’t a problem. At other times it was very quiet.

What a wonderful time away where it felt that time stood still in the midst of falling leaves and glorious rays of sunshine. Jason and Susie ensured to meet all needs with prompt responses and, when needed, support. We enjoyed viewing the property, a peaceful boat ride and, of course, the accommodations. We didn't want to leave. A true bucket filling experience where we left feeling relaxed and grateful. Only regret is not booking an extra day.

Loved the outhouse, we are used to privies at Algonquin but the outhouse was way better - especially with the rain we had. The site was absolutely breathtaking! The view was so incredible, the site itself was perfectly maintained and carved out amongst their beautiful property. Hearing the splashing waves from the lake with all the other natural sounds was so relaxing. Our host was extremely helpful and friendly, and they made sure we had everything we needed including firewood before they left us to our privacy! We drove almost 3 hours from our home to stay here for 1 night and it was so so worth it, we really hope we can come stay again some time. We can’t get over the beautiful and private space we were able to enjoy!

This was one of our favourite Hipcamps. The lake was busier than we are used to but it was a long weekend so totally expected. We appreciated the private feel of the campsite being nestled in our little corner and we customized the site with tarp shelters and a hammock to lay about in the afternoons. The night sky was gorgeous with the moon and the sound of waves to keep us company. One should keep in mind that there are elevation changes at the site that could prove challenging for some. I was able to portage our canoe down to the water and back up to our vehicle but the pitch through the trees and down to the beach could prove tricky. Overall, we liked the secluded, civilized-rustic feel of the space: not Crown Land but sounds of the forest gave it a wild feel.

The Love Shack was super cozy and the hosts, Marilyn and Jim, were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Love Shack had everything we could possibly need, pretty much all we needed to do was pack our clothes and food.
Upon arrival, we met with Marilyn and her fuzzy little friend, Maggie (she’s such a playful cutie). Marilyn shared with us some vegetables from her beautiful garden and also had a fireplace put it in for our stay (which we were extremely grateful for) as the place was getting a bit chillier now. And Jim lit us a lovely fire to enjoy in the night so we can keep warm while enjoying the quiet under the stars. Overall, the entire stay from beginning to end was amazing and we would absolutely be going again!

Nice large sites, Rechelle and son RJ did their best to ensure it was clean and were helpful. I would recommend to a friend or family member, and would like to return. Only downfall is no electricity hookups so it will be a good idea to bring an inverter for anything you need powered.
