Booked for 2 nights, but left after one for Algonquin. At least it's only 20 bucks to lose.
Campsite itself is pretty good, for the price. It didn't matter as we were the only ones there, but it seems like the path runs directly through the campsites. It's first come first serve for campsite location, so if booking isn't full you can at least spread out.
The reason we left was that it was SO loud. I guess it's because they're doing construction, but they started blasting music at ~7am on Sunday morning. You can hear everything from the house, so kids screaming until pitch darkness, music, etc very loudly. It was labour day weekend which means fireworks, so idk if this is the case all the time, but there seems to be a hundred dogs in the neighbourhood barking all night. One stars barking and it sets them all off, and you can't even distinguish individual dogs anymore, it's just a roaring noise. You can also really hear the road. I am sure this is on par for trailer park campsites, but I they make you do an 'about you' writeup before booking and the literal only thing I wrote is that we want a quiet getaway.
Parking is a nightmare, even as the only car there - they ask you not to go past a certain point, so you have very little room. You're stuck doing a 7 point turn to turn around, except it's like a minefield of loose garbage, kids toys, kids bikes, a watermelon? etc and the tiniest unleashed dog. It's like they want you to crunch something (we didn't).

It's quiet when there's no other campers. It's cheap. The path could be maintained better. The steep drop combined with the thorny raspberry plants combine to form a moat that is not the most welcoming. My site came with a hammock but it was unusuable as it was quite moldy. I felt safe leaving my camping equipment on this site as I was spending the days away.

Great site! The warnings and rules were very straightforward and reasonable. Lovely property with a very friendly family and lovely dog and chickens walking around. The signage could use a bit of an update since the paper has been destroyed over time but the paths are clearly walked on so it was clear to follow. My only concern would be if the plants and bushes on the embankment could be trimmed back a bit so we don't have to bush whack the first bit into the trail that would be great. I was a tad worried about ticks the first few feet into the trail to the sites because the plants had grown so much. Otherwise the site was private and had a nice fire pit and bench available. Loved my stay! Very close to many provincial parks so we had a lot to do in the area.

I was disappointed to realize only upon arrival the camp sites are not accessible by vehicle, especially as I was camping out of my vehicle and would have had to park out in the open sun close to the road since the campsite is not accessible by car.
The pathway to the campsites that us required to walk down is long enough I wouldn't have been able to carry all my gear solo.
The host did not reply to my message about not being able to camp there because of this and also ignored my attempt at a refund and even if no refund was given I asked to still get a tour of the earthship, to which there was no reply. Very disappointed about the lack of clear description about the campsite not being accessible by vehicle at all and no response after the booking was made.

No where to park, saw no firepit and the area was disgusting. Almost hit the chickens running loose. Definitely would not recommend it. Looked like a dumping ground.

Thank you Solataire for the wonderful experience my boyfriend and I had staying at your property.
The campsites are beautiful, clean, and surrounded by trees. I felt safe and comfortable camping here. I’d love to visit again.
There’s lots of trails nearby and the property itself is located on a scenic road.
It was so inspiring to see the earthship. I didn’t go near it, but I could see it from the driveway and it was so cool!
Also, I appreciate that parking was available and it was so close to the campsite.

The sites are under developed but wood was readily available and Solataire provided for me, I was on a bicycle tour. It was ok for me. I would recommend it for someone who likes a simple environment.

This was beautiful land with cute sites. I would absolutely recommend staying here, and we will absolutely be back. I highly recommend visiting the waterfall at Eagen Chutes Provincial Park; it's a magic spot.

Overall it was fine for the price. With 6 sites available we were lucky to be the only ones there as there isnt any privacy between sites and without washrooms this would have been an issue. The trail down from the parking lot was quit steep and difficult to carry equiment up and down. It was muddy as it had rained causing it to be very slippery.No fire wood provided and the fire ban was difficult to make food becuase you could only burn after 7 pm. but it was the perfect location incase you needed to go into town and there are lots of things to do around the area.

I car camped at Solataire's. She was a great host and told me about the local attractions, hiking trails, water falls etc. I enjoyed helping out around the property and Solataire was fun to work with. I would definitely stay again.

Me and my family of 7 decided to try out Solataires land for our first camping adventure. Below I will give my opinion on my pros and cons of this land.
Pros:
-Super easy instructions on how to get to your camp site.
-Beautiful land
-Nice and secluded
-Got to hear the wolves/coyotes.
-got to see wildlife(deer) right on the bath
-Super friendly
-Nice and close to bancroft incase you forgot something or wanted to do some sight seeing.
-Very affordable.
Cons
-A little difficult to know the entrance of the property. Bigger or more signage before the location would be good.
-if your on campsite one others would have to go through your campsite to get to the other campsite
-pretty steep hill to get all of your items down to your site.
-Sites could be a little more level for tents and gear.
This place all in all is awesome. We are very happy with the stay we had, my wife and kids loved their stay and my kids wanted to stay a few more nights. We would definitely come back again. Had a lot of fun.

Solitarie’s campsite was awesome for my boyfriend our dog and myself. We had the entire area to ourselves which really made it feel like back country camping.
Very easy directions to get to the campsites. You park your car and walk to your site. I love that concept really felt like going into the wilderness. Wildlife at night really does comes alive. Heard the wolves in the distance as we went to bed. Awesome experience.
Also the tire home in progress is super cool to see !

Solitaire was a wonderful host who has woods a ways from her home. We didn't hear them at all. She has kids my kids age and they were able to play together a few times over our 3 day stay.
Pros- would be amazing to rent 3 sites in a row with friends
-amazing swimming just the next rd over
-great hiking and swimming everywhere around. A old road/rail trail is just a few properties down the road.
-super cool earthship
-great vibe
-price point bang on
-she's great about trying to monitor who is coming so everyone has a good time
Cons- I think I got the fattest site of them all. Be beneficial to bring a shovel next time and further level.
-the circle trail connecting the sites goes directly through the middle of your site so if you like privacy, don't stay here.
-not much space between the sites. 6 sites and its pretty crammed.
-though advertised no washrooms, since each site is so close to the next it's a bit of a challenge to do your busniess. Luckily bancroft isn't far.
-there is a very steep short hill from the parking area down to the trail. We had no probs with it but if it was rainy, it would suck big time.
Overall, I would stay here again. For the price it's for sure worth it.

We had a great few days at Solataire’s campsite #3!
Prior to our arrival Solataire answered all of my questions which was very appreciated by myself and fellow campers!
We really liked our campsite it was very spacious for two tents! I would definitely recommend due to the campsite but also the friendliness of the host prior to our stay!

We spent 2 days in one of the camping sites available. We greatly enjoyed our time there: we cooked, prepared a small campfire and the peaceful location. During the day, we had the chance of checking nearby locations such as Algonquin Park and some of the villages close by.
I would definitely recommend visiting this camping site and I am looking forward of going again!

Solitaire and her friends and family are building something special in the beautiful woods near Bancroft. I look forward to returning over the coming years and checking in on their progress. This location is very close to the Hastings Heritage Trail. If you're an adventure biker this is a great place to camp. Keep in mind, that there are no toilet or outhouse facilities (you'll need to practice proper dig and cover procedures if you plan to poop). If you use a hammock for camping there are trees that are reasonably well placed but not that many.

We loved our stay. Was my son's first camping trip, sites layed out very well with lots to see. Well marked trail and easy to find spots. Had a great visit and close to a few hiking trails and items to do. We are planning another trip for sure.

Solitare's land is 10 minutes out of Bancroft and the perfect distance away from town and is nice and quiet. We had a ridiculously large tent we had to borrow and Campsite 3 was nice and spacious for us. A good place to lay your head at night and enjoy the local attractions. We took some of her suggestions and went to Egan Chutes Provincial Park and Eagle's Nest Look Out which were both excellent places to hike and enjoy the view.

Solitaires site was the perfect spot for a few nights of tent camping! The sites are small, located in a densely wooded area and feel as tho you have ventured far into the forest tho you are just moments from the road. Parking and trails are clearly marked and walking to the site from the parking area is a breeze. The directions that are provided as well as the handwritten notes/instructions throughout the property were clear and allowed us to enjoy the space easily. This is a Great spot for those who want to escape into nature :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Solataire’s campsite. The campsite was very clean and easy to find. It was a beautiful open patch surrounded by a tall forest which provided good privacy. Solataire was very helpful and quick to reply to my messages prior to our stay. She answered all my questions and gave detailed instructions on how to find the site. She also let me know if there were other campers there prior to our arrival, and offered a double site at no extra cost when the larger site was booked. Checkin was incredibly easy as all we had to do was walk to our site once we got there, which was a close walk from the car. The location is very convenient, all of the major attractions in the area were no more than a 10 minute drive away. Definitely would come here again! The campsite and Bancroft were both beautiful places to stay for the weekend:)
