Welcome and thank you for your interest in Forest Time Retreat. We offer an ideal location for those seeking a peaceful and nature based get-away. Stay in a Rustic Bunkie situated a distance from the road surrounded by trees and walking trails over 60 acres. The bunkie features a queen mattress, 4 windows and if desired, the mattress can be rolled up to accommodate a centre table for card playing. There is no hydro, indoor water or heat in the bunkie. If you need to charge your cell phone, consider having a portable solar phone charger or a portable power bank as there is NO hydro on the property.

Outdoor amenities include: propane barbeque, firepit, countertop for food prep, cast iron frying pan and pot, plates, bowls, mugs, and flatware. A sink is on site for dishwashing and hygiene using non-potable water which we provide. A pit outhouse is available; sorry, no shower yet. Bring your own linens, pillows, sleeping bag and water for drinking. Since you'll be in a nature environment, bug spray is a good idea. Be mindful of identifying poison ivy too. Due to invasive insects, please do not bring firewood - we have firewood on site.
The grounds are an excellent location for walking, photography, writing, drawing, painting, forest bathing, meditation or just to chillax.
For those looking for local attractions: Westben Theatre, Launch your fishing boat or kayak at Trent River Monument (9 km from site), Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Seymour Conservation Area (with a quarry for swimming), Dooher's Bakery, Empire Cheese, Church-Key Brewing, Fogorig Brewing and several food and restaurant establishments are available in Campbellford area. If you forgot to pack something, Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Stedman's, Sharpe's or No Frills may offer what you need. Only 13 km to Campbellford or 12 km to Havelock.

1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is a compostable toilet in an outhouse on the property for the bunkie.
Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing.
This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Some finds are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. Although the cabin is insulated, and there is a small realistic looking electric heater...in the cooler months it only takes off the chill. You'll want to pack warmer clothing for the cooler nights.
You'll find a lovely outdoor stone firepit with a grill to enjoy cozy campfires or to cook on. The site is provided with a picnic table/umbrella, rustic outdoor furniture, and a clean, simple outhouse, also a small outdoor kitchen and hand washing area.

Your campsite is high and dry, easy to access by car and has ample parking.
The terrain is pink granite with soft spots for a tent or solid ground to park your trailer (sorry no hook ups or liquid waste removal). There's a picnic table, firewood and private toilet included. Whether you prefer to be in sun or shade, both are available at this site. As much as we are sheltered from the County road, traffic can be heard at times.

Jump on your favourite floatie and float your troubles away down the lazy river located just a short walk across the road at Kawartha Highlands Signature Park. If kayaking and canoeing are more your thing, you will be in awe of the beautiful scenery as you paddle along. This breathtaking park also offers self-guided tours of its history and landscape.
Three Pines Retreat is surrounded by lakes and trails and is only 3 km from the picturesque town of Buckhorn. Forget something or feel like dining out? Buckhorn hosts an LCBO, grocery stores and restaurants overlooking the locks. Pizza Alloro will lure you in for a delectable slice and Main St. Bar and Grill offers delicious fare and live entertainment. If you know anything about Kawartha Dairy ice cream you will be sure to stop at Buckhorn Ice Cream Parlour for a tasty treat.
Three Pines is just a 2 minute drive to Kawartha Winery and Belly's restaurant. The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river.
Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area.
All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals.
There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!!
PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices.
***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this.
We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests.
This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience.
Historical Significance of the property
When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place.
It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 80 acres 8 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply turn into our driveway and drive right past our house following the dirt path. Turn left just down the hill to the River.
We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters.
Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch .
We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy .
We have a complementary canoe, 2 adult kayak, 2 adult SUP and 1 child’s kayaks . Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks.
1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies.
The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 24 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more.
A small fishing boat about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road .
If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. We are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point or any jugs you may have.
Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a water filling station and dumping station there for a small fee from the park.
Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the Empire Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory all within 10 minutes from our house . We also have local Breweries in the area, one being about 8 minutes away called the Fogorig Brewing.
Campbellford is full of little shops and stores.
It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen.
We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message.
Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival but we can ensure that we will always have someone by phone for you to reach if need be at all times.

In over 20 years of experience on the lake, we've seen no bears. It's a cosy three-room place with a small bedroom (8x12) with an antique double bed; a main room (16 x12) with a single bed; and a kitchen (8X12). Sleeps 3, max.
Access to the cottage is up a short set of irregular stone stairs from the lake. This could be an impediment for elderly or frail people. The lake is not a private lake. There are other cottages. But it's a very quiet lake and often there's no one else there.
The landscape is very similar to Algonquin Park's. North Kawartha is famous as the birthplace of the canoe. This is a thinly-populated landscape of rugged granite bluffs, thickly-forested hills and valleys, and gorgeous lakes that remain quiet and peaceful even during the hottest summer weeks.
This place was made by and for lovers, artists, poets, musicians, dreamers, writers, environmentalists, ecologists, escapists...and their children.

3 nights at Riverbend
Our second stay was even better than the first! This is such a beautiful property and a wonderful place to get away for a few days. We had the best time enjoying the outdoors, the river, wildlife, and beautiful views. We spent lots of time relaxing outside, playing games, reading, and listening to music. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature without feeling like you need to go anywhere or do anything.
The location is great too! We took a trip to a nearby conservation area for a hike one day and enjoyed a round of golf at a nearby 12-hole course. There’s plenty to explore in the area, but honestly, just spending time at the property is one of the best parts. We really enjoyed our weekend and would happily come back for a third visit!

I’ve left reviews on here before, but after our 4th visit, it’s time to leave a quick one again. Let’s just say I love this place. Sweet cabin on a massive property with all the sweet spots you need for a few days of decompression. I always bring my sausage dog Frankie and he never wants to leave what seems to be limitless walks in the woods. Every good thing people on these reviews say is spot on and then some.

Had a really great time. Pamela was a great host, the site details don’t lie. It’s a cozy little spot.
(If you don’t have a 4x4 you will have a little bit of a walk to the site, not an issue, just fyi if you use your vehicle as storage when you camp.) Couldn’t have asked for better weather!

We had such an amazing time at Grayotter cabin! A perfect week away. Everything was beautiful from the cabin itself to the surrounding nature. So many areas to explore and enjoy. We had a fantastic time and would love to go back again. We saw so many different birds, mushrooms on the trails, some fish and had an otter sighting! This place is a must for anyone wanting a peaceful vacation!

It is an amazing spot! Beautiful spot to swim, listen to the loons, amazing sunset views. And the cabin is crazy fun game if eye spy with so many things to see - and books! We had a great stay. You do need to be fairly agile as the steps are uneven and some are pretty high. But the set up is great with enough kitchen tools too host a chef.

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat
I had a great stay! The property was very private with a large lot, which made it feel peaceful and secluded. The tent was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious, with a raised bed that made sleeping much more comfortable.
The site also had everything needed for a convenient stay, including cookware, a grill, fire pit, shower, and outhouse. Overall, it was a relaxing and comfortable experience, and I’d definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Limerick Lake Camping
It was a lovely boathouse. It was clean on the inside and we absolutely had no complaints about the inside of the cabin/boathouse/bunkie. It was a tad bit dark on the outside leading up to the entrance. It would have been nice to see some solar lights (I am also visually impaired), so it makes it harder for me to see going up any steps at night. Also, be prepared for mice and or rats that are inside the cabin and eating their way in the walls. The digging in the walls drove us crazy the first night and a mouse ran across our pillows. It was funny as we both shot up, yet my service dog slept through the commotion. We had a great time hiking and checking out waterfalls in the day, as my partner is a photographer. We stayed over the labour day weekend for three nights. Our host had every thing ready for us for our arrival. We would definitely return.
