Our second stay was even better than the first! This is such a beautiful property and a wonderful place to get away for a few days. We had the best time enjoying the outdoors, the river, wildlife, and beautiful views. We spent lots of time relaxing outside, playing games, reading, and listening to music. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature without feeling like you need to go anywhere or do anything.
The location is great too! We took a trip to a nearby conservation area for a hike one day and enjoyed a round of golf at a nearby 12-hole course. There’s plenty to explore in the area, but honestly, just spending time at the property is one of the best parts. We really enjoyed our weekend and would happily come back for a third visit!

Can’t wait to go back
I’ve left reviews on here before, but after our 4th visit, it’s time to leave a quick one again. Let’s just say I love this place. Sweet cabin on a massive property with all the sweet spots you need for a few days of decompression. I always bring my sausage dog Frankie and he never wants to leave what seems to be limitless walks in the woods. Every good thing people on these reviews say is spot on and then some.
Last thing to Katrina & Graham - I’ll just say this…”Thank you for being the best hosts”.

Beautiful peaceful cabin

We had such an amazing time at Grayotter cabin! A perfect week away. Everything was beautiful from the cabin itself to the surrounding nature. So many areas to explore and enjoy. We had a fantastic time and would love to go back again. We saw so many different birds, mushrooms on the trails, some fish and had an otter sighting! This place is a must for anyone wanting a peaceful vacation!

We enjoyed our time at Graham and Katrina's property. It was exactly as advertised, a private and quiet retreat. Directions were straight forward The cabin was perfect with everything we needed to cook and make our stay comfortable. The propane stove was nice to cook on indoors as we had some rainy days. All and all we loved our stay. If your looking for peace and quiet and a recharge this is the place to stay. Thank you Graham and Katrina for sharing your little slice of Heaven.

Our third stay at this wonderful little cabin, and Mother Nature has given us a different experience every time! Last year brought a fire ban and a quiet riverbed, while New Year’s gave us all her winter charms—sun, snow, ice storms and even a blizzard.
This time the river was running, and oh, the sound of it—during the day and as we fell asleep at night. We had cozy rainy days, beautiful sunny ones, and one new addition…the mosquitoes! They were very determined to become our best friends and join every outdoor activity. Thankfully, a good fire helped establish some much-needed boundaries!
We celebrated our anniversary here, and once again it was the perfect place to step away from the pressures of everyday life, slow down, reconnect with each other and remember what really matters.
Three visits, three completely different experiences, and wonderful memories from each. We’ll be back!

Summer visit
Always a great time at Riverbend! This was my first time visiting in the summer, and it was really nice to be able to swim in the river! If you plan on walking up and down the river, I would recommend water shoes.
Will definitely be back and 10/10 would recommend!

What a magical, back-to-nature escape! We had an incredible stay in the cozy bunkie, but spent some evenings sleeping out in the gazebo. The property is surrounded by gentle rapids, and so many dragonflies. Watching a blue heron along the water was such a special highlight. Best of all, our dog had an absolute blast running off-leash with so much room to explore and safely jump into the stream. If you’re looking to truly unwind and reconnect with nature, this spot is an absolute gem. Katrina and Graham are such awesome hosts - we will definitely be back

I had my first solo stay but definitely not my last. What a beautiful spot and so private. I absolutely re-charged & revelled in the solitude (something I really crave on occasion). The sound of the rapids is so soothing it's practically meditative. It's as described only better.

This was our second stay at Gray Otter Cabins, and we had such an amazing time again! We absolutely love this place. The dogs had the BEST time swimming and could have stayed in the water forever! We love the town, the beautiful surroundings, and especially the complete seclusion and privacy. It’s the perfect place to get away from everything, relax, and enjoy some quality time together.
We already can’t wait to come back for our third stay when we’re able to! 🥰 We seriously can’t recommend Gray Otter Cabins enough!

Unwind, unplug and enjoy

We had an amazing few days away to unplug and be one with nature. The property is full of lush green and through the trees is water. There are rapids to the right of you with trails moving through the forest. No cell service which is exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was in the perfect spot. Against the trees and the windows had the best breeze! The hosts are very attentive and aware of what is needed for a few days away. If you are looking to unwind, swim, enjoy Mother Nature this is the place to do it in. We have started a new tradition and will be back again. We were also happy that our Golden had free roam and she was not impressed when we left!

July we
My family and I had an amazing time. The place is straight out of a movie; gorgeous scenery and setting. We saw a beaver, turtles and we caught lots of fish right off the dock. We had a big fire and even when it was raining we were able to enjoy the fire from the little sun room. We enjoyed swimming and the fireflies we caught at night. We loved the off grid aspect but still had service if needed. We slept in later then normal and enjoyed coffee while the dog splashed in the water. We will be returning, it was worth a trip from Hamilton.

From the moment we arrived we knew we booked the right place! Katrina and Grahams private oasis was far more than we could have expected. The cabin was equipped with all sorts of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. The inside stove was a true blessing for us coffee lovers lol. The room itself was more than enough room for my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 small kids) AND 2 large dogs. We were able to fit a queen size blow up mattress beside the bed to make a mega bed for the 4 of us. The cabin was also stocked with flashlights, lanterns and head lamps! The out building had cotts if need be along with an abundance of chairs and fishing equipment. The fire pit was big and beautiful and came with a VERY useful cast iron pot with grill to boil water over the fire. There was some wood readily available and hubby enjoyed foraging. The sitting area overlooking the river had a stunning view where we took many photos. The 2nd sitting area had a screened in porch with deck and dock just a few feet away. The kids had a wonderful time watching the crayfish and attempting to catch minnows here. The 3rd sitting area had a firepit overlooking the water. We enjoyed canoeing and even took a trip to Crowe lake for some fishing. Katrina & Graham literally thought of everything to make this place perfect and We had the most WONDERFUL time ♡ Our dogs were in literal HEAVEN the entire time swimming their hearts out. Our only regret was not booking a longer trip! Thanks SO much K&G! we WILL be back! 😁

Absolutely loved the Riverbend. Our dog was happy to have space to run around and us not having to worry about her. Many sitting areas to relax at whether you wanted to watch the rapids or enjoy the screened in gazebo by the dock. Short trails wandered through the property for some exploring. And the cabin was a delight. Small but roomy with everything you need. Lots of little touches to make it that much better. Even the outhouse was clean and roomy. We will definitely be back.

Above and beyond expectations
After a stressful week at work, we were looking for a place to decompress and think about nothing for a short while. Riverbend's pictures and previous reviews fit the bill entirely (we're drawn to rushing water and rapids). The pictures do not do it justice!
Booking was a breeze, and Katrina and Graham even made a point to make sure the firewood shed was adequately stacked (we're also drawn to campfires) and even installed the missing ladder on the dock in the morning before we arrived.
The cabin is extremely well-appointed with amenities and stuff you may have forgotten. The outhouse is truly a destination in itself - not sure I've ever put those words together before!
Just a wonderful place to unwind - we spent most of the hot Saturday in the water just lazying around on a tube and stand-up paddleboard (that we brought).
I suppose an honest review needs to include something mildly negative, so here's our only complaint - we had to leave and go home. That was more our fault though.
We can't wait to come back. Thanks Katrina and Graham!

We need instantly fell in love with Grayotter cabin, it’s so welcoming and cozy. It’s equipped with absolutely everything you could need. The buildings and property layout gives preparation for the ability to enjoy your time in any weather setting. It’s a large private property on the water with multiple viewing and enjoyment options. It’s evident a lot of thought and effort went into this place and I can’t wait to stay again!

Amazing trip with family and dogs. Beautiful place dogs loved the freedom, definitely ticks to keep an eye out for but otherwise their paradise getaway as well as ours away from home. Everything available to our use, more than expected and peaceful and quiet. Thanks Katrina and Graham!

New Year's at Riverbend

This was our 2nd time at Riverbend Grayotter cabin. We wanted to be in a calm, natural, grounded and magical place to Thank 2025 for the valuable lessons, leaving behind what needs to be left behind, what to carry forward and to set New intentions for 2026.
No Better Place than Riverbend!
Mother Nature greeted us generously offering every shade of her weather; freezing rain, a sunny morning that ended with an afternoon blizzard, snow crunched walks on trails and around the flowing river with ice formations, days with big fluffy snowflakes and outdoor fires under starry skies with a luminous moon. Maise(our dog) also enjoyed being free to roam and explore the wintery weather. Grayotter Cabin protected us from the elements and we stayed warm and cozy by the wood stove. There was plenty of fire wood and lots of snow to melt for washing dishes.
Riverbend and the wonders of Mother Naure treated us to a Winter Wonderland! We would definitely come again in the winter!
It was another amazing and magical adventure at Riverbend Grayotter Cabin.
We got to meet Katrina and Graham which was an added bonus to our trip!

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! Our dog loved exploring the trails and spending time down near the water. We saw so much wildlife and the fall colours were beautiful. As always the cabin was ready for us when we arrived and Katrina & Graham were great hosts. We will be back!
