Natalie's land is beautiful - from the nature, the access to water, the animal sightseeing... We loved the land upon arrival. Natalie is sweet, kind and truly has put so much effort into making this place feel like home, especially for our dog. We didn't want to leave! The Bunkie had everything we needed, thoughtfully decorated, and what a gorgeous view from the deck - we even had a private fire pit at back. The outhouse was clean and well maintained. We will for sure be coming back!
Another lovely stay - this is an annual retreat for me now. Having stayed at both the Boot Hill and Field of Dreams sites, I can say they're both very well-appointed. This year we really appreciated the fireplace-style campfire grill, as it allowed us to enjoy our fire in the rain. Exploring the falls and river were the highlight of our stay. Our host even brought us some freshly-picked tomatoes! It was just the relaxing weekend we needed. See you next year, Field of Dreams :)
I had been trying to find a campsite via Ontario Parks but everything was booked. Then I discovered Hipcamp and found Natalie’s beautiful property. I’m so glad I did!
I really needed an escape from everyday stress, to slow down, reconnect w/ nature and heal. I brought my three furry adventure companions, and this trip gave me exactly that.
Natalie was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. She showed me around, shared some of the property’s history, offered to pick up anything I needed from the grocery store, and even provided a 5-foot-tall, three-storey cat cage so I could safely keep the cats nearby while enjoying my campfire instead of chasing them around!
The property is beautiful & peaceful. I experienced rain, sunshine, campfires, fireflies, owls hooting, coyotes in the distance and incredible stargazing. I even saw a shooting star! The funny signs around the property, including “Shit happens, let it go,” added such a fun personality to the place. lol
And the shower! 😂 Hot water surrounded by nothing but trees and greenery: such a unique experience. All I could do was smile.
On checkout day, Natalie kindly let me take my time since no one else was booked. With my body feeling sore from all the setup and managing three cats, not having to rush meant so much to me. She even gave me organic tomatoes from her garden as I left! ☺️
It was a much-needed reset. I left feeling lighter, refreshed and genuinely renewed. Thank you, Natalie! I’ll definitely be back. 🌿❤️
My dog and I did a little escape to Natalie’s and had a fantastic time! Natalie has created a little slice of paradise and is incredibly lovely and thoughtful.
The bunkie was well stocked with everything you would need - sheets, towels, pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. There are small appliances like a BBQ, coffee maker, microwave, kettle, etc. for use. Things were well organized and clean.
The river is lovely to swim in and it’s very relaxing having a fire at nice.
Bring your bug repellent! There are lots of mosquitoes - but that’s the outdoors for you!
Hopefully my pup and I can make it a yearly retreat.

A bunkie with all you need with a lovely view. Continuous sounds of nearby waterfall will provide relaxing vibes. Chairs were set up for our arrival on the deck. Perfect size for two adults. Nighttime fairy lights dance in the woods alongside ample fireflies. The river swimming hole was relaxing and refreshing. Loved our weekend getaway. We will definitely return.
I've been to Cabin in the Woods on a few occasions now and it's amazing every time! My family loves the serene lake and small waterfalls, the large and private campsites and Natalie's hospitality. My kids love fishing and there are bass and crappie fish there. Watching the stars and fireflies at night also adds a magical element to our getaways there. We always have an amazing time!
The river flowing through… YES, you can sit in and enjoy! Sooo refreshing, for both my dog and myself, as it was very hot during my stay. Natalie was very welcoming to both of us and My puppy truly enjoyed the loving attention given. It’s called the Blue Heron but we also experienced deer crossing in the water, beaver and maybe otters/mink playing in the water, a cute fox, a raccoon and a porcupine!
Definitely a beautiful spot for relaxing!

Natalie was an amazing host and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The bunkie was well stocked with everything we needed and the whole location was absolutely beautiful! We'll definitely be back!
This is our third time staying in Natalie's land. We've enjoyed every visit as Natalie always made us feel welcome. She made sure that we were alright despite all the rain we got during two of our visits, offered us fresh herbs from her garden, and told us to let her know if we needed anything in case we forgot something from home. She also made us aware that there was a turtle in her area laying eggs and to be careful driving down the road so we don't harm the turtle.
Her campsites are terrific! She's got a place for the bonfire with lots of chairs available, a mesh tent to keep the bugs out w/ a table and chairs, a private toilet(bucket), and a shower available for use. There is also a mesh cabin by the water if you want to listen to the waterfall and just relax there.
Natalie is such a superb host. You can tell that she's genuinely kind and is very respectful of the other inhabitans of her property.
It's a pleasure being her guests. We certainly got some good rest which was much needed!
We will definitely be coming back.

10/10 will absolutely recommend it. We had peaceful quiet time at the bunkie. Natalie had a screened gazebo next to the waterfall so it was quite serene. She also provided us extra utensils to use on the bbq.
I enjoyed having the quiet time with the dogs. I was a short walk to Beaver Creek and was able to use her kayak and the little cabin to sit by the water out of the bugs. I took kayak for a short paddle and saw a coyote and racoon on shore. Later in the evening I saw 2 deer in the field by my site and the a beaver and crane in the water by the bridge. Natalie was super friendly and enjoyed meeting my dogs. Other then the mosquitoes at this time of year it was a great place to get away for a few days. Definitely would go back again.
A beautiful, serene place to unplug and unwind. The fall colours were lovely and Natalie is truly the most thoughtful host. The bird watching is excellent and a cozy meal by the fire…perfection. Thanks again, Natalie!

BLUE HERON BUNKIE
Natalie's bunkie is a truly magical place! The cabin itself is so cozy and thoughtfully provisioned with everything you could need all season round, from practical supplies like cutlery and cookware and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on cool autumn nights to board games and paperback books and even a portable DVD player for makeshift movie screenings, if you can peel your eyes away from the view of the starry night sky.
The bunkie sits on a scenic body of water and a waterfall that make for great canoeing and swimming or admiring over morning coffee, and the rest of Natalie's property is bursting with whimsical art installments as well as gardens, fire pits, fairy lights, and fields of flowers.
My partner and I have visited twice - in the summer and the in the fall - and have found each season and each stay so uniquely gorgeous and relaxing. If you are looking for a place to retreat from the noise of the world, the bunkie is perfect. Natalie is so warm and welcoming and has put so much care and attention into providing people with a home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Heron Bunkie. Super cute and cozy cabin; the host even put a little fire in the wood stove, so we’d have a warm first night. We scored with the view and I scored with a kindred spirit who owns this beautiful land. Did I mention the outdoor shower? Divine.

BLUE HERON BUNKIE
This was my first Hipcamp experience, and Natalie has set the bar extremely high. She is a fantastic host - wonderful to deal with and very responsive. The Heron Bunkie was immaculate, and had everything you could need including a great little fridge, lights, a small wood stove (and wood), comfy bed and little touches like coffee (plus a coffee maker with filters) and ice cubes ready to go. The setting was lovely, despite the drier than normal conditions - peaceful. Multiple blue heron sightings, too, and a mystery critter in the pond. (She supplies binoculars!) Having coffee sitting on the generous deck was a treat, as was dinners prepared on the bbq. Amazingly, there were very few mosquitoes, so sitting outside to read or have a beverage was truly enjoyable. Being away from any city, the stargazing was stellar, too. My pup was made to feel really welcome, and she started to look for Natalie daily. All in all, a lovely, relaxing experience. Thank you so much, Natalie. You're the best. Not a surprise that Ginny didn't want to get out of the car when we got home!
My husband and I and our dog thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The bunky was very cozy. The view was amazing.
And lounging by the falls was great. Natalie is a pleasure to talk to and I would definitely recommend and would definitely book again. I felt very comfortable the whole entire weekend, It felt like I was staying with family and friends. Thank you Natalie, it was a pleasure meeting you 😊
Camping on Natalie's land was so peaceful and she had so many lovely little touches that made it so enjoyable! The sites were private and had many conveniences that made my stay easier. The kitchen tent and table, the bar b q, the shower... little sitting areas and hammocks placed around the property, firepits... Honestly the whole experience was delightful 😊
Beautiful spot, extremely welcoming host who makes you feel like family, beautiful HOT out door shower, fun and eclectic decor all over and use of anything on the property such as kayaks, fishing rods, fire pits etc
We absolutely loved our stay and will come back in the future. One small thing to note that I didn't notice in other reviews is mention of proximity. The Bunkie, where we stayed, is next to Natalie's (host) house. It is still private and Natalie is completely respectful of your space but if you're hoping to find a completely secluded and isolated spot, this may not be the ideal spot for you. It was not a problem for us, but for the sake of full transparency we felt it was worth noting.
Lots of trails, clear water and a small waterfall that you can sit right in. Charming little town near by.

My wife and 3 young kids wanted a fun and comfortable camping experience and Cabin in the Woods was exactly as advertised! The place was beautiful, private and clean. My kids wanted to try fishing for the first time and Natalie bought 3 brand new kids' fishing rods for them to use during our stay. We were blown away by the hospitality!!! Seeing the excitement on my kids' faces when they caught their very first bass ALMOST justified the last year of chauffeuring them around and putting up with all their screaming. Thank you Natalie! We also enjoyed the swimming holes, small waterfalls and watching the frogs hop around. Having a warm shower, sitting by a private fire and quietly watching the stars at night capped off the perfect days. We'll be definitely coming back!
We had a great weekend on Natalie’s beautiful property at the Blue Heron Bunkie. Natalie was a lovely host and made sure we had everything we could need. The view from the front porch was gorgeous, overlooking the pond. We saw blue herons flying by during the day and gorgeous fireflies at night. We will absolutely be coming back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boot Hill site. Short walk to the river where we swam was so refreshing during our 30C+ weather! Access to a hot water outdoor shower is beyond the norm and such a game changer before heading to the tent at night.
Natalie is an awesome, thoughtful host. She has a tucked away spot in trees for tent placement in shade, and has a screened dining tent with table and chairs. This was our 3rd year, and already looking forward to our next visit.
If peace and nature are what you are seeking, this beautifully cared-for land and campsite is for you. Perfect whether solo, couple, friends or family. Quiet and a great place to unplug from the world.
Had an amazing time here! Natalie is an amazing host with an amazing property. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend fishing and kayaking, enjoying the view, and walking through the beautiful forest. Remember to bring bug spray to this camp as you are centered around some lovely wildflower bushes where many bugs have made their home. Natalie went above and beyond with the camps set up including separate areas for tent, kitchen, and fire, not to mention a private bathroom and a fully functioning shower that she built herself.

I loved staying at field of dreams! The site was so beautiful and I was so grateful for all the amenities the host provided, especially the dining tent which was great in the middle of deerfly season. The land was beautiful and I was very close to town. Would definitely stay again!

We loved the bunkie on Natalie's land. It was so peaceful, we could hear the babbling Brooke constantly, and the swimming in the Brooke was just wonderful. My friend and I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend it.
