Hemlock Point Campground

Really lovely spot. We had a resident heron visit us every morning…lots of other little critters too. Camping area is nice & large. Daric is very friendly & communication was great.

I had a relaxing time at this campsite. It was quiet and well cared for. It is a great spot to just unwind. There is a canoe and bicycles supplied as well as a screen tent and bbq with pots and pans. The outhouse is quite nice for an outhouse actually and is just for the site.

This was a wonderful camp ground. Everything was provided that you would ever need. I was impressed. Location is beautiful and the trails are really well kept and maintained. I know how much work that is and it shows Daric’s dedication. Fantastic experience.

Beautiful spot!

We loved our stay at Ridgeview! The campsite was set up perfectly. We are just starting to get into camping again, so all the provided supplies were super convenient, especially the bbq with propane and the pots and pans. The site also had great amenities and equipment available (games, bikes and helmets, canoe and paddles, books, maps, etc). It was very easy to find our site and there was a great spot to set up our tent. Beautiful views and nice activity options, including hiking and canoeing. We had a great time and would definitely come back! Thank you, Daric!

This was a lovely campsite. I would love to come back again. There was a nice clean toilet, 2 fire pit options, a large tent with a picnic table in case it rains, bikes and kayaks available. Also loved being close to a stream, it was like white noise while sleeping!

Absolutely perfect place, tucked away and tons of fun. Beautiful terrain and well thought out site. I’m almost hesitant to even rave about this place as I want to keep it as a secret for myself but that wouldn’t be fair to the host and all the hard work and thoughtfulness that’s gone into this incredible place. He’s a 5 star host all day. What a phenomenal place to go stay! Thank you Deric! We’ll be back

Great amenities, perfect view

Gorgeous wide open campsite with plenty of sun and shade. Everything you could want is provided: barbeque, canoe, bikes, books, games, hammock, etc. Amazing scenery, very quiet and clean. Easily the nicest camping spot I've ever seen, I would definitely recommend to anyone and will be coming back again! The host Daric is also responsive and very kind.

Perfect Camping

Daric is an exceptional host who truly goes above and beyond. We stayed at his newest spot, the Brookside site, and it was fantastic. The area is incredibly peaceful, and having the soothing sound of the running brook in the background made it the perfect quiet getaway. If you love hiking or have active dogs, this location is an absolute dream. Khaleesi, Tyrion, and Floki had the absolute best time running around, burning off energy, and endlessly exploring the woods. The trail system is excellent, featuring a brand-new bridge over the first waterway and a canoe waiting to help you cross the Black River. The site amenities are unmatched. Daric provides bikes, kayaks, and plenty of firewood (complete with an axe) for the site's two fire pits. There is also a great covered screen tent sheltering a large picnic table, plus a BBQ with propane already supplied. Even the outhouse is beautifully built, spotlessly clean, and stocked with thoughtful extras. Having visited many different Hipcamp sites, as well as private and provincial campgrounds, I can confidently say this is the best-equipped and most tranquil spot we’ve found. Thank you, Daric, for sharing your beautiful land with us—we look forward to continuing our yearly tradition of staying here!

Amazing place!

This place was magic. Even in the thunder storms we had a blast. Having the "living room" area was a nice touch to take a pause and play games or eat inside. The bathroom was great too, especially the automatic light. We saw so much wildlife, including 3 otters playing in the rain, a beaver, great blue heron, many snakes and frogs, and an elusive turtle. So incredible! I also fell in love with the swimming hole, it was peaceful and fun to swim beside some the rapids and sit on the rocky edge.

We stayed 3 nights at the BROOKSIDE site. 2 Kayaks with paddles, 2 bikes and helmets, were definitely a bonus. Ridiculously cute creeks and water ways for paddling. There were maps, an airpump we used when our electric one died, everything came in handy. We star gazed, kayaked, hiked, swam near the rapids. Daric provided tons of firewood, the site was HUGE, there were like 4 or 5 places to set up your tent. There was a screened in gazebo with an extra tarp on top with a picnic table inside and a small BBQ for protected cooking. I have done HIP CAMPS before but they were very bare bones. Having distinct areas for tents meant a nice leveled sleep area. Daric recommend a beach to us to visit. WOLLASTON, it was a lovely drive and well worth the trip, great sand and a quiet beach. Then was visited the Old Hastings Mercantile, that was a treasure to find. Very nostalgic and just a really cool store. One could have spent hours in, a must see. Daric's place was spacious, such a huge site with lots to do. It was quiet and private. I would love to come again.

We loved it! We had the Hemlock Point site which was wonderful. So many things included. Firewood, propane bbq but also horseshoes, bocce ball, badminton, soccer and volleyball and board games! Plus a canoe with paddles and lifejackets. We hiked the trails and even saw otters. :) checked out the swimming hole, canoe rides with all the lily pads and frogs, and campfires with tons of stars. So peaceful- we really enjoyed our stay. Darci has thought of everything. Good job.

We had such a wonderful camping experience here! The site was absolutely beautiful, private, and very clean, with a gorgeous creek that really made the whole setting feel peaceful and relaxing. The host went above and beyond with the little details. There was a covered area with a table and cooking supplies, which made things so much more convenient, especially when spending the day outside. The outhouse was also exceptionally clean and thoughtfully stocked with emergency supplies in case you forgot something. You can really tell that a lot of care has gone into making the site comfortable and welcoming. We had a fantastic stay and would absolutely love to come back!

I loved that everything was there we brought our small trailer but Daric had everything ready when we got there. Right down to newspaper and a lighter to start the fire. The outhouse was very clean.not like you typical outhouse. Very quiet just what we need to escape.

Great camp site!

We loved the quiet and tranquillity of the site and all of the extra amenities that were provided. It was easy to find and the fact that it had a loop was perfect for my Ford F150 and a 13 foot airliner pop-up camper. The stars were great at night and the host was kind enough to provide firewood as well. We will definitely be back.

Secluded Paradise by the Creek

We absolutely loved Daric’s campsite! It was beautiful and incredibly peaceful. The river and babbling brook provided the perfect white noise for sleeping, and the parking was just over 75 feet from the tent pad, ideal for tenting. We spotted 3+ tent pads along the back trail, giving plenty of options. The covered, screened cooking area was fantastic, and the heavy tarp kept us dry during a short burst of rain. The outhouse was clean, the site was well stocked, and there was plenty of firewood. We forgot our extension cord and received a quick response with several options, including the ideal solution at the neighbouring site. The neighbours were much farther away than expected (perfect for our love of seclusion!) and incredibly friendly. We explored Ridgeview and Hemlock Point as well. Both great neighbouring sites with lots of space and direct water access for canoes. The bikes and kayaks were a fun bonus and gave us lots to explore. Just a note that the kayaks need to be carried or driven to the main water, as we weren’t able to access it directly through the creek from the site. We also tackled the inner part of the orange hiking trail, which was a great challenge and definitely left us out of breath in spots. This site offered incredible value and so much to explore in just one day. We were already planning our next visit shortly after arriving!

Nice spot, but not quite as secluded as I had originally expected. While our dogs were able to be off-leash for our entire stay, the road was busier than I had imagined, with quite a few trucks towing ATVs, as well as ATVs themselves, passing by. That said, we had a great time camping at Ridgeview and really appreciated all of the amenities that were included: the BBQ, cooking pots, pans and utensils, the well-tarped (and waterproof!) kitchen tent, lifejackets, and the extra balls and toys for the kids. Those thoughtful touches made the stay even more enjoyable. The Ridgeview site is a bit limited when it comes to flat areas for pitching tents. If you're bringing multiple tents and expecting a rainy weekend, just be aware that one of the flattest spots is also where water tends to pool. We have a good-quality tent and stayed dry, but I thought it was worth mentioning for future campers. The outhouse was honestly one of the nicest I've ever used! I actually caught myself lingering in there, browsing the books and reading all of the camp information posted - LOL. We didn't end up swimming because the weather wasn't in our favour and we were camping with toddlers. After checking out the swim area, it didn't feel like the best fit for little ones, so that's something other families with young children may want to keep in mind. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for your hospitality, Daric!

Wonderful place to camp so peaceful. Daric was a wonderful host helped with everything awesome sitting by fire on pond so many great memories. The hiking trail was amazing and swim hole. Had a great time thanks for time away from home . Be sure to book again soon. Hemlock point campsite was amazing lots of space for everything. 10/10

It was so peaceful. We did get rained out the second day. The gazebo saved the day. We had a couple camp fires. Watched the otter., listened to the bull frogs. Took a hike. Definitely will book this site again. A nee favorite spot.
