Welcome to Camping with a View!
Situated in Myers Cave, Ontario famous for its stargazing opportunities. Your tent site overlooks two lakes, where you can see and hear rapids while enjoying the peaceful sounds of loons and nature by the fire pit.
There is a cabin on site however it is not for use, other than for sitting on the wraparound porch for a better view or to get shelter from the sun/rain.
Included in the price:
- access to the site (2 flat areas for smaller sized tents)
- firewood (please keep the fire controlled)
- canoe/paddles and two lifejackets for you to use
- ability to use the wraparound patio at the cabin to sit and get out of the sun/rain
A path down to the water makes it easier for you to get to the canoe (please leave the canoe and paddles as you found it, flipped over). Fishing and swimming are great closer to both sets of rapids. 2 lifejackets are kept in the outhouse if you don't bring your own.
Firewood is included so please do not cut trees! There is a pit toilet on-site for your convenience. There is also a small grill that is left by the fire pit for cooking with the fire.
Please note it is recommended that you have a 4X4 vehicle in order to access the site (maintain 20-30km/h going up the steep driveway). Take the driveway up two steep inclines and park at the dead end.

Originally inhabited by Algonquin peoples the land was cleared for farming and they erected several building including a large German style hand hewn timber frame barn which still stands and is used today. The farm house was built in the 1910 and the original log cabins have been reframed into artistic buildings. It is wild to look around and imagine what life was like before now in a time when the land had no boundry lines and was traversed by indigenous peoples of this area. Welcome to Camping with a View!
Situated in Myers Cave, Ontario famous for its stargazing opportunities. Your tent site overlooks two lakes, where you can see and hear rapids while enjoying the peaceful sounds of loons and nature by the fire pit.
There is a cabin on site however it is not for use, other than for sitting on the wraparound porch for a better view or to get shelter from the sun/rain.
Included in the price:
- access to the site (2 flat areas for smaller sized tents)
- firewood (please keep the fire controlled)
- canoe/paddles and two lifejackets for you to use
- ability to use the wraparound patio at the cabin to sit and get out of the sun/rain
A path down to the water makes it easier for you to get to the canoe (please leave the canoe and paddles as you found it, flipped over). Fishing and swimming are great closer to both sets of rapids. 2 lifejackets are kept in the outhouse if you don't bring your own.
Firewood is included so please do not cut trees! There is a pit toilet on-site for your convenience. There is also a small grill that is left by the fire pit for cooking with the fire.
Please note it is recommended that you have a 4X4 vehicle in order to access the site (maintain 20-30km/h going up the steep driveway). Take the driveway up two steep inclines and park at the dead end.

This property was settled by the Irish in the mid 1800’s. Originally inhabited by Algonquin peoples the land was cleared for farming and they erected several building including a large German style hand hewn timber frame barn which still stands and is used today. The farm house was built in the 1910 and the original log cabins have been reframed into artistic buildings. It is wild to look around and imagine what life was like before now in a time when the land had no boundry lines and was traversed by indigenous peoples of this area. What a beautiful land- truly grateful for the opportunity to stay at Big Rock Eco Resort. Thank you to Jason and Susie for being wonderful hosts. The Cabin itself was beautiful and has more than enough amenities to enjoy a stay comfortably. Directions were clear and easily understood. The experience was very peaceful and enjoyable, literally so quiet out there. Lots of trails to explore and we were able to skate on the lake and the hot tub was a big bonus. A big thank you to Rocky and Jason, who helped my guarded dog socialize so he could enjoy some play with a pup friend! We all had an amazing time, will be returning in the near future!

We really enjoyed the campsite and the overall park was great. From the trails to the dog park, fishing dock, beach area, and clean amenities, the park was well maintained and easy to get around. The host, Monica is fabulous! She is incredibly welcoming and very guest focused - we loved our trip so much that we are likely getting a seasonal site to enjoy the park all season long! The park is very dog friendly, which was a bonus for us and our furry family member. Highly recommend the park for its super homey atmosphere and hidden gems when you're out for an adventure!

Monica is fantastic host. The campsite is clean. The yellow chalet is cute. Each cottage houses have there own personalities. They have the stuff you need for cooking and fire pit. Access to the water is good. Good for swimming boating and fishing. The hiking trails are marked.

Had an amazing stay at Sean’s place in the beginning of October. He was so accommodating and friendly. We had everything we needed and Sean was responsive to our messages. The lake is a short walk away and even though it was late in the season, we had warm enough weather to take a dip. We stayed on the landing site and had an overall amazing experience. Will definitely be back again. We went exploring and made a couple of new friends in the area as the people we encountered were very friendly. Not a single complaint and it’s nice for people who want to forgo the crowded campgrounds.

Victor has gone above and beyond most other campsite operators providing a lovely wooded campsite with an elevated tent platform, great firepit, firewood as well as fire starter and kindling, potable water, propane bbq, screened dining tent, countertop for food prep, all in a private woodland setting yet within walking distance to hot shower and flush toilet.
