Welcome to Burke’s Barnyard, a laid-back, 420-friendly farm stay tucked into the rolling Boulter Hills, just 30 minutes from Barry’s Bay or Bancroft. Our scenic 4-acre property offers a peaceful rural escape where guests can slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy authentic farm life. Wake up to the sounds of roosters crowing and ducks chatting as the sun rises over open fields and forested hills. Spend your days exploring the property, relaxing by the campfire, stargazing under wide country skies, or visiting with our friendly barnyard crew. You’ll meet pigs, ducks, chickens, and turkeys who are always happy to be admired and photographed. It’s a great setting for animal lovers, couples, and small groups looking for something different than a typical campground. Nearby, you’ll find beautiful lakes and sandy beaches perfect for swimming, paddling, fishing, or simply enjoying a sunny afternoon by the water. The surrounding area also offers hiking trails, scenic drives, ATV routes, and classic small-town shops and restaurants in Bancroft and Barry’s Bay. Evenings are all about campfire conversations, good food, and relaxed vibes. Hidden Gem is tucked into the back corner of the property, offering one of our more private camping experiences. If you’re looking for a quieter setting with a bit more separation from the main flow of the farm, this site is a great choice. The campsite sits in a peaceful clearing bordered by trees, creating a natural buffer while still keeping you within easy walking distance of shared amenities. There is plenty of room for tents and outdoor gear, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests. One vehicle is permitted and must be parked directly on your campsite. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, giving you a dedicated space for meals, relaxing, and evening campfires. Firewood is available 24 hours a day on the front porch of the farm stand for $10 per bag. Amenities & Access Guests at Hidden Gem have walking access to: • Outdoor washroom facilities • Animal viewing areas • Open green space throughout the 4-acre property • Communal gathering areas Activities & Experience While this site offers added privacy, you’re still just a short walk from meeting our pigs, ducks, chickens, and turkeys and enjoying the laid-back barnyard atmosphere. Spruced Up is a shady, peaceful tent site tucked beneath mature spruce trees, offering natural privacy and cool cover on warm summer days. If you enjoy the sound of wind moving through the trees and a softer, forested feel, this is a great fit. This is a tent-only site with a level grassy area suitable for tents. There is plenty of space within your designated campsite for your group to spread out comfortably. Each site includes its own picnic table and fire pit, giving you a dedicated area for meals, games, and evening campfires. Your vehicle must be parked directly at your campsite, and there is room to accommodate it within the site area. Amenities & Access Spruced Up guests have easy walking access to shared farm amenities, including: • Outdoor washroom facilities • Animal viewing areas • Open green space across the 4-acre property • Communal gathering areas Firewood is available 24 hours a day on the front porch of the farm stand for $10 per bag. Barn View is one of our favorite sites on the property, offering a bright, open camping area with beautiful views of the barn and surrounding countryside. This site gets plenty of sunshine throughout the day, making it ideal for solar setups, sun-lovers, and guests who prefer an open-sky feel. The campsite sits in a wide grassy clearing bordered by spruce and pine trees, giving you a balance of openness and natural definition. There is ample space for tents and outdoor gear, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests. One vehicle is permitted and must be parked directly on your campsite. Each site includes its own picnic table and fire pit, providing a dedicated area for meals, games, and evening campfires. Firewood is available 24 hours a day at the farm stand for $10 per bag. Barn View is also the site most likely to receive casual visits from our free-roaming turkeys and curious chickens. They may wander through during the day as part of normal farm life, adding to the authentic barnyard experience. Amenities & Access Guests have easy walking access to shared outdoor washroom facilities, animal viewing areas, and open green space across the 4-acre property. The farm is designed to be explored on foot, with plenty of room to roam and relax. Double Duty is our largest campsite, offering more than twice the space of our standard sites and tucked away toward the very back of the property. Designed with larger groups in mind, this site provides room to spread out while still enjoying the relaxed farm atmosphere. The site sits in a spacious open clearing bordered by trees, creating a natural sense of separation from other campers. With plenty of flat ground for multiple tents, gear setups, and gathering areas, it comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests. Up to 2 vehicles are permitted and must be parked directly on the campsite. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, giving your group a central hub for meals, games, and evening campfires. With the extra square footage, Double Duty is ideal for group trips, birthday weekends, reunions, or friends looking to camp together without feeling crowded. Firewood is available 24 hours a day on the front porch of the farm stand for $10 per bag. Site 1 is our cozy “Bed-in-a-Shed” bunkie, perfect for couples or solo guests who want the camping atmosphere with the comfort of a real bed. The bunkie sits within its own private campsite area and includes a dedicated picnic table and fire pit. Inside the bunkie, you’ll find a queen-size bed with a waterproof mattress cover. Please bring your own bedding, pillows, and blankets to suit your comfort. The interior is compact and designed primarily for sleeping, with limited floor space for gear. From November through April, propane heat is included to keep the space warm during colder stays. There is no built-in electricity, but a Jackery portable power station is available to rent for $25 per night if you’d like to charge phones or small devices. Outside, you have plenty of room within your designated site to set up additional tents for friends or family. The picnic table makes it easy to enjoy meals, games, or morning coffee right at your campsite. We found Burkes Barnyard on TikTok and were very excited to visit. Everything was exactly as advertised. Beautiful clean sites, wonderful hosts, farm fresh eggs available, and the animals are so much fun with chickens and ducks wandering through our campsite. Everything was perfect and we will be returning in a few weeks.

We had a wonderful experience! The kids had a blast with the chickens! We had a meet and greet with the animals which was one of a kind experience. The eggs were delicious !The sandy beach was nearby and we had an amazing time. The hosts were very kind and the welcome gift was truly kind and appreciated. Definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a cool camping spot.

From the moment we arrived at Burks Barns Barnyard Camping, Melissa and Gary made us feel like part of the family. Gary greeted us with a warm smile and a welcome jar of honey from his very own bee farm — such a thoughtful touch! They went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially for our 6-year-old. Gary took the time to give him a close-up introduction to the farm animals, which absolutely made his day. Watching him light up while meeting the animals — from the friendly pigs to the curious chickens and proud roosters — was an unforgettable memory for us all. The campsites were spotless, well-kept, and thoughtfully equipped with little extras for our comfort, making our stay as relaxing as it was fun. If you’re looking for a camping getaway with genuine hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and a true taste of farm life, look no further. We can’t wait to come back again!

My son and I loved camping on Sarah’s land with our family over the weekend . we were at campsite two it was absolutely mesmerizing. The directions were very clear that you can’t get lost on which campsite is where. They have an amazing variety of things at their farm stand. And the fact that you get chickens and roosters to come right up to you and have a personal interaction with them at your campsite is amazing it was one of my son’s favorite parts being there over the weekend and going from absolutely terrified of them once we first got there to 10 minutes later being one with the chickens😂. There were other campsites with other amazing people. My son got to make some amazing memories with other kids at the campsite next to us. And the fact when it’s night the stars are absolutely beautiful to look at while having a smore over the campfire. And the fact you can sesh at your campsite without any worry’s about the kiddos being up your butt the whole time, they were on there own little adventures through either there wood path or going into the inclosure to take a look at their ducks, turkeys & their pigs pumpkin and Louis definitely an opportunity for the kids to have a one on one interaction with them . We’re definitely coming back next year for more adventures to come !

It's private, beautiful and you will have everything you need from wood for the fire to fresh eggs. I was gifted a jar of honey when I got there and all my questions were answered very fast, as I had never been to the area before. I would and will go back in a heartbeat! Beautiful place and hosts.

Had a fantastic time at Burke's Farm Site 5! The site was private and peaceful, perfect for a family getaway. The kids loved interacting with the animals, and we took Melissa’s recommendation to visit a nearby beach—great for swimming and relaxing. Highly recommend!

It was a lovely place, everyone was friendly. We got in late and were pretty tired so stuck to ourselves. In the morning we spent some time with the chickens and animals and they were super cute and awesome. Great place.

This was our 2nd summer visiting Burkes Barnyard with our (now) 3 year old! It’s the perfect place to enjoy the perks and company of barnyard animals safely, while you unwind and relax. We’ve stayed on rainy afternoons and enjoyed puddles with the ducks, and on gorgeous days basking in the sunshine like Pumpkin&Lewis LOL! Weather doesn’t matter, it will always be a magical experience here! It’s absolutely worth noting that the hosts are incredible! They go above and beyond for their visitors in so many ways, plus you can see and feel the love/passion going into this beautiful space they have created. Always a wonderful experience, can’t wait to visit again 😊 (Thank you so, SO much Melissa&Gary!!! We hope to be back soon!💞✌️✨)

Everything was as described, very convenient water available close to campsite, picnic table, fire pit. Very family friendly, we were lucky to be the only people in all campsites so we enjoyed the place to ourselves. My children got entertained with the chickens for HOURS! We loved hearing the turkeys and the roosters sing. It's truly a beautiful experience. Gary and Melissa are great hosts, very kind and easy to reach out to if we needed anything. During the day we did little road trips, to the Eagle's nest lookout on Manitou mountain and the Bonnechere caves. Our kids 2 and 3 years old loved both! We visited mid June, make sure you bring LOTS of bug spray.

Three things: Warm showers before sunset; No electricity of any kinds in the cabin; Closest towns with supermarkets, Shoppers, restaurants, laundry and car washes are Bancroft and Haliburton.

Amazing camping spot
Site 1 - Apple of My Eye
My partner and I rented the small cabin with queen size mattress and the 2 nights we spent were extremely comfortable. The cabin was tidy, same goes for their whole campsite! They’ve managed to create an authentic and fun experience allowing you to feed their chickens, turkeys and pigs, providing canoe rental/drop off to beautiful lakes nearby and even personalized reiki sessions. Highly recommend!! Great place for kids too

Site 4 -Hidden Gem
Family friendly, small, but very private campground. Bugs were minimal when we went in the beginning of August. Chickens and pigs are incredibly friendly and will eat ANYTHING. We got lucky while we were there, the neighbours were moving their cows to another grazing field and they came in into the field behind our campsite! Very cool experience. The campground is also central to a couple hiking places, like Eagles Nest in Bancroft and Egan Chutes Provincial Park. The campground also had a small convenience-like store where you could borrow or rent items like games, or camping gear, and you could buy snacks like smores kits!

Site 4 -Hidden Gem
If you want a quiet, private, fun, 420 friendly camping experience, we highly recommend Burke’s Barnyard! Melissa and Gary are both super kind and welcoming hosts who have gone the extra mile to make sure you have an enjoyable stay on their awesome property. We rented their air bed last minute as we forgot the cap to ours at home, and they inflated it for us and everything. Their Hot Box tiny “store” is great if you’re a forgetful camper - it’s stocked with everything you might need (we bought some freezies which saved us on a hot July day). We stayed on the Hidden Gem site - definitely recommend if you’re wanting privacy as the rest of the sites are similar to a provincial park in distance/visibility to each other. But sites 4 & 5 (Double Duty) are quite private and secluded! And all the sites are a generous size. There is a wide variety of adorable and friendly farm animals to see, and chickens galore (watch your food hahaha)! The pig ate an apple right out of my hand! And there was also a herd of cows on the other side of the fence that we got to see up close. A beautiful farm experience :) Just be prepared to be woken up early - farm animals don’t care that you want to sleep in, and you’re in their house! As well, the rustic outdoor cold shower was perfectly refreshing. There are also some short trails to explore the property. All in all, a wonderful weekend spent at Burke’s Barnyard and we will definitely return!

We enjoyed our time here. It was a nice spot. They have everything you need in their little farm stand. The chickens and turkeys were fun to hangout with. A nice beach just up the road. Bancroft is filled with incredible views.
