The terrain is mostly flat but interesting. Campsites are private with good separation from each other. ALL sites have 2 car parking, a picnic table, fire pit and covered wood for purchase. Campfires are permitted according to our approved burn plan before midnight.
5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower.
FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin that sleeps three and a bunkie that sleeps two. A full barbecue with propane is provided. Many camping items are also available, like a Coleman stove, tables, and dishes. There is also a levelled off tent site with a private fire pit.
You will have access to the dock and a large fire pit area which are part of the owner’s cottage on the property. There will be a port-a-potty on site.
Lake Townsend is close to several conservation areas and 12 minutes to the quaint town of Markdale with several shops, a bakery, and a large grocery store.
The city of Owen Sound is 35 minutes away. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular.
Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake.
But once you get settled in, you may just want to rest and relax at the lake! It has its own beauty and serenity and is home to many bird species and other wildlife.

This was our first time booking a spot on Hipcamp and we can 100% agree that it was the perfect getaway! The cabin was clean and very cute. No bugs, and clean bedding. The property is gorgeous and very private. We stayed in site #1 which was more secluded in the trees, over the #2 site. We got to use the big floating tubes which were a great touch to float and relax on the water. Lisa and her husband were very welcoming and so kind! We are definitely referring this site to friends.
Also just an idea, I would maybe suggest installing some hooks inside the cabin, so personal bags/coats/light etc could be hung and off the ground.

1 night at Organic Flower Farm
What a fantastic experience, my girlfriend and I were looking for a cute camping retreat for a night. We stumbled across this cute site, the host Mike and Jenny were absolutely amazing. Such humble and thoughtful people, and their farm that they have is beautiful. We got to see the animals he has and how gentle he treats them. Mike took us for a little tour of his property and explained the area to us and the history of it all. The tent and setup he provided for us was incredible, something the both of us will never forget. Star gazing at night and having the beautiful light set up as we lit a fire was very romantic. The bother of us will be attending again forsure! We can’t say enough good things about the stay and the hospitality the hosts gave us. Truly a remarkable experience!

Weekend Trip to River Rock Eco-Camp
Amber was a great host! First of all, the site was beautiful, quiet, and just far enough from town to truly relax. The river is gorgeous and a perfect beginner canoing spot. Pet friendly and affordable. Also, she made the outhouse awesome - minimal smell, clean water pumped from a jug with SOAP, and feminine hygiene provided.

Weekend Trip to Willow Pond Haven
Scott & Lisa were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They started us off with a quick tour of the property and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. They were also great about checking in by message to make sure everything was going well.
The campground and property were very tidy, and they provided most of the essentials we needed for a comfortable stay. You can really tell they take pride in the place and care about their guests. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend staying here!

A highlight from our stay at Margaret's cabins were the kayaks! As the bottom of the lake near the dock wasn't great it was super nice to be able to row out and use the neighbour's dock in deeper water!
The solar lights in the cabins were really helpful and the outhouse was high end!! Also the solar fans with a charging option were neat! Thanks so much for giving us a chance to be on the lake for a bit.

This is a great spot to go and get away! Lisa and Scott were amazing hosts from beginning to end! They were there to greet us upon arrival and give us a tour of the property. Communication was a breeze with Lisa during our stay! They checked in to ensure we had everything we needed while being respectful of our time and privacy. They were very accommodating and the property was beautiful. The bunkies are closer together than we thought but in bunkie #1 we still felt we had a decent amount of privacy from the neighbouring bunkie and a nice view of the pond. The chickens were an added bonus! The kids just loved feeding them! :)
This was my first time ever booking something like this, so I was quite nervous. The property is well kept , the bunkies are super clean with bedding and pillows provided and the outdoor bathroom was well maintained. I was not disappointed and will definitely book here again!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely weekend away with our 3 golden retrievers! Dales land has everything you need and more! The tent was very comfortable with room to set up beds for the pups too! The electricity (fan, lights, even a fridge!) and having a real bed was such a bonus as we both are used to “roughin’ it”. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked and had everything we were missing. The outdoor shower was so neat as well! We can’t wait to return in the future, and we highly recommend booking this site!

Margaret is an excellent host; her attention from the first moment was great. The bunkie is fantastic and cozy, everything is very clean... The place is amazing, it exceeded our expectations ten thousand percent. It has very beautiful views during the day, and even more so at night. I've never seen such a starry sky in one night!

Weekend Trip to BAM’s Spanish Riviera
We loved staying at the Dovetail cabin! Beth was very warm and welcoming and took great care of us while also giving us space to relax and enjoy her property. She was very well versed on the history and new comings of the area, 100% will be going back! Please respect Beth’s rules and suggestions, they are there for you and the wild life around you. If you go bring bug spray! You are most definitely in the woods.

Weekend Trip to Willow Pond Haven
Everything was extremely good from check-in to check-out. Lisa and her husband are excellent hosts. The cabin is new, spotless, and clean. The beds are very comfortable, the bed sheets and blankets are cozy and clean.
Very Private and quiet. Very nice relaxing pond where you can swim or do some water sports, Equipment is provided by the hosts or you can sit around the pond read and relax
You can purchase Eggs, they are delicious

We will definitely come back next year.
For the new campers, there is no running water that has to be brought in by the host, no electricity, but they are very nice and cozy solar lamps are provided and no internet which is a blessing you go there to rest.🤗

Extremely hospitable. Hosts literally make you feel at home. Everything was in pristine condition when we got there. The hosts provide you with almost anything you would probably need during the stay. Highly recommend.

1 night at Willow Pond Haven
The hosts were absolutely lovely — warm, kind, and welcoming. They greeted us with such care and hospitality, even though we arrived quite late.
The place itself is truly breathtaking and you can feel how much love and thought has gone into creating it. Surrounded by peaceful nature, everything feels quiet, harmonious, and serene. It’s the perfect place to slow down, simply enjoy the beauty of life, and truly rest both body and soul.
