This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll. You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival. PLEASE NOTE: *There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property. *There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site. Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

1 night at Bruce Trail Bunkie

Great experience! We spent long weekend at the bunky. Got to do a bonfire at night. The kitchen is convenient! The trails are right across the property.. had a great time hiking. The hosts are amazing people! It was lovely chatting with them, lucy is so cute and loves pets ! All in all definitely recommend this place

We had such a wonderful stay here! The camping accommodation was clean, cozy, and very well maintained. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The hosts (Joan, Onyx and Sid) were friendly, welcoming, and made sure everything was comfortable for us. We especially loved the quiet atmosphere and how well organized everything was. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing camping getaway.

Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin

This cabin was completely secluded - you couldn't hear anything at all and was surrounded with woods. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and peaceful stay was provided plus more. The wood stove warmed the cabin perfectly which was extremely clean and the bed was super comfy. Gavin and Della were available via text and responded to questions immediately. My boyfriend and I would definitely go back and I've already recommended the spot to my son.

Beautiful view and really well located. MJ provided great recommendations for local restaurants and the bunkie was exactly as pictured. I stayed one night, but I wish I would have stayed a few more to explore the area further. Absolutely would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky

We stayed at the bunkie by Strawberry Fields and it is probably the best site out of all the Pine the Sky. It is very secluded, private and shady. Our dogs were able to run around freely without having to worry about the other people on the other sites. Keep in mind though that the bunkie is powered by generator so you have to ask the host if you want to use it. There were mosquitoes but not too bad once you get the fire started. Our host, Joan, was also wonderful and very accommodating during our stay. Too bad, we didn't get to see her dog.

My son an I had a great time at Gren and Twila's cabin. The cabin is situated on a fantastic hilltop spot on their property that is private and has good energy as my son was very calm and happy. We will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Super cool spot! Private, cosy, silent and pitch black at night, awesome ventilation in the sleeping loft. The bunkie is an awesome build, and the main sitting area has a really comfortable vibe (rug, couch, blanket, map of the bruce trail). We loved it. Just stopped in for a night on a longer journey, but would absolutely come back.

Joan was a great host! She was super flexible and accomodating when our cold spring camp turned into a cozy bunkie stay. Beautiful property and lots of great hikes to do in the area. Even took the canoe out for an early morning paddle! Would recommend to anyone

Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky

This was a hidden Oasis! My wife and I decided to spend our anniversary in Pine the Sky'. We were the only ones there as it was a cold late April. The tiny cabin (bunkie) was small but could easily fit two people. There were a upper bunk and a lower bunk we stored our clothes on the top. There are many planted Pune trees that gives privacy and gives a forest feel. We had a fire pit near the bunkie so you can cook. Joan was a fantastic and amiable host and we quickly became friends. Her two dogs were a joy to play with. The dogs are medium sized and playful but they are not aware how strong they are! There are restaurants nearby if you aren't cooking. We spent a beautiful tranquil weekend in nature. We are considering another stay should we want to get out of the city on the weekend. Thanks Joan!

1 night at Grindstone Creek Farm in Burlington

We love our stay at the barn loft! It’s a cozy little place perfect for 2. The owners are sweet, the animals are the best! We will def return here. Small suggestion: the pillows provided are high pillows and it’s a bit hard on the neck to sleep on, we wish to have low and softer pillows next time :) everything else is perfect!

My husband and I went up and had an amazing time. We did the sauna and it was so nice being able to go in and out in the three hours we had. Beautiful scenery! Would definitely go back or rent the haven or Oliver’s house. 😊

Weekend Trip to Cozy Woodland Bunkie-Outdoor Shower

We had a lovely time at the Pinecone Bunkie. Privacy, quiet, Clean and nice. So close to Long Point and so easy to get there from our Bunkie. The Bunkie was clean and quaint...nice fire pit, comfortable beds, room for everyone to relex and enjoy our time. Dogs had a great time too, they can't type so they are barking their review and I can't understand them. Our Bunkie will be reserved again!
