This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River. -RV Spot: With electric hook up ideal for RVs 30 feet and under -a connection to the organization, 'Black Folks Camp Too'! Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll. You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival. PLEASE NOTE: *There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property. *There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site. Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. Orangeville is 15 mins away for all food and supplies you may need. We can assist w/ Bruce Trail (Caledon Hills Section) pick ups/ drop offs if we are available.

Weekend Trip to Bruce Trail Bunkie

This clean and tidy bunkie has everything you need for a private, restful stay. We watched chipmunks, a fox, and a wild turkey traverse the field as we sat in our chairs by fire. Lovely. Dress for cooler weather bring extra blankets. The loveseat pulls out into a bed, so one can sleep in the loft and another on the main floor is not a couple. Very nice!

The fall colours were gorgeous, the cabin was super cozy, and had all necessary amenities (box stove to heat up the space on cold nights, camping stove, nice outhouse, a generator to charge devices, etc.). The fresh eggs and morning smoothies were great additions to the experience. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for a nice weekend away!

Weekend Trip to Boho Bungalow in Port Dover

Our stay at Beth’s Boho Bungalow in Port Dover was an absolute blessing and a gift. It was magical beyond words, and it was exactly the peaceful, healing escape that my wife needed. The property itself is a perfect paradise. We spent our time relaxing in the amazing hot tub, sitting by the cozy fire pit, and walking down to her beautiful, serene ravine. At night, the sky opened up to the most incredible view of the stars. Sitting outside, listening to the wind blowing through the trees and all the beautiful noises of nature, was deeply therapeutic. On top of the beautiful privacy, the location is perfect—it is a scenic, easy walk straight to the Port Dover pier, the beach, and all the local amenities. I am a firm believer that angels walk this earth, and Beth is wholeheartedly one of them. She is genuinely one of the kindest, most gentle human beings we have ever dealt with. To make things even better, Beth's neighbor, Kat, and her husband were also just amazing, beautiful human beings. It was truly an absolute pleasure to meet them as well. Even though we are local to the area, this felt like a completely different world. We had such a wonderful experience that we will definitely be going back. We had such a wonderful stay! The site was lovely and peaceful, and our little one had the absolute best time — it was his first camping trip and it couldn't have gone better. Jessica was so accommodating and even provided heated blankets, which made the chilly night extra cozy. We would love to come back!

We stayed in the wee Boler and despite its size, it was perfectly comfortable for our nights. Otherwise during the day everyone was friendly and there were always dogs & goats to visit. Denise & Chris were lovely, helpful hosts. Would recommend everyone pay a visit!

We really enjoyed the Bruce trail Bunkie! It was well situated, well stocked and just a quaint cozy little space. The loft bed was comfortable and nice, the outhouse was tidy and clean. 2 nights at Chapelwood Chalet

Our stay could not have been more pleasant! The cabin was cozy and well stocked, and Jake was very kind and took some time to show us around. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the trails and cooking over the campfire. Our dog had a wonderful time being able to stay off leash the entire stay and running along the trails to the river. Absolutely recommend the stay!

Weekend Trip to Goats and Gardens

I absolutely loved my stay at Goats and Gardens. Greg and Barb were both incredibly welcoming, responsive and accommodating, and made me feel right at home. My little room was cozy and quaint, with a mini fridge and microwave, and I especially loved having my own private deck overlooking the pasture. Finding fresh cherry tomatoes waiting for me in my room when I arrived was such a lovely touch. There are so many wonderful little spaces around the property. The cabin is incredibly cozy and a great place to curl up with a book or just hang out. There’s a bench by the pond, an outdoor shower, and a lovely little outdoor kitchen where you can prepare your meals. The farm itself was a big part of what made my stay so special. Greg showed me around the farm, gardens and animals. I got to hold a chick and pet the goats, and I loved the little updates about what was happening around the farm, including the chicks being born. I’ll have to go back just to learn more about their water system, which looked fascinating! Greg was very thoughtful about letting me know beforehand that this isn’t a secluded retreat—it’s a working property and a place where people live their everyday lives. You may hear family and friends, people working or doing chores, animals, neighbours, cars and trains. I really appreciated knowing that beforehand. What I discovered, though, is that it doesn’t have to be one or the other. The sounds of everyday life and the peacefulness of the country can coexist. In fact, the sounds of family, friends and people working around the property made me smile—happy sounds of people being together and simply living their lives. I could hear life happening around me and still sit on my private deck overlooking the pasture and feel peaceful, safe and grounded. For me, that was part of what made Goats and Gardens so special. It really was the best of both worlds—connected to the life happening around me while still surrounded by the beauty, warmth and grounding experience of the country. I happened to arrive during a particularly difficult time in my life, and this little corner of the world turned out to be a very special place to be. It’s a wonderful place to take a break from life for a little while, and I will definitely be back. I’m already planning to talk to my grandchildren about coming back to camp here together next year. Thank you, Greg and Barb, for creating such a special place and for making me feel so welcome.

We stayed in the larger bunker this weekend. The stay was just what we wanted. Our site was very private, barely even knew anyone else was there. Our puppers had an absolute blast and are completely pooped now! Joan is an amazing host and keeps the property well maintained! Close to a few waterfalls and parks to explore. 10/10 experience. Everything was perfect. The cabin was spacious and comfortable. The site is completely private allowing you to disconnect and relax from the hustle of every day life. We loved the farm dogs, the sheep, on the farm trail and staying off grid. Highly recommend and will be sharing our experience with friends and family. Can't wait to visit again
