This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

It was 1984 when John found his ‘diamond in the rough’, 20 acres with an orchard on the outskirts of Brantford.
O.K., so the house was nothing to write home about but perfect for building a construction yard…no neighbors except for the family across the road that used their property to build log homes.
By 1987 the old house was gone, a new one was being built and a shop for working on heavy equipment had been located about 200 ft. from Dr. the back door.
It wasn’t until 1996 that things changed very much.
Yes, the property around the house had benefitted from a wide array of trees and shrubs that John saved from the construction/demolition jobs he had done and that still thrive today but no big projects (except for equipment purchases) were ongoing.
A chance meeting with the neighbor across the road one day resulted in the following dinner conversation, ‘How was your day’ I chirped. ‘Not bad, so-and-so didn’t come in; the truck broke down and I took it for repair; I bought the property across the road, and oh, yeah I’ll need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ was John’s casual reply. ‘What was that’? I pressed. ‘Yes, I need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ he repeated with a bit more volume. Of course like anyone, I had questions, ‘Do you want peas or corn with dinner’? ‘What time do you want to go to get the truck’?
‘The property across the road’, 10 acres, still has the 4 storey barn with its twin tiled silos which was built in 1914 and the big white house with wrap around porch that once was home to a Doctor and his family. Built so the Doctor could see his patients in the front with the family living in the back was very common in the day.
Things remained relatively peaceful until 2000 when after studying alpacas for more than 6 years I bought our first three.
Back in 2000 alpacas and llamas were not frequently seen on farms and because they could been seen from the road they received A LOT of attention.
People driving by would stop and ask about them, ask if they could take a picture or two and that was when I would hear over and over again ‘You have a beautiful place here, I wish I/we could stay’.
Well, if you want to visit and stay in the city it’s doable, we call it a hotel. But visiting a farm and staying well, that isn’t so easy.
Each year we would see more and more families coming to ‘The Farm’ as they would call it.
Some came to see the alpacas and horses, some came for a stroll and to check out the horse drawn milk and bread delivery wagons, some to have family birthday parties, others to have engagement/wedding/Christmas card pictures…and so many asked if there was any way they could spend a day or two.
In 2021 during a conversation with a friend I mentioned we were in the process of gutting the 1100 sq. ft. space downstairs and turning it into an Airbnb! Right away she said, ‘I don’t know why you don’t have a Hipcamp? You’ve got that great area by the new barn that Hipcampers would love’!
After a little investigation I found out what a Hipcamp was…and as they say, the rest is future.

Our 14 acre property is a quiet oasis on several biking trails (G2G, Cottonwood Road, Trans Canada Trail) and a very short drive to famous Elora (7 min) and St. Jacobs (20 min), Elmire (10 min). There is access to several Grand River launch sites, many nearby hiking trails, and countless Mennonite farmers markets with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and preserves. This is a hidden Oasis just outside of the Waterloo and Guelph areas.
There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – great restaurants, breweries and wineries, golf courses, rivers, fishing, agri-tourism experiences, events and more.
There is really something for everyone around here.
We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night.
We have:

- A lovely composting toilet,
- Firewood for sale,
- Space for RVs,

We DON'T have potable water on site. Please bring your own water.

We strive to give you a tranquil experience in a beautiful space where you can enjoy relaxing days close to nature, have space to play games, have a paddle around the pond, or seek out the many surrounding activities.
You may encounter property owners (that's us!) and our kids enjoying a walk with their friendly dogs unleashed, picking berries, playing a game or doing yard work near your site and around the property. We hope you don't mind. We aim to give you a lot of privacy, so we aren't going to be around all the time, don't worry. But this is a shared space, that we want to enjoy alongside you and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We'll definitely say hi if we see you but we won't overstay our welcome!

The bush area has been used for camping by many local and visiting scouting groups over the years.
In 2021, we joined Hip Camp and now allow others to enjoy the beauty, peace, and challenges of camping in our bush.
The alpacas are a peaceful herd to watch as they graze their way through the day. Crias (baby alpacas), love to pronk and play in the pastures near their mothers. During May you may observe us shearing the alpacas.
June is the birthing and breeding month. They birth quickly, so watch carefully.
Tours of the farm with explanations of the fibre harvest process and opportunities to walk the alpacas are available to be booked through our website.

Park at the stream and take the bridge to your camp site equipped with gazebo, seating, picknick table and fire pit. The property is literally right across the road from the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park which boasts amazing trails, views and features the Niagara Escarpment.
The 4-acre pond/wetland is designated 'Provincially Significant' by the Ministry of Natural Resources and is an important part of the Nottawasaga Watershed.
This area is renowned for its terrain - the fields are rolling and the views are quite special.
You will enjoy a private firepit and private overlook at the pond with hammock. The site isn't visible from the road.

Located in the hamlet of Mosborough on 113 acres, this is a working farm with open fields, an old orchard, and 27 acres of forest.
We are a short drive to Guelph Lake, the Elora Gorge, Guelph to Goderich rail trail, and a 25-minute drive to St Jacob's farmers market. And a 1.4 km walk to a small country market and bakery. A great site for families that you can call home and plan day trips around the area, or hang out at the campsite. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.
We have 3 campsites that are spread out on 4 acres of grass. 1 site is used for temporary summer trailers, 2 are for camping. Pets are welcome, but keep them on a leash. Please remember to remove all garbage and recycling from campsites, a compost bin is available on site by the garden.
A portable toilet is available from May 15 to the end of thanksgiving weekend in October. And please note that we are located beside an active rail line that is used by the Go Train, VIA Rail and freighters, there are trains that pass throughout the night.
A 2 night stay is required for summer weekends.

You will have access to clean water to swim in (no soaps or detergents in the pond please, we also swim in the pond regularly so we might see you in there, the pond is about 40 meters from our house, no fishing in the pond, no camping within 30 meters of the pond), clean water to drink + wash dishes in, lots of safe flat parking for cars and camper vans, lots of safe flat grass for tents, a giant forest, views of a few beautiful horses doing their own thing on our pastures (do not feed them or go within the fenced off horse areas), loads of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and more!
We require quiet after 9pm, and before 9am. No excessive substance use please. No substance use if you are going to swim.
Private simple camping toilet/outhouse setup with view of nature. Water for washing hands. No shower.
Any garbage/recycling is your responsibility to clean up and take with you! Please do not leave any garbage for us to deal with!

The large lawn area is great for camping, campfires, playing games and relaxing while watching the horse and buggies of the local Amish and Mennonites go ambling by in a manner that speaks to a time gone by. We have now added a Bunkie that can be booked for a more comfortable camping experience. The Perth Harvest Pathway section of the G2G rail trail is quite literally in the backyard. for hiking , bird watching and biking. We have an outdoor shower and large sink in a shed attached to the rear of our garage. It is easy to identify as it has a large white x on the door. We also have a few camping items such as a grill and a few cooking pots and pans in the small shed near the G2G trail

We found this property looking for a place to stay on the way back to niagara falls on the way home to USA. We were very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the property was a beautiful sunset, very clean private area. There is a fire pit, but come prepared with firewood because there was none available on the property during our stay. If all 4 campsites were full, it could feel a little more crowded but still enough space. But on a saturday night, it was only us and one other camper. In the morning, we were given a tour of the farm by Karen who is a wonderful person and you can tell how much love her and her family have put into the farm and the animals. Karen also gave us great recommendations for local things to do like visiting the town of Paris and grabbing a sandwich at one of her recommended spots. Her recommendations kept us in the area longer as we explored what the area had to offer annie and were very pleasantly surprised to find so much beauty in this area. It's the area was safe for our dog although we did keep him leashed up the whole time because of the farm, animals on the property. Thank you, Karen for the beautiful stay, and we hope to return one day.

My husband and I had a very lovely time at the Shiloh Barn. The tent was nice and cozy, we went out for dinner and hiking near by and made dinner in the little kitchen area provided. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive.

Not a single negative thing I can say about this property. It was so clean, so easy to access and we had an absolute blast. The sound of the bullfrogs at night and the stars were beautiful. The other sites are far enough away that it gives you ample privacy. We brought my dogs and they loved swimming in the pond and being able to be off leash. I think they are still tired from the weekend. I could spend a week here and never get bored 🙂 I loveeee it!

Loved our weekend away at Tincan Ranch. Site was great, hosts were wonderful and going through all the mini campers on site was awesome! The dogs and goats were also very welcoming and Bradley Cooper came for dinner both nights we were there. Showers and potty on site. Def recommend amd would definitely return:) thanks guys for sharing your space!

A lovely drive in site on the farm next to historical buildings. We did accidentally drive to their house instead, but the host, Karen, led us through their construction yard without too much fuss. The site is well maintained, little to no bugs and the soil was easy to set up a tent on. FYI rooftop tents are also allowed!
We were offered a thorough tour of the land in the morning. My husband, Kevin, and I enjoyed learning about all that Karen was eager to share with us along with various bits of wisdom. The animals were a little wary of our fluffy doodle, Aggie, and the horses were a little rebellious as they are wont to be, but we loved our stay.
We looking forward to coming back for the sunset, some wine and company. And if we have some extra time maybe stop by Drongkowski's for their famous sandwiches!

We loved our stay for so many reasons. The main one being that this hipcamp only has ONE campsite. This ensures that we had total privacy and a quiet environment. The babbling brook, the fire pit, gazebo and outhouse was also a huge bonus. Our host, Hubrecht, always replied quickly and it was nice to meet him too. Definitely will be back!

Camping here was great. The site was nice and private. Plenty of room for me to setup. Good sized fire pit. Super large and sturdy picnic table.
But the best parts were the hosts and the alpaca!

This is my dog and my second time at Pine the Sky, we stayed at strawberrie fields bunkie again. I needed the space for personal reasons, but close enough to Joan if I needed something, she met me at the entrance and was extremely accomedating, I had beautiful sunsets, enjoyed very epic shower,s with hot water nice powerful shower head. As well. Enjoyed hikes around and through the pine forest on her property. My dog enjoyed the freedom to run and play with Joan the hosts dogs in the four days I was there. Nice size fire pit to enjoy and picnic table. Comfy funton on lower level, and large bed in loft. Bunkie has a heater and generator if needed I went end of May 2026, cool couple nights but I was warm without heat. Loved sitting down at the river she backs onto to absorb the beauty . Pine the sky is true to how host discribes her camp and only . I would highly recommend. Pine the Sky, and won't hesitate to go back a thired time, thanks Joan for your generouse hospitality, and to Sid and Onax for teaching my dog how to be a dog. Hunter had such fun running through the forest and into the frog pond. We will be back soon.

This was an amazing site and Hubrecht is a wonderful host. The stream going around the campsite is amazing. I love being by water and this was perfect. The gazebo area was great too as it provided a nice shaded area to sit in.
Hubrecht Is very responsive and excellent to deal with.
I would highly recommend this site.
