We went to the place for our first camp with my four-year-old daughter over the Thanksgiving weekend. It was so calm and peaceful. My kid loved the place and the trailer. We enjoyed the campfire, hammock and nature. Chris was so helpful and considerate.

Great Group Campsite Near Town!

Just a great bit of land for group camping. The field is healthy mowed grass and tree lined, with some woods that provide privacy and shade and cut out virtually any road noise (and make for great hammock camping). The ground is nice and essy for staking and sleeping on, and Chris and Denise have set up several fire pits that serve the need nicely. The site is set adjacent from the shop far back enough to have great privacy, and the hosts are wonderful. Strong recommend for group campouts when you want to be near enough to civilization while looking for a unique spot to stay that affords a feeling of isolation.

Sugar Shack Shanty

Fantastic little well-equipped bunkie with excellent privacy on a quiet and spacious lot! Chris and Denise were wonderful and very easygoing hosts who ensured our group had what we needed and gave us a quick tour of the site before giving us free range for the duration of our stay. The shop has an impressive array of trailers onsite to gander at while there, and the shop building bathroom was a nice luxury to have for group camping. Loved our time there, a very unique spot to spend some time.

We had a nice quiet spot on Chris' property to use as a base for exploring the Waterloo area. They had fresh water for drinking and to fill up our camper, and we had a lovely spot back by the firepit. At night the stars were amazing!

An exceptional stay with outstanding hosts. The off-leash policy was a highlight, and the resident dogs were friendly and well-behaved. The property is expansive, featuring a fascinating collection of Airstreams and Bolers to explore. Chris and his wife were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Highly recommended.

Awesome stay at TinCan Ranch, I was at the drysite. Really nice and peaceful out there, with lots of nature all around. Chis and Denise were excellent hosts, and comunicate and share lots of info about area and site. I really like that the site are nicely spaced out from each other. I would highly recommend this place. And will return for sure.

Chris and his partner were very welcoming and he gave different options on where to set up camp, which I chose a more private area. My dog loved the experience and she got to play with the other friendly dogs in the ranch. The free bundle of firewood provided was more than enough for the night. Would highly recommend!

Loved it here! Nothing better than sitting in the hammock listening to the wind in the trees. Chris and Denise are so welcoming. My site was terrific, with lots of space, a fire pit and a picnic table. Handy to lots of little towns for exploring. My dog loved having the run of the place and the resident dogs were up to play. It really is nice to stay in such a quiet place with all the amenities but not som many other campers. Thank you!

Krista’s Vintage Boler

I had a great time staying in this little trailer. It’s a cozy setup with just enough space to feel comfortable, and it’s located on a beautiful open property right next to the forest, perfect for a quiet getaway. There’s bathroom access close by and a firepit just a short walk away, which made the evenings extra relaxing. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a peaceful spot with a bit of retro charm.

Loved this little spot. The people staying here were all so kind and welcoming. And it had everything we needed for a week. Just for other people planning, the hookup on the site is not a 30amp but a 15amp. The electrical hookup still worked well for us though! I would definitely stay here again, thanks for having us!

Camping at Chris's was exactly what we were hoping for. There was nobody else camped near us and the bathroom/shower area was clean. Chris runs a business on the property that is very intriguing. His partner, whose name escapes me, was very personable. She came over to greet us in the morning and subsequently told us all about the business. You will love staying here!

Great little slice of outdoors

Our stay at Tincan Camp was amazing. Lots of space, well manicured. Various places to camp with mature trees all around for ample shade or sun. The owners were very gracious and welcoming. The shower/toilet, which is located inside the workshop building, was very clean and just a short walk from the camp area. They have a two very friendly dogs that may visit during your stay. Our pug loved playing with their Pug Boston mix. We can’t wait to visit again in the near future.

We had a fantastic time at Tincan Ranch! The kids had an absolute blast and we truly appreciate how welcoming everyone was to our group. A special thank you to Chris for making the visit even more memorable—our kids were thrilled when he brought them up to the loft to see the mommy cat and her six newborn kittens. It was such a sweet and unexpected highlight! The property is beautiful, and the trails were perfect for exploring and enjoying the outdoors. The kids also loved spending time with the owners’ pets—it really made the whole experience feel warm and homey. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you again for such a great stay!
