My two night stay at Hideaway campsite was very peaceful. As the name suggests it is tucked away in amongst the bushes and trees of what would appear to be a once logged, now back to nature, acreage. The campsite is small, a stony tent pad with a mud/grass sitting area that has a fire pit plus an old, weather-worn table and chairs... for me on my own it was fine. I wanted a place to relax in my own company. But it would not work for everyone. As is made clear, the amenities are minimal; no running/drinking water; it is a bit of a stroll to the Porta-Potty, which though clean, is the only toilet. Hideaway is not by the river, the access to which seemed to be from the other campsite, which was occupied. I enjoyed my time here, as I needed a base from which to visit Goderich. This worked well for me, I really liked seeing the stars overhead at night and being woken by the birds at first light, but had I been with my family, due to the basic nature of the site, Hideaway would not be our chosen place to camp.
