A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy. Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable pectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward. We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you. TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it. CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. The property is mostly 50 yr old pine trees with a couple walking trails throughout. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. This is our second site which is located beside the other pond. We are trying to provide total privacy for our campers. You will hear the water flowing in the pond in one ear and the water flowing out from the other ear, truly amazing. This is a huge site which you'll have all to yourselves with unlimited options for your tent set up. We have installed a small dock to provide easy access to the pond for swimming off of as well as pulling up a lawn chair and casting a bit or to drink your morning coffee and enjoy the start of your day. This is a full sun site but you can just follow the shade and take advantage of the whole site and enjoy the different scenery. This site is on a lower elevation then the other one and affords you total privacy. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us as we are a forestry managed property. Ray will provide you with fresh spring water for drinking. . Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Also, the covered bridge is there if, HEAVEN FORBID, it rains, where you can seek coverage and watch and listen to it fall. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, a hammock, and a two person swing for your added enjoyment. We promise you won't be disappointed and will have a wonderful time. Can't wait to meet you. TAKE NOTE: YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it. CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within 2 weeks of your arrival, we will NOT refund or allow you to rebook for another time in exchange for it. My friends and I spent 2 nights at piece of heaven and we absolutely loved it. We were the only campers there when we went so Terry told us we could go anywhere on the property to check it out. It was absolutely beautiful the water is crystal clear and a decent temp not too cold. Their dog hunter came down to visit us a few times and he just hung out and we didn’t even notice he was there half the time he was quiet and respectful. The outhouse was clean and didn’t stink, terry came and emptied out the dirty toilet paper in the morning which made it that much better. All that said we had a great time and would definitely recommend to a friend and will probably definitely be back next summer!

A Little Bit of Heaven!

We had such a wonderful stay at Terry and Ray’s beautiful property! It was exactly the peaceful getaway we were looking for. We were amazed by the gorgeous scenery. Our campsite was right beside the water, and the view was absolutely beautiful. It made the setting feel so peaceful and special. Terry was such a wonderful host. She came by each day to make sure we were okay and see if we needed anything, which we really appreciated. She even gave us a tour of the property, and it is absolutely gorgeous! You can see how much care Terry and Ray put into maintaining it. Their dogs were the sweetest! They were so friendly, gentle, respectful, and well behaved. They came by to say hello but never bothered our belongings or got into anything. We loved seeing them around and honestly wished we could take them home with us! The campsite and outhouse were very clean. Terry kindly asked us to place our toilet paper in the garbage rather than down the toilet, which was completely understandable given the outhouse setup. They were also kind enough to empty the trash can for us! The fire pit was perfect for enjoying a campfire and cooking our food. The town is also only about 10 minutes away, with grocery stores, food and anything else you might need. We honestly wished we had booked more days! This was such a much-needed getaway, and we left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and completely rejuvenated. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Terry and Ray, for being such wonderful hosts! ❤️

My wife and I had a great time at Terry and Rays place. The island site was awesome! There was a tone of space to set up the tent, screened dining tent, hammocks and outdoor kitchen. Great mix of open space, while still being covered and shaded. Felt private (like we were way out in the woods). The spring water was clean and clear. Great swimming and fishing spots. It was nice to get visits from dogs Hunter and Tucker. They are extremely well behaved! Ray brought us spring water daily, and wood as we needed it. Great spot to be one with nature. We will be back next year for sure!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Terry and Ray were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive hosts. The property was beautiful and offered such an amazing variety of landscapes to enjoy. We especially loved having access to the canoe and inflatable boat to explore the lake. The water was crystal clear, and the whole place was peaceful, private, and perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. The bathrooms were also very clean and well maintained, which made the stay even more comfortable. The only small issue we experienced was with their dog, Hunter, who managed to sneak in and help himself to some of our food—especially our meat—on two occasions while we were out walking. 😅 He definitely knows how to find a good meal! It was a minor inconvenience and honestly the only negative thing we experienced during an otherwise amazing stay. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and private getaway surrounded by nature. Thank you, Terry and Ray, for such a wonderful experience!

The perfect little getaway

Terry and Ray were so welcoming and attentive since the moment we arrived. Always making sure we were set up with enough water and fire wood! The property is beautiful and private. The water for swimming was crystal clear and so refreshing. You can tell the amount of work and love they have poured into the site and their property! My partner and I had a wonderful time and could not recommend this spot more to other campers! We enjoyed every moment of this little getaway and will definitely be returning. We did lots of fishing and lots of swimming! Sitting around the fire at night just taking in the beautiful nature around us was just what we were looking for! Thank you for sharing your property with us and making sure we had a great time!

Aggressive host interaction- unsafe

Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant and frightening experience. Starting with the positives, the campsite is beautiful, with lovely natural surroundings. Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by a very aggressive interaction with the hosts. After a misunderstanding involving the use of a floaty and a single piece of toilet paper that was accidentally dropped into the outhouse, the host entered our campsite yelling, swearing, and accusing us. We were later told the host has difficulty controlling their emotions. We acknowledged the mistake and took responsibility. However, during the confrontation, the host tossed poop bags toward us while yelling, “You’re going to dig out that toilet paper from the shit yourself.” This was utterly shocking, unacceptable, and left our group feeling frightened and unsafe for the rest of our stay. We were also uncomfortable learning that snapping turtles live in the pond, including one the hosts said had injured a child before! The hosts suggested we catch the turtle ourselves so it could be removed for our safety. We did so, and later learned they shot it. Finally, the hosts came into our campsite multiple times each day and often stayed for extended periods. we felt it was intrusive and significantly reduced our privacy. We wouldn’t recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful, private, and safe experience. Aggressive behaviour is never justified, and we are still shocked by the way we were treated.

Terrible stay. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. What was advertised as “a piece of heaven” turned out to be a place of hell. When we arrived, the hosts told us the pond couldn’t be used because of a snapping turtle that had attacked a child. This was never disclosed before our stay. They said that if we caught the turtle, we could use the floaty for free. Later, they killed the turtle with a gun. Knowing the owners had guns on the property and were using them while guests were staying there made us feel very unsafe. The next day, Terri came to our campsite yelling, swearing, and accusing us of spreading lies about permission to use the floaty. We were in complete shock. The whole situation was aggressive, intimidating, and completely ruined the atmosphere. Ray also frequently invited himself into our campsite for cigarettes and beers, even though we never asked to socialize with the owners. He also made the comment “I don’t like people, and I don’t like to shoot them either.” Whether it was a joke or not, it was very scary considering everything that had happened. Their dog constantly wandered into our campsite. While their policy allows off-leash dogs, that only works when owners keep them under control. Even after they knew our dog didn’t get along with theirs, they still let it happen. Overall, this was a stressful, uncomfortable, and honestly scary experience. Stay away from this place and the people who run it

This place was absolutely amazing and truly one of the most secluded and peaceful stays we’ve had. We loved every moment here because it gave us the perfect escape to relax and enjoy nature. The view of the pond was beautiful, with clear water and the option to enjoy fishing, which added even more to the relaxing experience. Terry and Ray were such wonderful hosts. Even though the property is very secluded, they made sure we were doing well by stopping by from time to time just to check in and have a little chat. Those 5–10 minute visits were such a nice touch because it made us feel welcomed while still giving us the privacy and peacefulness we came for. The place itself was beautiful, and everything was thoughtfully prepared. The floater and the lights Terry created were such wonderful additions and made the experience even more special. The firewood from Ray was some of the best we’ve ever used it was so dry, easy to light, and he provided more than enough along with kindling, so we didn’t have to worry about keeping the fire going. Having drinkable water available was also a huge plus. Overall, our stay was beyond what we expected. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and amazing hospitality made this place unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back, bring our friends, and enjoy another relaxing getaway here. Highly recommended! And BTW ITS SUPER CLEAN ESPECIALLY THE OUTHOUSE!

This was first time using Hipcamp and we chose Terry’s Dockside campsite for the weekend of July 24th. It was such an awesome spot to camp. Directions for driving are clear, site is easily accessible by 2WD cars (I drove my Honda Civic); On arrival we were greeted Terry and Ray (and their dog Hunter) who were super friendly and clear about house rules. We had a group of 11, but the dockside site can easily be shared by a group 2-3x as large. It wraps around a pond where you have a dock on one side and a large trimmed grass lawn area on the other for isolation. This is where we set up our tents. Water was clear and cool, fish were fun to catch and release, and they had a gigantic floating island and some floaties available for use. The other camp site they own is right beside this one, however total privacy is maintained. Some sound overflow between sites is present only with loud music/yelling. Firewood was provided at $25/day. Fresh spring water was provided for free. Terry and Ray were very responsive via text and willing to offer supplies that we might have missed. Bring flashlights and some headlights/lamps if you want to see better in the dark. The site is huge. Also lots of deer flies and mosquitos! The town of Hanover was only 15 minutes away by car. Thank you Terry and Ray for your kindness and welcoming stay. I would definitely recommend this site to anybody I know.

If you are looking for a peaceful place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect place for you. The hosts welcomed us very warmly and gave us a tour of the entire property. The grounds are incredibly spacious and beautiful, making this place perfect for a family getaway or anyone looking to relax, enjoy nature, and take a break from the stress of everyday life. You can swim in the pond, which is fed by a natural spring and has crystal-clear, refreshing water. On a hot day, there is nothing better! You can also go fishing (catch and release) and prepare something delicious over the campfire. The evenings here are truly special. Sitting by the campfire with a warm cup of tea creates such a cozy and unforgettable atmosphere. We highly recommend this place! A huge thank you to the hosts for their warm welcome and wonderful hospitality. This is definitely a place we would love to return to again and again.

Terry and Ray's little island is a lovely, low-effort getaway for car campers. It was really convenient to have ample firewood, potable water, an outhouse, and a cooking table all provided – it meant we only had to show up with our tent, sleeping stuff, cooking gear, and food. The island has beautiful afternoon light, fireflies and turtles, and cedar trees. Know that this isn't the most remote spot; you may be able to hear the campers at the next site over, and we found the pond a bit too shallow for a good swim (though lovely for a little dip and to watch watch the fish spawning). Terry and Ray are full of stories and extremely hospitable and brought us things we forgot, like salt and plates!

Real hidden gem. Terry and Roy are amazing hosts, they do their best to accommodate you. Our dog couldn't believe her luck, running freely, swimming, playing with another furry host Hunter. Ideal spot if you want total privacy and engagement with nature. So peaceful and beautiful. Also there are many places to visit and swim in proximity of 29-40 min drive. Definitely will be back. Crystal spring paradise

A buddy and I visited this past weekend for 2 nights. We had such a great time. The island oasis site was gorgeous, well shaded and a nice pond surrounding it for swimming. The site was well secluded and provided both privacy and scenery. Not far from the site was my favourite spot, the natural spring. Incredibly clear and great ice cold drinking water. It is a must see! Terry and Ray were wonderful hosts, very accommodating, and full of stories. The outhouse was clean and rather cozy. They provided plenty of wood for the $25 and a big jug of that clear spring water. The string lights around the fire provided little lighting but the fire and fireflies provided enough. A great spot for stargazing and getting away from the busy city. 10/10 would absolutely return.

We had a wonderful stay overall. The property is incredibly serene, private, and very spacious, with plenty of flat ground for multiple tents, shelters, and a comfortable campsite setup. The mature trees provided lots of shade, making it a great place to relax on hot days. The true gem of the property is the spring-fed pond. The water was crystal clear, incredibly refreshing, and easily one of the nicest places we've ever swum. The fishing was also excellent (catch and release), which added to the experience. The fire pit is thoughtfully located and well built, making it easy to cook over the fire and enjoy evenings around camp. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. One thing to note is that the covered bridge advertised as a place to spend time during bad weather was damaged over the winter and is currently not usable as a shelter. It sounds like there are plans to repair it, but at the time of our visit it wasn't available. There are also quite a few old tree stumps throughout the campsite. They weren't a major issue for us, but they're something to be aware of when choosing where to set up. We found that sleeping on air mattresses made it easy to camp comfortably. Overall, if you're looking for a peaceful, spacious property with beautiful swimming, good fishing, and plenty of room to spread out, this is a great spot to spend a few days.

Island Oasis I highly recommend this camp site. Terry and Ray are amazing hosts very friendly and they make sure everything is always ready before you arrive. This was my third time staying at this site and it won’t be my last! I’ve camped here in the summer and in the fall this site is well shaded and protected with trees but still always get a good breeze on hot summer days. But you can cool off in the beautiful spring fed pond. 10/10 couldn’t recommend this place enough! Will be back in fall :)

My family had an awesome time camping on Terry's property! The spring fed pond is crystal clear and so clean!! They were very friendly and gracious hosts who came to check in on us and make sure we had everything we needed like firewood, fresh water from the spring and so much more.
