Our 14 acre property is a quiet oasis on several biking trails (G2G, Cottonwood Road, Trans Canada Trail) and a very short drive to famous Elora (7 min) and St. Jacobs (20 min), Elmire (10 min). There is access to several Grand River launch sites, many nearby hiking trails, and countless Mennonite farmers markets with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and preserves. This is a hidden Oasis just outside of the Waterloo and Guelph areas.
There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – great restaurants, breweries and wineries, golf courses, rivers, fishing, agri-tourism experiences, events and more.
There is really something for everyone around here.
We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night.
We have:

A couple notes about the property:
We strive to give you a tranquil experience in a beautiful space where you can enjoy relaxing days close to nature, have space to play games, have a paddle around the pond, or seek out the many surrounding activities.
You may encounter property owners (that's us!) and our kids enjoying a walk with their friendly dogs unleashed, picking berries, playing a game or doing yard work near your site and around the property. We hope you don't mind. We aim to give you a lot of privacy, so we aren't going to be around all the time, don't worry. But this is a shared space, that we want to enjoy alongside you and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We'll definitely say hi if we see you but we won't overstay our welcome!

There are three sites on the property,
All of them are just a short drive from two local beaches. Bass Road Beach is a rocky beach with deep water, while Silversides Point Road Beach offers a sandy shoreline with shallow water that gradually deepens.
There's also a public boat launch across the road from my house—it's the next driveway up.
Magic Forest Site
To access this site, park on the right side of my driveway and follow the trail for about 2 minutes. The site is fairly spacious and includes tables, chairs, a fire pit (I have a burn permit—just let me know if you'd like to use it!), a portable camp toilet, a camp shower, a tent, and screened hammocks (available throughout the summer if you'd like to use them).
The surrounding area is somewhat marshy, so be sure to bring bug spray.
Turtle Pond Nest Site
To access this site, park on the other side of my property, just past the Brakenfor Turtles sign and before my main driveway at 156. The site includes a fire pit (burn permit available—just let me know!), a tent area, and overlooks a peaceful turtle pond.
This site backs onto a swamp, so bug spray is highly recommended. It's suitable for a small RV, but please note that there are no septic hookups. I may be able to provide electricity depending on the extension cord needed. Water is available from a hose, and it's about a 2-minute walk from my driveway to the site.
Butterfly Garden Site
Located closer to my house, this site offers a surprising amount of privacy despite its location. It is the most shaded site I have and there is a fire pit and small tables, but it is the most barren campsite I have , where you’ll have to do most of your set up yourself. Follow the red cedar path!
I live on the property and am happy to help with anything you need. You can charge your devices at my house, and I can run a hose close to either campsite if you need water. I'm also very familiar with the area and can recommend great hikes, help you book time at the national park, and share other local tips. Just ask!

A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy.
Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim.
We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is.
Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable
pectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing.
Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking.
New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats
There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward.
We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you.
TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it.
CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Some finds are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. Enjoy your stay in a treehouse in our cedar forest. There are multiple trails surrounding the treehouse, including a pond where you can feed the fish. We also have lots of farm cats and kittens. We are a small hobby farm set within a mature forest setting. There are two, newly built tiny home bunkies that are situated in private areas of our property, yet close enough to our main house for security, Each bunkie has a modern outhouse with composting toilets and non potable water for washing
Guests will have the opportunity to commune with nature as we have a multitude of bird species and there is always good possibilities of wildlife viewing, as guests stroll down the nature trails. There are plenty of very cool areas along the trail where guests are able to participate in forest bathing/meditation or can just relax and listen to the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees.
We have a couple of very gentle horses on our farm, that if anyone wishes, can schedule a time meet them and do some therapy grooming. There is also a small flock of egg laying hens that are quite social.
We have a small on site store, which has some beautiful wood crafts that are created in our woodworking shop. Live-edge wood tables/charcuterie boards and other beautiful pieces as well as a large display of gorgeous healing crystals and metaphysical items are available for purchase if that's your interest.
We are less than a 10 minute drive to Bobcaygeon, where you can find the world famous Kawartha Dairy, scrumptious restaurants, specialty clothing boutiques, grocery stores and pharmacies. Sturgeon Lake is the predominate lake with fabulous fishing/boating/ swimming. A 20 minute drive will get you to Fenelon Falls, Buckhorn or Kinmount where you will find the famous Kinmount Movie Theater that have the latest movies available. The Canadian Rail Trail is also nearby for anyone that wants to do some biking/hiking.

What an amazing experience !! Angela and Luke are such great hosts with a beautiful property ! Was such a great escape from the city life. Conviently close to Walmart Canadian Tire Dollarama and more. Thank you again for helping with the tent and bringing down the wood. Very friendly helpful and just a 10/10 expeirence. It was my nephews first time camping and he absolutely loved it . We fished, saw some cute little blue crayfish, went on a relaxing walk surrounded by nature and the river, went in the water just enjoyed nature. No light pollution, no noise pollution just the sounds of nature. Overall had the perfect time although it did rain a bit while we were there but didnt matter we just got some ponchos from Canadian Tire 5 minutes down the street. Definitely will be back. Thank you again so much for sharing your property with us.

We had the best time camping at Dan’s Creekside site 3. It was at the end of the property so it felt very private and had a gorgeous view. There was even a little trail to the water right next to our campsite. Dan was very kind and checked with us if we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

We had a blast camping at beaver ranch! The sounds of the water were so calming. Although our site didnt have direct water access since we were the only campers during the week we got to explore all the sites. The water was quiet cold but very refreshing! We were able to purchase some firewood which luke came and delivered to us, thank you so much! We got to see lots of birds and fish. Very thankful we got the site we did as it rained for two days and we were able to pitch a tarp between the trees to stay dry. Angela and luke were super friendly and answered any questions we had. What a lovely spot! I will be back again!!

We had such a wonderful stay at Terry and Ray’s beautiful property! It was exactly the peaceful getaway we were looking for. We were amazed by the gorgeous scenery. Our campsite was right beside the water, and the view was absolutely beautiful. It made the setting feel so peaceful and special.
Terry was such a wonderful host. She came by each day to make sure we were okay and see if we needed anything, which we really appreciated. She even gave us a tour of the property, and it is absolutely gorgeous! You can see how much care Terry and Ray put into maintaining it.
Their dogs were the sweetest! They were so friendly, gentle, respectful, and well behaved. They came by to say hello but never bothered our belongings or got into anything. We loved seeing them around and honestly wished we could take them home with us!
The campsite and outhouse were very clean. Terry kindly asked us to place our toilet paper in the garbage rather than down the toilet, which was completely understandable given the outhouse setup. They were also kind enough to empty the trash can for us! The fire pit was perfect for enjoying a campfire and cooking our food. The town is also only about 10 minutes away, with grocery stores, food and anything else you might need.
We honestly wished we had booked more days! This was such a much-needed getaway, and we left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and completely rejuvenated. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Terry and Ray, for being such wonderful hosts! ❤️

My wife and I had a great time at Terry and Rays place. The island site was awesome! There was a tone of space to set up the tent, screened dining tent, hammocks and outdoor kitchen. Great mix of open space, while still being covered and shaded. Felt private (like we were way out in the woods). The spring water was clean and clear. Great swimming and fishing spots. It was nice to get visits from dogs Hunter and Tucker. They are extremely well behaved! Ray brought us spring water daily, and wood as we needed it. Great spot to be one with nature. We will be back next year for sure!

We just love the space and privacy. We rented both sites for a family get together. Lots of room whether you trailer or tent. The outhouses are great! We saw deer, cows, turkeys and Canada Geese. Lisa is so amazing to deal with and made sure we were being taken care of should any issues come about. The only issue we had was rain but can't blame Lisa for that LOL! Thanks again Lisa!

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods
Natalie's land is beautiful - from the nature, the access to water, the animal sightseeing... We loved the land upon arrival. Natalie is sweet, kind and truly has put so much effort into making this place feel like home, especially for our dog. We didn't want to leave! The Bunkie had everything we needed, thoughtfully decorated, and what a gorgeous view from the deck - we even had a private fire pit at back. The outhouse was clean and well maintained. We will for sure be coming back!

Another lovely stay - this is an annual retreat for me now. Having stayed at both the Boot Hill and Field of Dreams sites, I can say they're both very well-appointed. This year we really appreciated the fireplace-style campfire grill, as it allowed us to enjoy our fire in the rain. Exploring the falls and river were the highlight of our stay. Our host even brought us some freshly-picked tomatoes! It was just the relaxing weekend we needed. See you next year, Field of Dreams :)

We really enjoyed this spot! It was clean, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful flowers. The river was beautiful too, with lots of people kayaking and tubing. Luke stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. One of our favorite camping spots so far!

To start Angela and Luke are great Hosts who I have enjoyed meeting. Angela worked with me to change my date because of rain. This was my 3rd trip and come for the Quiet camping over loud Conservation Camping. Up to now everything had been peaceful. Until last night next to the Dam Spot there is a Permanent Trailer that had people arrive at 6 PM as soon as it became dark 9PM the music got turned up. There Dog was Barking The Voices and Music continued until 1 AM there was no effort to lower there voices and in fact it got louder. Keep in mind if you rent the dam spot expect loud noise from these people. It really is a peaceful place, Unfortunately some people thing they can do what ever they want.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Terry and Ray were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive hosts. The property was beautiful and offered such an amazing variety of landscapes to enjoy. We especially loved having access to the canoe and inflatable boat to explore the lake. The water was crystal clear, and the whole place was peaceful, private, and perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature.
The bathrooms were also very clean and well maintained, which made the stay even more comfortable.
The only small issue we experienced was with their dog, Hunter, who managed to sneak in and help himself to some of our food—especially our meat—on two occasions while we were out walking. 😅 He definitely knows how to find a good meal! It was a minor inconvenience and honestly the only negative thing we experienced during an otherwise amazing stay.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and private getaway surrounded by nature. Thank you, Terry and Ray, for such a wonderful experience!

Stayed during the week and we were the only campers on the site. Beauty spot right on the bank of the Saugeen River. The property was neat and exactly as it was described. No problem with directions and would recommend it for sure!
