Our 14 acre property is a quiet oasis on several biking trails (G2G, Cottonwood Road, Trans Canada Trail) and a very short drive to famous Elora (7 min) and St. Jacobs (20 min), Elmire (10 min). There is access to several Grand River launch sites, many nearby hiking trails, and countless Mennonite farmers markets with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and preserves. This is a hidden Oasis just outside of the Waterloo and Guelph areas.
There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – great restaurants, breweries and wineries, golf courses, rivers, fishing, agri-tourism experiences, events and more.
There is really something for everyone around here.
We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night.
We have:

A couple notes about the property:
We strive to give you a tranquil experience in a beautiful space where you can enjoy relaxing days close to nature, have space to play games, have a paddle around the pond, or seek out the many surrounding activities.
You may encounter property owners (that's us!) and our kids enjoying a walk with their friendly dogs unleashed, picking berries, playing a game or doing yard work near your site and around the property. We hope you don't mind. We aim to give you a lot of privacy, so we aren't going to be around all the time, don't worry. But this is a shared space, that we want to enjoy alongside you and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We'll definitely say hi if we see you but we won't overstay our welcome!

Our Farm is located on the very edge of the Canadian Shield, so most of the landscape is a rocky, rugged, and naturally wooded. Throughout the property are numerous short, looping, walking trails that meander throughout the Sugar bush, pasture area, 3 season pond, and our farm animal "homes". These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers and plants, see and hear song birds, small animal wildlife and of course, farm life too.
We are also located on the edge of the Eastern Ontario "Dark Sky" Area, which means we have a very nice view from the edge of our pasture of the North Sky stars on a clear night, with very minimal light pollution.
Our varied collection of farm animals includes; lots of chickens, (including roosters who DO crow in the early morning hours), miniature goats, horses, a couple of barn cats, and a dog.
During your stay with us you are welcome to come learn about and interact with our animals and daily farm life, if you so desire, and farm fresh eggs, maple syrup, local honey, and homemade baked goods, are also available to purchase too. (check out our "Extras" Section at booking page.

A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy.
Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim.
We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is.
Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable
pectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing.
Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking.
New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats
There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward.
We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you.
TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it.
CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.
Google Earth shows it better.
There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse
Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge.
This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush.
We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter.
Four-wheel-drive is required for access in the winter!

A fully covered pavilion is available for your use, in case it rains. Recycling and garbage cans are provided.
Feel free to bring your own canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards.
For insurance and liability reasons, guests are not permitted to use boats belonging to the property. Any guest use of the water or personal watercraft is entirely at their own risk, and the property owners accept no liability for injury, loss, or damages of any kind.

Terry and Ray's land was the best we have been too. The dockside site was really spacious and private. The pond was great to swim in and fish. Terry and Ray were great hosts, they always made sure we were okay and had what we needed. We will definitely be coming back.

We were given coordinates vs an actual address from Hipcamp but it was not accurate at all. Please communicate with the host re: getting an actual address. However when we finally arrived, we were provided a flat campsite for our tent in a wonderful forest that was shaded and private. However there was plenty of noise from cars, trucks and motorcycles from the road nearby. We didn’t mind but if you are looking for a campsite that is totally quiet then this campsite might not be for you.
The river was very close by but inaccessible for a swim or even to put your toe in it. A canoe is available but with only one paddle and one lifejacket. This was also a disappointment. There is a lovely sauna but we were asked to provide our own wood. No big deal but it wasn’t mentioned in the listing. Jenna was truly a lovely hostess but we would have appreciated a more accurate listing.

We had a wonderful stay overall. The property is incredibly serene, private, and very spacious, with plenty of flat ground for multiple tents, shelters, and a comfortable campsite setup. The mature trees provided lots of shade, making it a great place to relax on hot days.
The true gem of the property is the spring-fed pond. The water was crystal clear, incredibly refreshing, and easily one of the nicest places we've ever swum. The fishing was also excellent (catch and release), which added to the experience.
The fire pit is thoughtfully located and well built, making it easy to cook over the fire and enjoy evenings around camp. The hosts were friendly and welcoming.
One thing to note is that the covered bridge advertised as a place to spend time during bad weather was damaged over the winter and is currently not usable as a shelter. It sounds like there are plans to repair it, but at the time of our visit it wasn't available.
There are also quite a few old tree stumps throughout the campsite. They weren't a major issue for us, but they're something to be aware of when choosing where to set up. We found that sleeping on air mattresses made it easy to camp comfortably.
Overall, if you're looking for a peaceful, spacious property with beautiful swimming, good fishing, and plenty of room to spread out, this is a great spot to spend a few days.

I highly recommend this camp site.
Terry and Ray are amazing hosts very friendly and they make sure everything is always ready before you arrive.
This was my third time staying at this site and it won’t be my last!
I’ve camped here in the summer and in the fall this site is well shaded and protected with trees but still always get a good breeze on hot summer days. But you can cool off in the beautiful spring fed pond.
10/10 couldn’t recommend this place enough!
Will be back in fall :)

I had a great weekend camping at Jenna’s Hipcamp spot. I have a travel trailer and we still had great privacy and electrical, with my dogs off leash running and access to the river all day. I would come back, and recommend this spot to people looking for a chill calm and private weekend.

The Hidden Oasis exceeded expectations. Super beautiful land, quiet and remote feeling while still being close enough to the city. Everyone was super friendly including the other guests. Brought our dog camping for the first time here and we think it was a great spot to experience it at due to its quiet nature.

This is a really nice property. Very flat, lots of space to set up. There was no shade where we were, we had beautiful weather but very hot with no shade. We actually went out and bought a shade tent for the kids to play under. Compost toilets were in good condition, although getting pretty full. The firewood was great, nice firepit. Overall a nice space.

Jamie made our check in super easy. The bathroom facilities (with soap and water) were new and clean. There was a huge gazebo to hide from the elements. It was incredible to wake up looking over Lake Ontario.

4 nights at Highland Farms N Stables
We are long time tenters, but this year we decided to try something different and we found this campground with the mini cabins. I will stay here at the outset that we enjoyed this place very much and we stayed for six nights. The cabins are very well kept and clean and also very private. Fortunately for us, there were no other campers on site when we were there but even if the campsite were full you would still have plenty of privacy. The owners are also super friendly and helpful.
We felt that the location was very Central to all of the other day activities that we carried out. We were able to visit several provincial parks during our stay and used this campsite as our base. We earlier had purchased a season pass for the provincial parks which paid for itself after just a few days. You can drive in several directions from this campsite and enjoy wonderful scenery, as well as several provincial parks. A brief ride into Bancroft if you want to re-enter civilization for a while and grab a quick coffee. Bancroft also has a wonderful little park right in the middle of town.
Maynooth itself has several nice little shops that you can pick up some souvenirs or other essential items. Locals are warm and friendly.
Bring extra water with you or pick it up at the entrance on the way into the campsite. Also, the mattress in the bed area may not be to everyone's liking and you may need some extra padding,so keep that in mind.
We highly recommend this place.

Susan and Brent were very kind and hospitable. The camp site was just private enough that if you're looking for solitude, you can have it. But there is also a shared space nearby if you're looking to be social. The property is also covered in thick forest so there was plenty of space for hiking and bird watching. I'll be back soon.

We had the greatest time! The pond was beautiful and the frogs serenaded us to sleep and gently awoke us in the morning. I peddle boated my little puppy around and she chewed goose feathers to her hearts content. Can’t wait to come back again soon!
