Our 50 acre parcel would have comprised much of the maple bush for the original 400 acre farm property. The stone fence rows and laneways lined with large boulders are remnants from the days or horse drawn carriages, likely put in place hundreds of years ago. In addition to the maple bush there are several acres of cedar bush, open wild flower meadows, as well as fields dotted with larger shade-giving trees. A small half acre of the property is used to farm fresh cut flowers which you are welcome to visit. We also have a kitchen garden, 10 egg-laying hens, 2 very friendly outdoor cats, and our black lab Abby who will likely greet you with a bark (she is very friendly). In the summer months you can enjoy a handful of lakes for swimming and boating all within 10-15 minutes of our property. We are happy to share details and locations. We are conveniently located just off of Highway 10, ten minutes north of Markdale and 25 minutes south of Owen Sound. If you are headed north to Tobermory, we are a perfect mid way point if coming from Toronto, with Tobermory just an hour and a half north of us.

The land is framed by the historic Bruce Trail to the north, Billy Bishop airport (only a few small prop-private flights daily) to the west, Concession 6 N on the East, and Highway 26 on the south end of the property. There is a forest on the north end of our land where the bruce trail runs through (C) and the farm sits more to the south end (A). There's a pine-forest that one has to hike into (B- see map in photos). Generally, the area is close to swimming in Lake Huron, the property is large (100 hectares) and the neighborhood is large grain. This means you can have a chunk of the forest all to yourself. For area A you can drive in the main driveway and park by the house/ barn or on the field. Or walk to a camping spot. No 4 wheel drive is necessary. Please stay away from the Barn as it is dangerous to be close by. For area C you can access the fields from Concession 6 N at one of the gates past (North) of the driveway. You will need a 4-wheel drive to not get stuck in the field. Please do not park on the agricultural field. For area B You will park your car behind a gate right off Highway 26 and hike in to find a site to pitch a tent. There are about 3 spots for cars behind the first set of Pines. You might need a 4-wheel drive. It's completely up to you where you set up camp. We ask that you do not light any open fires as this is a coniferous forest. Feel free to walk in as far you want to find your spot. If you walk too far you will come up to a field and the farmhouse. We ask that you do not camp on the agricultural fields.

We are a 10-minute drive from Kinghurst Forest, which is 370 hectares of old-growth forest designated as an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest (ANSI). Centrally located, just south of the Bruce Peninsula -- you will be perfectly situated for day trips to Georgian Bay or Lake Huron. The sandy beaches of Port Elgin, Southampton or Sauble Beach are a 40-minute drive. Access points to the Saugeen River for fishing/paddling are also nearby. LOGISTICS We are a short bike ride away from the town of Williamsford, which contains a sprawling bookstore/café in an old mill, the famous Williamsford Pie Company, and a well-stocked convenience store (LCBO Licensed). Lake Huron is a pristine great lake and we offer great beaches within 20 minute drive... Our settings are perfect for small or large gatherings and are private and secluded. Unfortunately we do not offer water, septic or hydro so your trailer needs to be self sustaining. TRAILERS and MOTORHOMES are the preferred method of camping. Once upon a time this property consisted of an 18 acre apple orchard and a 10 acre Maple Sugar bush with evidence of it scattered about the property. I have owned the property for over 16 years now, and moved here from Toronto about 4 years ago, living in nature has become my life. The property is full of Wild life and history. The 18 acre orchard was turned into a white pine forest about 40 years ago and has recently been thinned out to promote healthy growth. Bee hives have recently become part of the life that exists here. The area is surrounded by a Mennonite community and the Amish are also within a 15 minute drive from here. On the map you will see that this property is a part of the original Queen's bush. The highest point in the township with amazing views all around. Please contact me to discuss length of time and cost. Our 360 acres is located in Paisley Ontario in the Township of Bruce. We have 5 multi-acre sites for Boondock camping that offer beautiful breezes off of Lake Huron and quiet private pastoral settings. Each site is groomed and offers a fire pit. You can bring up to 7 trailers into each site for a multi-trailer experience. We have approx 15 km of groomed trails to hike, trail run, walk all through Bruce County. We are close to numerous quaint Ontario towns and villages offering shops, bakeries, restaurants and more. The Saugeen River is located very close to the properties and you can rent kayaks in Paisley and go down the river towards Lake Huron. Lake Huron is a pristine great lake and we offer great beaches within 20 minute drive... Our settings are perfect for small or large gatherings and are private and secluded. Unfortunately we do not offer water, septic or hydro so your trailer needs to be self sustaining. TRAILERS and MOTORHOMES are the preferred method of camping. It is being used for Boondocking, weddings, mediation and yoga retreats and we look forward to hosting you also soon. We are pet friendly...so bring your four legged family members too!

We had a great time staying at Camp Kyle. Natalie was very friendly and inviting. The Cabin and outhouse were very clean. There was an outdoor kitchen available with propane burners/grill. Great for heating up or making a meal. A large fire pit and plenty of outdoor space surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The wood stove inside the cabin was a perfect addition as we were able to stay warm during the night. Thank you for sharing your land with us.

This was a magical and tranquil camping escape. The waterfront spot was perfectly quiet and peaceful. The clear skies and zero light pollution provided phenomenal stargazing nightly. Chris was very generous host. He provided us an abundant and complimentary supply of firewood. It made our evenings effortless and cozy. We will definitely return!

My partner and I stayed at Emily’s Yurt this past thanksgiving weekend 2025 as a last minute booking. Emily accommodated our stay and was very quick to respond. The yurt was stunning, we’ve stayed at many hip camps and this was by far the best experience. From a eco friendly outhouse with a wood chip system, very clean and well stocked with necessities. The yurt had all supplies needed, along with many games and other activities to do. Can’t thank Emily enough for sharing her beautiful property and being so welcoming.

What a lovely weekend we had at Ivan's property 😀 He's a wealth of knowledge about native fruit trees & berries. The front of the property has an extensive orchard that Ivan has worked on for ten years. Check his booth out at the Meaford Farmers market if you have the chance! The campsite was in a lush grassy area neighboring a cover crop plot that provided lovely views. An old fire pit was provided and we made good use of it. The farm is close to town and you can easily make a visit to owen sound/ thornbury/ Collingwood to flesh out a full weekend trip. We had a blast and highly recommend 👌

The place is nice. Very quiet. One hiccup we had no hydro for the 4 days we were there. Hydro line was malfunctioning and needed a electrician to come fix it. A good thing we had our generator, extra fuel on board. Hopefully next time things will be better. Ps Not a swimming spot! just paddle boarding or kayaking if you don't mind marsh waters to get to bigger waters to swim.

Learn more about this land:This comfortable and spacious yurt is located on the 30-acre property of the historic Paisley Mill along the Teeswater river. With three large windows, a dome skylight, and wool felt insulation, the yurt provides a wonderful "glamping" experience. There is a double bed and a single bed in the yurt along with a cooler, table, chairs, and storage space. In the future there will be solar power, but right now the lighting available is by a battery powered lantern (provided). Next to the yurt is a picnic table, fire pit, and a sawdust toilet. There are basic utensils, plates, bowls, pots and pans available in the yurt. Bring your own: camp stove, water, bedding, pillows Important to Note: The only heating source is a wood stove. You need to be comfortable using a wood stove safely to stay at this yurt. While the yurt site only a short distance from the main mill residence, it is secluded and offers a beautiful private camping space. The town of Paisley is only a 10 minute walk from the yurt.
