Outside, you'll find a covered kitchen and dining area and a large open firepit for long evenings beneath the stars. Raven Hollow is intentionally rustic. This isn't a resort tucked into the woods... the woods are the experience. Expect wildlife, changing weather, dirt beneath your boots, dark skies, crackling fires and all the little sounds that come with sleeping in a forest. And while the Hollow can feel wonderfully far away from everything, you aren't. Chesley is about 10 minutes away and Hanover about 20, with hiking, waterfalls, beaches, swimming, fishing, small towns and plenty more to explore throughout the surrounding area. There are also lots of backroads and opportunities for ATV and side-by-side adventures nearby. Dogs are very welcome, but must remain leashed at all times while exploring Raven Hollow. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. There are three sites on the property, All of them are just a short drive from two local beaches. Bass Road Beach is a rocky beach with deep water, while Silversides Point Road Beach offers a sandy shoreline with shallow water that gradually deepens. There's also a public boat launch across the road from my house—it's the next driveway up. Magic Forest Site To access this site, park on the right side of my driveway and follow the trail for about 2 minutes. The site is fairly spacious and includes tables, chairs, a fire pit (I have a burn permit—just let me know if you'd like to use it!), a portable camp toilet, a camp shower, a tent, and screened hammocks (available throughout the summer if you'd like to use them). The surrounding area is somewhat marshy, so be sure to bring bug spray. Turtle Pond Nest Site To access this site, park on the other side of my property, just past the Brakenfor Turtles sign and before my main driveway at 156. The site includes a fire pit (burn permit available—just let me know!), a tent area, and overlooks a peaceful turtle pond. This site backs onto a swamp, so bug spray is highly recommended. It's suitable for a small RV, but please note that there are no septic hookups. I may be able to provide electricity depending on the extension cord needed. Water is available from a hose, and it's about a 2-minute walk from my driveway to the site. Butterfly Garden Site Located closer to my house, this site offers a surprising amount of privacy despite its location. It is the most shaded site I have and there is a fire pit and small tables, but it is the most barren campsite I have , where you’ll have to do most of your set up yourself. Follow the red cedar path! I live on the property and am happy to help with anything you need. You can charge your devices at my house, and I can run a hose close to either campsite if you need water. I'm also very familiar with the area and can recommend great hikes, help you book time at the national park, and share other local tips. Just ask! I look forward to welcoming you!

The bunkie is bright and spacious, and steps from the public washroom and parking lot. There are no indoor cooking facilities guaranteed, although we are laid back, friendly people and so just ask! We also have a bbq and outdoor tap. The bunkie is in front of our family cottage in the beachfront area of Southampton. Cottages are close together so you may see / hear the hosts and neighbours as they come and go, or walk along the boardwalk, but it is a quiet and peaceful spot. This is a novel situation good for inexpensive short term rentals in an otherwise expensive town without public campgrounds. Looking for quiet friendly renters. Why sleep in a van or tent when you can have a bed in a bunkie with a fridge and a fan!?

Our 50 acre parcel would have comprised much of the maple bush for the original 400 acre farm property. The stone fence rows and laneways lined with large boulders are remnants from the days or horse drawn carriages, likely put in place hundreds of years ago. In addition to the maple bush there are several acres of cedar bush, open wild flower meadows, as well as fields dotted with larger shade-giving trees. A small half acre of the property is used to farm fresh cut flowers which you are welcome to visit. We also have a kitchen garden, 10 egg-laying hens, 2 very friendly outdoor cats, and our black lab Abby who will likely greet you with a bark (she is very friendly). In the summer months you can enjoy a handful of lakes for swimming and boating all within 10-15 minutes of our property. We are happy to share details and locations. We are conveniently located just off of Highway 10, ten minutes north of Markdale and 25 minutes south of Owen Sound. If you are headed north to Tobermory, we are a perfect mid way point if coming from Toronto, with Tobermory just an hour and a half north of us.

The land is framed by the historic Bruce Trail to the north, Billy Bishop airport (only a few small prop-private flights daily) to the west, Concession 6 N on the East, and Highway 26 on the south end of the property.   There is a forest on the north end of our land where the bruce trail runs through (C) and the farm sits more to the south end (A). There's a pine-forest that one has to hike into (B- see map in photos). Generally, the area is close to swimming in Lake Huron, the property is large (100 hectares) and the neighborhood is large grain. This means you can have a chunk of the forest all to yourself. For area A you can drive in the main driveway and park by the house/ barn or on the field. Or walk to a camping spot. No 4 wheel drive is necessary. Please stay away from the Barn as it is dangerous to be close by.  For area C you can access the fields from Concession 6 N at one of the gates past (North) of the driveway. You will need a 4-wheel drive to not get stuck in the field. Please do not park on the agricultural field.  For area B You will park your car behind a gate right off Highway 26 and hike in to find a site to pitch a tent. There are about 3 spots for cars behind the first set of Pines. You might need a 4-wheel drive.  It's completely up to you where you set up camp. We ask that you do not light any open fires as this is a coniferous forest. Feel free to walk in as far you want to find your spot. If you walk too far you will come up to a field and the farmhouse. We ask that you do not camp on the agricultural fields.

I really enjoyed my time. The site itself was a decent size, pretty quite and overall the grounds looked well maintained. The view was really nice aswell. The campground also had a few items there for your convenience at an extra cost like firewood, dumpster access to discard trash and hot water if you wanted to shower. I would book again.

Chris has been a great host, the site was clean and private. To our right was a wooded area and the front of the property was the Saugeen river. We had a nice swim, better to wear boots in the water as there were some crawfish. Overall a pleasant stay and we hope to visit soon!

Bill is a great host. Very helpful and kind. The place is lovely lots of place for children to play, away from the city. Beautiful night sky and surreal views. Plenty firewood was included, Bill also has kayaks and canoe rentals. Enjoyed our time there, highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Rowley's Saugeen River Adv. Acres

We loved the morning shade at this campsite! Chris was very hospitable; he gave us a quick tour when we arrived and was very kind and accommodating with our requests. My family and I spent two wonderful nights here enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature, stargazing, and we even got to see a firefly! This was our very first camping experience, and my kids would absolutely give this trip 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The only downside for us was the extreme heat during the day. There wasn’t much shade between around 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., so we used that time to go hiking and explore the area. We would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone who loves lots of sunshine during the day, peaceful sounds of nature, and beautiful stargazing at night. It was a memorable first camping experience for our family. Thank you, Chris, for being such a welcoming host!
