Pat grew up only 2.5 miles from where she lives now with her husband Gerry. The grandmother of her best friend owned the farm when she was a little girl and she played in the house all the time growing up. Pat purchased the farm in 1997 and has been here ever since.Fun Fact: Pat's first pony named Scout, grew up on this farm. He raised the kids of 2 different families before he was given to her by her parents for her 4th birthday. Thus began her lifelong passion for all things equine.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave. There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge. This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush. We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter. Four-wheel-drive is required for access in the winter!

A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy. Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable er be spectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment. There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward. We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you. TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it. CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. We are sorry for this, but we only have a short season, and you'll be using up double the time you booked for. Terry and Ray P.S. With three large windows, a dome skylight, and wool felt insulation, the yurt provides a wonderful "glamping" experience. There is a double bed and a single bed in the yurt along with a cooler, table, chairs, and storage space. In the future there will be solar power, but right now the lighting available is by a battery powered lantern (provided). Next to the yurt is a picnic table, fire pit, and a sawdust toilet.

Should you wish to come during off season please get in touch and if it's feasible we'll open up.

We have owned the property for 19 years. The camping area was once a gravel pit which was rehabilitated in 2020. There is agricultural land that is farmed in the summer as well we host bees at that back of the property . A unique feature on the property is a natural spring that bubbles up and feeds the two streams on the property.

The best camping near Southampton guide

Where to go

Fathom Five National Marine Park

Situated beside the town of Tobermory, Fathom Five National Marine Park is a one-hour and 18-minute drive from Southampton, making it an easy day trip. The park has wheelchair-accessible areas, allows dogs, and offers easy walking trails for kids. Book a scuba diving tour to see 22 historic shipwrecks dotted across the lake bottom, or hop in a kayak and paddle to Flowerpot Island’s natural rock pillars carved by waves over thousands of years. Tent camping is available for easy access to marine life and aquatic activities.

Bruce Peninsula National Park

Bruce Peninsula National Park is just over an hour away and highlights 154 square kilometres of natural lakeside beauty. Park at the Halfway Log Dump Lot (making reservations is a good idea since there aren’t any other lots) and hike the 4.4-km section of the Bruce Trail called The Grotto Hike to a natural limestone sea cave well-known for swimming, cliff jumping, and craggy terrain. There are plenty of tent and backcountry campsites as well as some glamping campgrounds with yurts featuring wood-burning fireplaces and bathroom facilities.

Inglis Falls Conservation Area

Close to Owen Sound and just over a 30-minute drive from Southampton, Inglis Falls Conservation Area features 200 hectares of forested grounds with 7.42 kilometres of trails. Inglis Falls—an 18-meter-high waterfall—is one of the main draws. Visit in winter to view the awe-inspiring array of icicles, get a workout on snowshoe and cross-country trails, and cozy up at a tent campsite with a firepit or a cabin with a wood-burning stove to dry off snow-soaked clothing. RV campgrounds with full-service amenities like dump stations, water hookups, and wifi access are also available.

When to go

June, July, and August are universally-loved for Southampton visits when the weather is warm with very little rain. Expect bigger crowds in summer, so traveling in May or September when the weather’s still pleasant and the tourist attractions are less busy offers a quieter experience. Freezing temperatures and snow start in December and last until February—prime conditions for cross-country skiing and photographing frozen waterfalls.
