A highlight from our stay at Margaret's cabins were the kayaks! As the bottom of the lake near the dock wasn't great it was super nice to be able to row out and use the neighbour's dock in deeper water!
The solar lights in the cabins were really helpful and the outhouse was high end!! Also the solar fans with a charging option were neat! Thanks so much for giving us a chance to be on the lake for a bit.

I absolutely loved the tent site. Its very nice and private and easily accessible. The host is amazing and makes sure everything is good! There is a beautiful dock as well.

Beautiful private spot! The fishing off of the dock was perfect for my friends 7 year old who loved catching sunfish. A whole lot of others in there but it will for sure keep the kids happy. Highly recommend.

The environment is lovely and full of different activities such as kayaking canoeing tubing trails you wouldn’t finish in one day! Our cabin was very comfy and Margaret was super helpful with showing us around and answer our questions. Def recommended 👌🏻
Margaret is an excellent host; her attention from the first moment was great. The bunkie is fantastic and cozy, everything is very clean... The place is amazing, it exceeded our expectations ten thousand percent. It has very beautiful views during the day, and even more so at night. I've never seen such a starry sky in one night!

This was my second Hipcamp, and Margaret was a wonderful host. Margaret's cottage was within steps, but I had the bunkie, and the rest of the property all too myself. I especially liked the silence of Towsend Lake. I enjoyed the kayaking, free firewood, and the locality (15-30 min drive to several towns). Margaret even had a small gift waiting inside the bunkie for her guest. I hope to be back there again one day. Thank you Margaret!

Great spot. Lake was lovely. Easy access to Bruce Trail and in the middle of several little towns. It was my second time there.
I had such a relaxing weekend in the Bunkie. Falling asleep to rain on the Bunkie roof was magical. You will hear lots of birds, including loons. It was great to have a portapotty with a sink, instead of an outhouse. Floating in a tube off the dock was amazing; Margaret had lots of options to get out on the lake for swims in deeper water, since it's shallow and silty off of the dock. Margaret and I had a good chat. She is an incredible host who has thought of everything

Neat little cabin situated closer to the house side. The table for the kitchen is a tabletop bbq and sink tub next to it. Dining can be had next to it with a table and chairs provided although the kitchen is shared with the other cabin available for booking. The yard is quite large for some activities as well as a shed with free use of bikes, kayaks, floaties, canoe, paddle board, PFD jackets. The fire pit is nice with 4 muskoka chairs surrounding it. The lake is very clear with fish and lakeside neighbors can be seen fishing from docks and boats. The washroom is a porta potty with flushing and sink.
Margaret was a great host, helping out with any questions and refilling the jug of water to use for dishes or washing.

My daughter and I had an absolute blast at Cedar Acres! Margaret was warm and welcoming as soon as I pulled up her bright smile was there to welcome us and give us a tour so that we were familiar with all the amenities.
We set up camp on the tent site. It had everything from a BBQ, table, fire pit, a stocked wood pile full of dry wood to a leveled gravel pad to set up even the biggest of tents.
We invited Margaret out on a canoe ride and she was happy to come along and give us a nice tour of the lake, telling us where to paddle for the best sunrises and sunsets.
My 4 year old daughter cause not only her first fish ever, for 5 throughout our stay!
We had access to a canoe, kayaks, bicycles, and an entire shed full of yard games, rackets, fishing poles, etc.
My daughter has been asking to go back since we got home.

We had an unforgettable 2-day stay here with our family. The cabin was cozy, clean, and surrounded by beautiful nature. The peaceful atmosphere and the lake made it the perfect place to relax and disconnect from our busy lives.
The highlight of our trip was that it was the first time my wife and I ever went kayaking together, and it turned into a memory we’ll cherish forever. We also caught our very first fish ever, which made the experience even more exciting and special! The kayak, canoe, and easy access to the lake made everything so enjoyable.
Even without electricity, the cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the solar lighting worked great. The open grassy area was perfect for spending time together, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors.
Thank you to the wonderful hosts for providing such a peaceful and welcoming place. We left with amazing memories and can’t wait to come back. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing family getaway in nature! 🌲🚣🎣❤️
This was our third stay at this bunkie, and it honestly feels like coming home every time. The space is cozy, peaceful, and always so well cared for. Absolutely amazing stay — everything exceeded expectations. The campsite was incredibly peaceful and well-maintained, with a beautiful lake that made the whole experience feel relaxing and unforgettable. The activities were fun and there was always something to enjoy, while the firewood provided made evenings by the campfire extra cozy.
The host was welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was complete for a comfortable stay. The area itself is quiet, scenic, and perfect for anyone looking to unwind in nature.

We had a fantastic experience at Margaret’s place! She was an incredibly flexible and accommodating host, which we truly appreciated. Despite some chilly weather, we stayed busy with all the great activities provided. We loved the kayaks for sunset views, enjoyed the bonfire, and made full use of the bikes and fishing rods available on-site. Margaret really goes above and beyond to provide everything you need for a great stay. We’re already looking forward to returning next month!
We’ve now visited Margaret’s place twice, and each time has truly felt like coming home. From soothing lake views to all the thoughtful comforts Margaret provides, it’s easy to relax and unwind here. The little treat she left for us was the cherry on top. We already can’t wait for our next visit—this place means so much to us!
The best place to end our camping for the summer, peaceful and quiet it was raining and cold but we still had a great time, we manage to canoe even windy, rode the bike and kayak the day we left, the bunkie its so cute and clean plus a welcome treat from the great host Margaret.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay in the main cabin. We were able to use the kayaks to explore the lake, we built a nice fire, cooked on the outdoor grill, stargazed and went birding on the property. It was very serene. Margaret was very kind and welcoming as well. We highly reccomend this rental.

We stayed for one night and really enjoyed our time. The place was peaceful and well set up. Even though Margaret was away, everything we needed was provided. We had fun cycling, kayaking, and making s’mores by the fire. Overall, it was a wonderful and fun stay!

Great spot for a short getaway. The lake is peaceful and perfect for kayaking, being able to utilize the neighbour's floating dock in the middle of the lake was a nice bonus as it was perfect for swimming and relaxing in the heat of the day. For any hikers, the Bruce trail is only about 20 minutes away. Would recommend Hoggs Falls conservation area as an access point, which also has lots of shorter looped hike options and is a nice little side trip. Plenty of firewood provided and the port-a-potty is the deluxe model.
We were fortunate to have Margaret’s property all to ourselves and loved the serene quiet of Townsend lake! From other reviews, sounds like Margaret is lovely host when on the property, which we didn’t experience first hand.
It’s in an ideal location, close to charming towns and beautiful nature. And the lake was perfect for kayaking, there’s even a dock you can boat to for swimming! Margaret provided everything you’d need very thoughtfully. Just keep in mind, there’s no running water or electricity so pack smart!
We stayed for just one night, but it was such a fun and memorable experience! Everything exceeded our expectations. The cabin was cozy and well-equipped, with a stunning view and plenty of activities to enjoy on-site. Margaret and her friend were incredibly helpful and welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back, highly recommended!!

Margaret was a warm and friendly host.
She helped us before we came, answered all our questions, and stayed helpful even after we arrived.
The bunkie was cozy and easy to sleep in. They offered fun games both indoors and outdoors. There was lots of firewood, so we could enjoy a bonfire at night.
This is a lovely place—quiet, welcoming, and full of good things. We hope to visit again soon!

This place is a hidden gem with so much to offer—kayaking, canoeing, cycling, tubing, indoor games, books, and more. They’ve thoughtfully provided all the cooking equipment along with propane, making it super convenient. The property is well-maintained and very organized, and even the portable washroom was impressively clean. Margaret was incredibly kind and well-spoken—truly a wonderful host. Can’t wait to return!

Everything was lovely! The bunkie was comfortable, we had everything we needed, and Margaret was very helpful and accommodating. The property is situated on a lovely little lake, and it was so quiet at night. Depending on how picky you are, you may want your own pillows... But we did, so no issues there!

Margaret was a lovely host! Her space is nestled in the trees on a serene lake that’s just right for floating on a hot day. The little dining table in the woods made for a whimsical evening. Beautiful bird sounds in the morning and frogs in the evening. We would recommend this hip camp.
The site was beautiful. It was right on the water and the views were great. Bunkie was very cute and clean. Bathroom was very clean as well and had a sink. It has more of a cottage vibe as owners house is right beside but still very enjoyable. There is a nice little eating area with a bbq, as well as a nice fire pit near the water. Host was very friendly. Really enjoyed our stay.
