Learn more about this land:This comfortable and spacious yurt is located on the 30-acre property of the historic Paisley Mill along the Teeswater river. With three large windows, a dome skylight, and wool felt insulation, the yurt provides a wonderful "glamping" experience.
There is a double bed and a single bed in the yurt along with a cooler, table, chairs, and storage space. In the future there will be solar power, but right now the lighting available is by a battery powered lantern (provided). Next to the yurt is a picnic table, fire pit, and a sawdust toilet.

We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy.
Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim.
We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is.
Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable er
be spectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing.
Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking.
New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment.
There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward.
We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you.
TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it.
CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.

There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.

On clear nights the starry vistas will unfold in the Dark Sky Preserve here on the Bruce Peninsula.
The lakefront has a picnic table to enjoy a meal at (no fire pit). You can push off from the shoreline with your kayaks or canoes (bring your own) to explore “The Fens” of Mountain Lake.
The lake is NOT suitable for swimming, it has a marl bottom that you will sink into.
There is no potable water, please bring your own for drinking and cooking.
There are some nice beaches suitable for swimming within a 15-20 minute drive. Sauble Beach is best for a swim and to watch the sunset from.
We are located 10 minutes from Wiarton, 20 minutes from Sauble Beach and 1 hour from Tobermory. Enjoy all the Bruce Peninsula has to offer from this convenient base.

We loved our winter stay at Natalie’s cabin. There was plenty of snowfall but barely any wind making for breathtaking scenery. Parking was cleared of snow as well as pathways to the cabin and the outhouse. The cabin was the perfect size for a couple like us and warmed up quickly with the wood stove. We requested additional firewood and it was delivered promptly and was a generous amount for the price. Overall the stay was incredibly peaceful and quiet, very few cars on the road to the property. While the cabin is close to the road it is tucked nicely back and is still very private. We would absolutely stay again if we have the chance.

We had a great time staying at Camp Kyle. Natalie was very friendly and inviting. The Cabin and outhouse were very clean. There was an outdoor kitchen available with propane burners/grill. Great for heating up or making a meal. A large fire pit and plenty of outdoor space surrounded by a beautiful landscape. 3 nights at Stillwater Bunkie and RV Site
Our visit to the Stillwater Bunkie was a great few days! We had private access to a lake, a well-maintained firepit and composting toilet, and a cozy bunkie. Despite being out at the Bunkie in mid-November, we were able to keep very warm inside the Bunkie with the wood burning stove and the provided propane heater. The Bunkie and property came stocked with lots of thoughtful supplies (ex some basic dishes and cutlery, water for washing dishes and 4L of drinkable water per day, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, BBQ, firewood, marshmallow roasting sticks, axe, etc). The sofa bed and loft bed were very comfortable! The use of the fridge in their garage and a portable power station in the Bunkie are huge bonuses that many other listings don't provide. The listing mentioned an outdoor shower which we thought would be working but wasn't connected. Not a big deal for a few days but it definitely changed how we planned to keep clean and fresh. Colin was very easily accessible via messaging on this app and was quick to provide any extra supplies we required during our stay (for example, a garbage bin as listed in their welcome/info binder provided inside the Bunkie). Awesome site, very clean and beautifully maintained. As well as very unique! Such a cool low stress campsite, not too far from home, but far enough from any noise or city. Host was great and very responsive. 10/10 would recommend and hoping to stay again!

My children and I loved our stay at Rick's place. Tha cabin and airplane are in great shape and nestled in the middle of the woods. Rick was a good host and everything was as we expected. The wood stove in the cabin kept us warm in mid November, and the airplane was big enough for two kids with winter sleeping bags. It was a memorable trip. Thanks, Rick.

Weekend Trip to Heavens Acres
Lovely little cabin. Well-insulated, and has a wood stove. Doesn't take much fire to warm the place up. The main cabin has three single-bed cots plus a single bed mattress in the loft, but know there is very little headroom up there. Probably more suitable for a child. There's a table and four chairs.
The plane has room for an adult or a couple of kids to set up sleeping bags.
Very quiet. Didn't hear a thing aside from the wind in the trees. Just what I wanted for a Hallowe'en camping weekend. The outhouse is clean and as nice as an outhouse can be.
Watch out for the dogs on the way in. They're friendly cuties, but don't seem car-smart, so drive extra slowly.

This was a magical and tranquil camping escape. The waterfront spot was perfectly quiet and peaceful. The clear skies and zero light pollution provided phenomenal stargazing nightly. Firstly, Rick was the best host. Informative, responsive but left us to our own devices. My partner and I were looking for somewhere functional and secluded and this property hit all the marks.
We stayed there with our 3 large dogs and were able to explore trails onsite that were easily accessible and intuitive. There's also a great clearing in the marsh where we were able to catch some shooting stars!
The first night we stayed in the smaller cabin, which was a dreamy little slice of rustic bliss. Second night we stayed at the unique plane crash site - overall has more space and access to the plane worked as a perfect refuge to shelter from the elements, while conveniently placed steps away from the warmth of our campfire.
Clearly both sites are treated with care, clean and filled
No doubt, will be back.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a truly special place. Lisa's cabin isn't just a rental; it's a magical escape that feels instantly like home, only better. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations, and we can't recommend it—or Lisa as a host—highly enough.
The entire property is meticulously maintained and offers such a sense of peace.
Special mention: the amazing, clean pond. It was a sparkling centerpiece to the landscape! Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee by its edge or watching the sunset reflect off the water, it created the most tranquil atmosphere. It's clearly well-cared for, which made it such a joy to be around.

I had such a wonderful time glamping here! The place was beautiful, comfortable, and surrounded by nature — a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. The peaceful atmosphere made it such a refreshing escape from the city.
Lisa and Scott were absolutely lovely hosts — warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. Their friendly approach really made the stay feel extra special!
I loved the friendly chickens roaming around, adding a cute countryside touch. The barbecue setup was great, and spending the evening by the firewood under the stars was such a cozy experience. Kayaking was another highlight — calm waters, lovely views, and lots of fun!

Set on some very scenic curves along Lake Huron’s shoreline, the clear, blue waters at Inverhuron Provincial Park can feel a bit like those in the Caribbean. The dunes and long, crescent-shaped beach bring families together with its shallow bottom and gentle drop-off. Hike and bike along Holmes Bay Trail, which traces the edges of the peninsula where all three campgrounds are located, and if you get too hot, you can swim right off the rocks anywhere along the trail. Fish from the shore for salmon, pickerel, and northern pike, or launch a boat and drop a line for rainbow and brown trout. Play some beach volleyball, but make sure to get to the northwest side of the peninsula when evening comes—the sight of the sun making its daily descent into the lake is unforgettable.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for photographers: Lime Kiln Campground is located closest to the best vantage point for sunset.
- Best for sun-worshippers and swimmers: Gunn Point Campground is within easy walking distance of the beach.
- Best for nature-lovers: The sites on the outer loops of Holmes Bay Campground are very private and forested.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- This is a very popular park in the heart of the summer, as campers flock here from big population centres just to the south, including the greater Toronto area and London, Ontario. Because of this, you’re best to book early—months in advance, if you’re coming on a weekend, during a holiday, or during July and the first two weeks of August. Sites within walking distance to the beach are most popular—and book up first.
- First-come, first-served sites are a possibility, but no sites are set aside for same-day arrivals.
When to go
The park and campgrounds open in the middle of May and close after Canadian Thanksgiving in October. Summer is very busy, with campsites sometimes booking up entirely. The narrow beach can get packed, and space is at a premium during peak times. Evenings early and late in the season can be chilly, so if you’re camping in May, September, or October, be sure to pack a warm sleeping bag and a good coat. Fall colours are beautiful, and autumn tends to be uncrowded and far less buggy.
Know before you go
- Beware of poison ivy, which grows throughout the park and especially near the volleyball court (be careful when fetching errant balls).
- A cool bike park can be found within riding distance, with fun jumps and big mounds.
- The comfort stations in each of the three campgrounds have laundry facilities.
